Monica Halem, M.D., FAAD is a Board Certified Dermatologist and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, America College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery, and the American Society for Lasers in Medicine & Surgery. Dr. Halem is the Founder and Medical Director of New York Dermatologic Surgery Cosmetic Laser Center and was formerly Assistant Professor of Clinical Dermatology in the Department of Dermatology at Columbia University/​New York Presbyterian Hospital.

I had doctor after doctor tell me there was *nothing* I could do about the chicken pox scars on my forehead that have bothered me since childhood (a lot). A friend convinced me to try Dr. Halem after he experienced life-​changing acne scar revisions under her care. I am so glad I did. She was able to fill in the scars by injecting microdroplets of silicon — a permanent filler. A subtle change that made a huge difference. Her office is lovely and her staff are friendly and compassionate. All that and her prices are reasonable. Dr. Halem is a skilled expert who is easy to talk to and doesn’t overpromise on results — she actually delivers.

After going through three dermatologists I finally found Dr. Halem. She never keeps me waiting for long, takes the time to answer my questions and is a very skilled practitioner. I followed her from Columbia and her new office is beautiful. I also don’t have to wait too long to get an appointment. I just wish she was located downtown but it’s worth the 30 min of travel for a good doctor.

Dr Halem is the best dermatologist out there. If you are looking for someone amazing in NYC, look no further. Her office is beautiful, modern and clean. The front staff are friendly, accommodating and professional. Dr Halem is so warm and calm that you instantly feel at ease. She addressed all of my concerns and fixed some of my issues right there on the spot. I look forward to continuing treatment and going back!
