Mike fixed my messed up haircut and is awesome to talk to. Very skilled and will go to him from now on.

I always get a good haircut here. Mike listens to what you want, and makes you look good. Have been going here for 2+ years now, and will continue to for the foreseeable future. Price is also very, very competitive compared to other shops.

I have been going to mike for years, he is honestly the best barber I have ever been to in my life. Before Mike, I experimented with different barbers in the area and none come close to the level of perfection Mike brings. I have to work around meetings and my work schedule, and Mike encourages customers to text him to see if he is working and to what time. He is very responsive and flexible enough to work late if it accommodates a customer. Outside of his skill as a barber, I would be remiss without saying what a cool guys Mike is. He has become a friend over time, and we constantly chat about family and life. He is very chill, and a hard working guy trying to support his family. Everyone who reads this should check him out. I will let his skill speak for itself, so just give him a try! You won’t be disappointed!

Mike is the first Non-Asian to cut my hair and he does it well. Like most barbershops, it is a no frills place that really delivers great service. Mike is also a good therapist if you ever need to talk to someone about your issues. Sometimes you might have to wait because Mike is the only person that works there and everyone wants to get a fresh cut for the weekend. But the wait isnt too bad because he has netflix playing all the time. Mike is also very religous, so the place is closed on saturdays, late on fridays, and on jewish holidays. I would call before I go. Also, cut is $ 15, which is a bargain outside of chinatown. Leave the money, take the cannoli.

Sometimes the service you get is so good it warrants a review. I walked past this place for months everyday on my way to work. I finally got around to checking out barbers around my office and when I saw Mike’s reviews I had to give him a shot. He’ll give you a quality haircut for a good price and on top of that he is friendly.

Mike was great. I’m mixed with a unique grade of hair, and I have actually been turned away by certain salons — actually refused service.(Yes, I will write a review on that so people don’t have the same experience that I had). Back to Mike… Great place. I walked into a very clean and calm. He told me that he would cut my hair in 10 minutes and that’s what happened. He is a great conversationalist and has a great sense of humor. He has a diverse clientele and from what I saw, does a great job with everyone. He specializes in men’s cuts, so if you are a man and need a cut, don’t hesitate. I had fun, got a great haircut, and finally found a barber in the city that made me feel comfortable. All for $ 15!

Didn’t want to post this for the longest time, because I wanted to keep him on the low, but at some point you just have to call it like you see it. Like many other places in the area, Mike just happened to be near my office, but that’s where the similarities end. Best barber in the neighborhood hands down. Reasonable price, good cut, but, most importantly, Mike makes you feel like family. Netflix playing on the TV, good conversations and, of course, solid service — every time!

Solid job. Friendly barber. Efficient and skilled. I am not a fan of the wait. They need more barbers! I waited like 35 minutes.

Great haircut and great price! For those complaining about patches or «tufts of hair that were just missed,» you shouldn’t have«okayed» your cut before leaving. I didn’t have that experience and Mike is clearly someone who would work to get your haircut right!

I really wanted to like this place. It’s close to work. It’s just the kind of place I like to get my hair cut — old school gentleman’s barber shop. Hot towel is a nice touch. But the cut wasn’t that good. It was patchy with tufts of hair that were just missed. I found myself back home with a scissors in the bathroom fixing it myself. Seemed to rush through it. And, can’t prove it, bu I got the sense that his regulars got better service. Nothing wrong with that I guess but I doubt I’ll be back.

Really great little place in lower Manhattan. Cuts are $ 16, but you should really round that up to $ 20 with a tip. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Discreet, efficient but haircut was uneven. I went back 20min after I left highlighting that it was uneven. He modified but it was still uneven. I’m aware it’s only $ 20($ 15+tip) but it’s disappointing.

My only reason for not giving 5 stars would be keeping the place on-the-low. Mike is great, he takes his time and delivers great haircuts. Place is not too crowded, clean, light and also has that backstreet basement feel to ad to the experience. Even if it doesn‘t look awesome to you from the outside, have a go. He’s a great pro.

Went looking for affordable haircut and found Mike’s. Mike asked me what I wanted and then 10 minutes later he was done. He seemed to instinctively know the proper cut w/o hesitation. Nice hot towel at the end. Best deal by far @ $ 15. Other places are $ 19 to $ 23, can’t beat Mike. I’ll be a customer as long as it lasts.

Great hair cut — all the way around — from the top of my head, to my eyebrows and mustache. He asked and then cut it just the way I wanted it. Added bonus — puts a moist hot towel at the end — feels great! Open 7 days, except after sundown on Fridays and all day on Saturday. Great value too — $ 15. Just walk down the stairs and to the right.

Best haircut, best value — Mike does a great job cutting hair and every time I go to Mike’s I literally get a perfect haircut, good conversation and come out feeling great. I’d highly recommend.

I highly recommend getting your hair cut at Mike’s. He is a class act and gives a great haircut. The pricing can’t be beat at only $ 15 for a cut. Great spot to drop by during lunch hour or right after work on the way home. Also as an added bonus on these dog days of summer when you’re sweating like a melting popsicle: the AC is always blasting!
