New ownership! As with most other reviewers, I had not liked the prior owner, but went in last night and got an excellent manicure from the new owner, Angela. Great job on my nails and very pleasant to chat with. Can’t wait to see ow it will look after she renovates in February

I had a horrible experience with the owner of this place and will NEVER go back — unfortunately the girl that actually did my nails all the time is so sweet and professional — the owner is a bossy, money hungry(cannot say it on this site). I lost my card for free pedicure after 7 visits and she knows me from going in there but lost my wallet so was so upset about that — asked her if I could get my free service as my girl vouched she knew I was due but she said not without card — I decided to stay but then the more I thought about it the angrier I got — this woman would rather lose a customer than $ 15 or whatever it costs for just pedicure — I am all about the princple and when I went in and told her I am not coming back she yelled(while working on a customer) yeah yeah get out yeah yeah get out — real professional — I wouldn’t recommend going there as she only sees dollar signs and not the person — Michele is her name — you will know who she is the minute you walk in — doesn’t speak proper English and loud and obnoxious — all about getting your business. I wish my girl would go to a place where the owners are nice! I am so DONE wouldn’t go back now if they offered me a free month of service which would never happen with this woman

Walked in here to get my shellac removed, but only because its around the corner from my apt. They charged me $ 5 to remove the shellac and $ 25 for a fresh coat, which at first glance looked fine but is actually terrible on day two. Even if a pedi is only $ 15 with her«coupons» I will not be back.

This place is very bad. The owner woman kept talking instead of concentrating on the job. Then the man painted the nails which didn’t last one even one evening. Another $ 10 just to fix their mess. Not happy.

This place is horrible! Not only are he owners the only two there, it explains a lot why it’s just them. Okay yes it’s cheap salon but you def get what you paid for and I paid for a mani that was worst then what I can do myself. And your screwed if their both doing someone you will just have to come back in 2 hours! Not to mention how pushy the woman is telling me to wax my brows trying to give me deals. She did my mani and her husband did my color which was so bad and it was shellack never again.

Okay, I have to take a few stars off this place. Initially I was very complimentary, acknowledging this was a budget operation(Red Door Spa this is not). Now the gloves are off. They are WAY too pushy when it comes to waxing. Staring at my face while getting a manicure telling me that my eyebrows are a mess and need to be waxed. That is way out of line. I did let them wax my eyebrows once and it came out HORRIBLE. My brows were uneven. I am not even going into this book they make you sign prior to your wax saying that they do the best waxing in New York. They also aren’t as meticulous about cleaning as other places are. Not that this place is dirty, but you don’t get that same pristine feel. I also don’t like the bathroom(if you can call it that). It is in the salon surrounded by what looks like plywood with a curtain. You can hear everything that the person is doing in there(Yuck!!) and there is no sink. You have to come outside to wash your hands. I may go back for a quick, cheap manicure but that’s about it.

Initially was happy with the mani/pedi special here, but more recently had an awful experience that has led me to never go back. Michelle, «the waxing expert», was very pushy and rather rude. While doing my mani, she commented on my engagement ring being pretty, but not as large as hers. Then she asked who did my last eyebrow wax, because it looked«very horrible». Then, she literally pushed me into her waxing room, promising a free wax. I was taken aback and a bit confused(partially by the language barrier and partially because it was just so weird) and followed her because she had my carried my purse into the waxing room. She proceeded to wax my brows and then demanded that I write a «satisfied customer» note/recommendation in her notebook. Well, it did hurt and I did have a red rash for a few days afterwards, both things that she promised would not happen. And of course, when I paid my bill, the waxing charge was included(aka, not free afterall!) Still a bit stunned by the whole incident, I paid and left, but I will never go back! There are much better places in the neighborhood for weekday mani/pedi in the $ 25 range, where you will be treated with respect and as a valued customer. This is not one of them.

This place is my go to nail salon mainly for location and not quality. Michelle is adorable and always knocks off a few bucks since I go there soo much. Open until 10pm which is perfect for working late. If your not looking for a luxury manicure, east ny is your best bet
