I recently bought a condo and wanted to get the popcorn ceilings removed before bringing in furniture. I got three quotes including Roy, who was recommended by my realtor. He was very friendly, his quote was very reasonable, and he took pride in his work. Roy did a fantastic job scraping, texturing, and painting the ceilings and even offered advice on paint for when I eventually get around to painting the walls. I highly recommend him!

Roy is one of the best painters in the Bay Area. I have used Roy on multiple jobs as well as for my own home.
Roy is very responsive, and gives very reasonable bids. He has a wealth of knowledge about painting and will work around your schedule.
He was a life saver when we decided to paint our own house, and then ran out of time before the carpets had to be installed. I highly reccommend him for any painting needs!

Roy Pena is an excellent (licensed) painter and great person! He painted the exterior of my house in about a week for a very reasonable price, and it’s gorgeous. As part of the job, he powerwashed the entire house, prepped (sanded rough spots, primed wood spots where needed, calked gaps), and painted two coats of exterior paint on the house. Roy uses a combination of spray and roller for the body color, and hand brushes on the trim. Roy is very knowledgable about different brands of paint (Ben Moore, etc), and types of paint (flat, gloss, etc). He communicated very well throughout the entire process, was punctual and took his time to meticulously do the paint job well. He was flexible about coming on the weekend to do the doors so that I wouldn’t have to take a day off of work. Roy is also tidy with his equipment and tools, and carefully covered up and organized things I had in the yard so that paint wouldn’t get onto them. He even washed down a neighbor’s car when some paint dust drifted over (easy to wash off).
Roy is very friendly and personable, and even put up with rude neighbors very admirably. He also paints the interior of houses and paints cabinets. He lives in the Central Valley, but does work all over the Bay Area (San Jose, El Cerrito, etc). I highly recommend him!
