Mansfield Smiles and Orthodontics

My wife and I have been patients at Mansfield Smiles since 2011. There has been a steady turnover of the professional and clerical staff there during that time but no noticeable loss of excellence. In fact, I ran into a prior receptionist in a grocery store and she greeted me by name with a big smile. She explained that she had been temporarily assigned to a different office but expected to return to the Broad St. Location before the end of the year.
Yesterday’s visit involved interactions with the x-​ray tech, the new dentist that I had not met before, and the hygienist, as well as the office staff. All were efficient and competent, as they people who have worked there have always been.
Neither of us had a singe unsatisfactory experience and we already have our appointments for six months down the road and they are conveniently aligned so that we can be seen at the same time. I have nothing but the highest praise for Mansfield Smiles and simply cannot fathom how some of the unsatisfactory reviews presented on this page could ever be justified.

The previous negative reviews pretty much sum up my experience here. The doctors were nice enough but procedure quality and staff were awful at best. Stay clear!!!

The worst customer service ever!!! My first bad experience they had a student or whomever not the hygenist clean my teeth. She did a terrible job and sent me home without the fluoride I paid for. I was so done, I just wanted to leave so I did. The next visit I wanted to give them another shot, got my teeth clean almost tried to charge me double for the flouride until I mentioned something. The hygenist was great super nice and thorough. I was scheduled to have a cavity filled, there pumps went down over the weekend. They called me 15 mins prior to my appointment as i was about to pull up to reschedule. That was irritating within itself, then I called back got hung up on. Then I called again at this point super upset, the woman who answered the phone was unsympathetic and to be honest not sincere whatsoever. So I will not be going back to this dental office. The customer service sucks!!!

Awful. Awful, awful awful. I have been in and out of ortho offices all my life, and this by far was the worst experience of my life.
First of all, I scheduled an appointment for a basic cleaning at 6pm for 10:30am the next day. I was not even brought back until 11:20am. Once that happened, I sat in the x-​ray chair while two dental assistants were very loudly talking about how much fun they had at that party last night. I get it, but come on people. at least go to a break room. Then, the xray tech helping me stabbed me in the mouth three times. Awesome.
Then I’m taken to the actual chair, and I sit there for, I kid you not, 45 MINUTES. Nobody came to help me. Finally, the hygenist looks at me and says «have you been helped yet?». SERIOUSLY!!!
then the dentist walks in, takes one look at me, and recommends that I get my wisdom teeth taken out. okay, fine, sounds reasonable. He says «i’ll be right back», and I’m thinking that I am just going to get a cleaning. He comes back with THE FRONT DESK GIRL and a PAYMENT PLAN for my wisdom teeth. He leaves me there with her and she talks about the new credit card I can open or how I can do a super expensive in house payment plan. I’m just here for a cleaning. Mind you, my appointment was at 10:30 and it is not almost 1pm.
Then the hygenist comes back, rude as hell since I turned down spending more money and time there, and cleans my teeth in awkward silence. I asked her if she could remove a small piece of glue that was never taken off after I got my retainer taken out. She says, «I can, but it will be $ 75 PER TOOTH».
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!
So I just got up to pay for my crappy service. the same front desk girl with the payment plan asked me to rebook. It is now 1:30 pm. I have been in this office for a basic cleaning FOR THREE HOURS NOW. I told her I did not want to rebook. She then proceeded to tell me «Well, I just don’t want you to miss out because currently we are booked 8 months solid for cleaning appointments». To which I responded, «really? Because i called last night and got in this morning. Have a nice day.‘
Booked 8 months solid, really? This isn’t the Ritz, its a dental office for goodness sake.
Terrible experience. Please, please, do not go to this car dealership. I mean, dentist office.

Worst ortho experience EVER. They have had 4 orthodontists come and leave since the opened. They NEVER have appointments available or care to come in more than 6 days a month to try to accommodate the patients they have managed to lure in. The staff is unless reliable and you never can guess what type of service you will get or who you will see.

Staff was friendly but it took an hour and a half for xrays and to see the dentist… no cleaning included. I’m disappointed that I was sitting around for so long and the hygienist didn’t have time to clean my teeth.

