Heads To Tails Of NYC

Be wary of the questionable facilities and handlers at Heads To Tails! Heads To Tails was my 5-​year-​old dog’s favorite place for day care. I would board her on trips, but then started to notice scratches on her muzzle and scabs under her fur. I overlooked this as rough, puppy play, but my vet had concerns this was more than just tug-​of-​war battle wounds.
Furthermore, a pair of French bulldogs began to harass and agitate my dog. The staff made me aware and I explicitly requested the Frenchies kept separate from my dog. Regardless, I returned from work one evening and was told by a woman at the front desk my dog was not allowed to ever return to day care because she was aggressive to other dogs. Apparently there was an incident with the Frenchies. No warning, phone call or any attention prior to this immediate expulsion. The handler said, «you may… possibly be able to bring her back for grooming services.» Would I be returning for grooming? Not a chance.
Please be cautious about leaving your furry companions with these un-​professionals. I seldom publish reviews, let alone negative reviews, because I reserve my voice for exceptional cases. However, this experince left me compelled to share my story with others so that they may protect the health and well-​being of their pets.

We’ve been bring our dog here for over a year and we have no complaints. She loves running around and playing with the other dogs. She is treated and cared for very well. I recommend Heads to Tails to anyone that asks for day care services.

First time utilizing a daycare for our mini dachshund. I was nervous about leaving him… it was misplaced worry. He was calm and happy when I picked him up. This was a great find! Nuggen says, «thank you Heather».

I’m an UWSider but used Heads to Tails on recommendation by an UES friend, and have to say the experience was great. We have a Chihuahua who normally isn’t the most sociable of chaps, yet he was in perfectly good spirits when we came to pick him up on the two occasions we have used HtoTs. The staff were great and very friendly, and will continue to use them when i’m away on business.

The WORST grooming job. I discussed in detail the grooming instructions with the receptionist and they ended up doing the complete opposite. The groomer said she thought the instructions seemed wrong, but didn’t bother to call. Instead my dog’s hair was completely shaved off. My dog left shaking and seemed disturbed by the entire experience. They also did not have a record of the appointment that I scheduled several days before. Stay away – I wish that I did.

I am the most over protective parent of a beautiful 5 pound Maltese. I dont even let my friends watch her.
However, I feel guilty leaving her home all day so I started taking her to Heads and Tails for daycare.
They take wonderful care of her. Their facilities are clean and safe and I worry a little less each time she is there. This is the only daycare I would take my baby to.