When I called in I specifically stated that I needed a cleaning and that I was a new patient. The lady on the other end scheduled an appointment for what I thought would include the cleaning. This was good for me because I have to take my 18 month old to my appointment, therefore, it is best to get it all done at one time. On the day I show up for my appointment, I go through the process of getting checked in. I even ask for an invoice when all the work is done. Overall the staff and dentist were friendly. However, after the dentist does the check up, the office staff tell me that the hygienist is too busy to clean my teeth today. I explain that I thought a cleaning would be done. She tells me that they let patients know that a cleaning is not guaranteed on a first visit. I tell her that that information was not communicated to me, and that I prefer having the cleaning done today due to the baby. She hesitated so I decide to let it go, and just schedule a cleaning at another time, foolishly thinking it would only be a week before the cleaning. She informs me that the next available appointment for a cleaning is 3 weeks out. At this point, I left. This business model is not convenient for patients, in my opinion. The patient is there already, so do the cleaning. That makes sense. If your hygienist is that busy, hire another one, or simply make sure you DO communicate to the patient your business model.

Great office. Everyone are so nice. Dr T was amazing. The first dentist that actually listen to my concerns. She is the best dentist that I ever had. She even clean my teeth since her hygienist did not have any open spot on her schedule on the first visit. I will recommend this office to everyone.

I don’t think anyone likes going to a dentist, but honestly Dr. T is amazing! She was so patient with me, and did a wonderful job. I felt no pain during or after. She is sweet and trustworthy. I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

I am a new resident of Mansfield and searched online for a dental office. Mansfield Smiles and Ortho has great reviews, so I looked at their website and decided that a $ 59 special was just what I needed! The office was very clean, the staff very friendly. I didn’t wait very long in the waiting area and the whole process of x-​rays, exam, and cleaning flowed very smoothly. Dr. Devore found my one troubled tooth (it has a crack in it and a pretty large filling). He was the first dentist not to insist I needed a crown, but advised he could use the CAD/​CAM (super filling!). I was given a price and financial options etc. that were very workable. The dental hygienist was one of the best I have experienced. She did an exceptional job! I will definitely be going back to this office for regular cleanings and exam. Also, I will be getting that one troubled tooth in a mouthful of awesome teeth fixed, haha!

Great office and staff. I am always taken care of here. The hygienist Sarah is amazing. My teeth are always super clean afterwards, plus she’s gentle which I appreciate. The receptionists are very nice and knowledgable about my insurance. Overall I would recommend this office!

I just changed from another local dentist office and could not be happier. I normally hate everything about going to the dentist… making the appointment at a time I can work with, the actual procedure, and the pain of paying for it! Although I will never enjoy dental work, Mansfield Smiles made it easier and I will never go back to my former office!

Great place to have dental work done! The office staff are always smiling and friendly. Every procedure was explained to me in detail. Dr. T is very nice and gentle.

After searching awful dentist after worse dentists I am so happy to have finally found Dr. Devore. This office is professional, empathetic and just all around wonderful. I never take time to write these reviews, however this office is above and beyond exceptional. I would recommend this practice to anyone looking for an above average trip to the dentist. Will never go anywhere else!~

I came in thinking I would have to have two teeth removed. I didn’t want to lose the back molar. I was very excited when I was told that I could have a root canal and save the tooth. I would rather save this tooth than pay for a dental implant later!
I chose to have nitrus. Its worth the $ 81, trust me on this.
I went in to my own world of relaxation while having the root canal. As a professional hypnotist, I got myself in to a nice trance state and constantly reminded myself of how lucky I was to get dental care. At one point, the doctor asked me if I was experiencing pain. I was, a little. Honestly? I didn’t care. Whatever I was feeling with the drill was nothing like the excruciating pain I had been experiencing at home. I went nights without sleeping because the pain was so intense. I knew that this minor amount of time would be over with soon and life would be pain-​free. I kept envisioning the doctor going to the root of the tooth as he was drilling, the nitrus helped. So yes, I have a crown and I’m happy. They removed a wisdom tooth and it was almost nothing. I didn’t feel much of anything.
The next day, I was normal. Other than the soreness from the injection sites, I felt great. I was speaking normally and did not have any swelling. In fact, the site where my tooth was extracted stopped bleeding while I was in the office. Also, since the infection in the tooth had been removed, I didn’t hurt anymore. I didn’t need more than an aleve on the first or second day to alleviate any discomfort.
I can not say enough nice things about Dr. Devore and his assistant. I have more dental work to complete this year and they are the ones I trust. They were friendly, super nice, and I am very happy with this outcome.
The front desk is awesome. They are super nice and helpful. I’m self-​pay. They set me up on a payment plan so that I could afford the cost of the dental work. I am grateful.
If you’re putting off dental work in hopes that it will get better, it won’t. Go ahead and do it now so your treatment isn’t as severe. They’re nice, professional, and very likable. If I could give them more stars I would. Just remember when you’re in their chair that you’re in the hands of a very capable and professional DDS. These people are awesome!
And if you’re needing a root canal, they are the ones to call.
The nitrus helped. It didn’t help with any pain, it just helped me go in to my own world while having dental work. I must say, I really went to some happy places in my mind while they were working on me.
I’m referring everyone I know to them. In fact, I want to refer everyone. I hope everyone can have a positive dental experience. Maybe you’ll stop procrastinating after reading this and give them a call. You’ll be very happy you did!

This is not a dentist office, it is a corporation. I was having a problem with a tooth. I came in to have it looked at then was told I had to have x rays on it. OK no problem. Then I had to speak with a Benefits coordinator to review my options for a Crown; expensive one or a couple hundred less. Then I had to make an appointment to come back. I wanted to have my teeth cleaned before the crown but was told I would have to have a full set of x-​rays before having my teeth cleaned. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. The dentist did a great job on my crown and warrantied it, but I will never go back there. I felt like I was treated like a customer and not a person and the prices are ridiculous.

I could sit here and type all day on how wonderful this office is. I went to this location for the first time because of the great reviews and price. I am a Nanny and can be pretty busy, so I took a shot for this office because of location, ratings and price. My first time there was a great experience to where I even went 4 times in a month and a half.
I was greeted and taken care of as soon as I called and showed up. Justin is the gentalmen who helped me threw it all and he is a wonderful person. He helped me understand what I needed to know with what work I need to get down, what my insurance will cover and what their office offers with what my insurance may not cover.
I got a basic check up, got my wisdom teeth taken out, next got my cavities taken out and got a cleaning done. That is alot of work that was needed, but I can say I am very happy with my services and more convident with my smile and teeth. All the doctors, dental assistants and others who did services on my teeth were all great. I referred my husband to them to get work done and now have referred others who ask about my teeth. I don’t plan on going anywhere else but this office.
Dr.Devore and his team are all wonderful and I greatly appreciate them for taking care of me and making me a happy client! Don’t just take my word for it, experience it for yourself.

Great office! The doctor was really nice and explained everything to me. The hygienist was so sweet and gentle. My teeth felt so clean afterwards. She used this electronic water scraper thing which was awesome. She only had to «scrape» a little which I was happy about because I hate that feeling and it usually hurts. This was great and thorough and pretty much painless! The office staff is really helpful and I enjoy going to the dentist now. I will be back and highly suggest you give them a try.

A little background. I loathe the dentist! So much that I’ve had braces for 9 years (don’t judge me) A series of bad experiences with «drive-​thrus» i.e.too crowded, unprofessional, and poor quality or «5 stars» i.e.overly formal, rigid pricing and «American Express Only» pay options, sent me running. Naturally, NOT doing anything made a bad problem worse, and when pliers didn’t work I was forced to see a professional.
I found Mansfield Smiles on Unilocal.Small, modern, close to home, why not? I called and, Justin (i think) was super nice and patient. The day of my appt Tonya, insurance chick, greeted me like old friends, all while making sure my benefits were in tact. I needed A LOT of work. Tonya laid out all the payment options (and there were several). She stepped out while I negotiated with my husband and off we went. Dr Davore came in was sensitive to my apprehension, assured me that I had the «power» (YEP thats the man for me) and VIOLA! hour and half and 2 root canals later, I mosied out the office.*HIGH FIVE*

A great dentist office! Everything done so pleasantly and painlessly! They are fair with pricing and work that needs to be done! Definitely recommend them-​and I usually hate dentists!
