Doggedly Devoted

I would definitely recommend Doggedly Devoted (DD) for both training and daycare.
I’m a first-​time dog owner, and I knew I needed/​wanted to get «professional help» to learn how to train my dog, a very energetic pit bull mix named Pennie. I met with Megan, DD’s owner, a few times with Pennie. Megan really helped me to understand Pennie’s temperament and taught me the best way to train Pennie specifically.
I had such a good experience with Megan and her training, I wanted Pennie to attend DD’s daycare (a neighbor’s dog goes there and absolutely loves it). Unfortunately, after Pennie’s assessment, Megan didn’t think Pennie was the right fit due to her pushiness with other dogs, which might case trouble. Although I was disappointed, I really respected the fact that Megan was honest and obviously was not looking to just make money by accepting all dogs. I believe that DD has a very high standard when it comes to dog acceptance in order to minimize risk to both the dogs and DD’s staff. And after seeing how dogs interact at the dog park, it’s easy to see why; just one movement can cause major chaos, which is what DD is trying to avoid. Fortunately, I was able to find another daycare that accepted Pennie (where she is very happy), but I do think DD really is the gold standard in terms of safety and feedback (DD posts photos and gives feedback to owners regularly, which Pennie’s daycare doesn’t do).
Even though Pennie doesn’t attend DD’s daycare, I still am in contact with Megan, who is always gracious enough to take the time to answer all my questions in detail. And I still continue training with Megan; right now, she’s teaching me how to read dog body language so that I can keep Pennie and others safe, especially when she’s around other dogs at dog runs.
It’s obvious that Megan and her staff are incredibly professionally knowledgeable and truly care about the well-​being and happiness of all dogs; I don’t think a dog owner can ask for more than that!

We loved Doggedly Devoted! We have a golden doodle and after moving to NYC found we needed some re-​training on some things to help us in the park. Megan was fantastic. She responded quickly to my request about more information for their services. I was very appreciative that she made sure to talk through everything I was looking for to ensure if she was able to help me before making an appointment to come in. The training has really helped our pup! We definitely recommend to anyone who wants a knowledgeable and friendly trainer! Thanks Doggedly Devoted!

Without hesitation we highly recommend Doggedly Devoted. Our dog has been attending daycare (and occasional boarding) for almost two years — beginning when we adopted him. Megan and her staff were fantastic in helping him settle in. He has some special needs and they have accommodated him and helped us train him and we have seen him flourish. The variety of daycare options makes it possible for him to attend twice a week and the pick-​up/​drop-​off service is a huge help. He always comes home happy and tired. Don’t underestimate how much more manageable a dog who is tired after a ½-​day or full day of activity is.
When we use the boarding service, we never worry for a moment about our little guy. He plays all day and is totally secure. If we forget something, they look out for the dog and we work it out when we get back.
The facility is very clean and bright, the staff members are all well-​trained and attentive, and we really feel we get a lot of value for our money. We are very glad Doggedly Devoted is in the neighborhood.

I can’t say enough good things about Megan and her staff @ Doggedly Devoted. They are very professional, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about the pups who go to daycare. Our dog (a very enegrgetic & young pittie mix) can sometimes be CRAZY (good and bad) and they were very patient and helpful with her. We even took advanage of some training sessions and Megan taught us some very practical tips that helped her behavior all around.
We have since moved away from Harlem to Brooklyn, and I have searched high and low for another daycare that measures up. We were very spoiled by DD, and I still have yet to find another daycare that I am comfortable with. Everyone on staff is very helpful and the space is amazing — and I love that they enforce a limit to # of dogs allowed each day. Some daycares will take as many as they can get and it’s just bad news.
All in all — 5 stars! You won’t be disappointed with Doggedly Devoted!

We can’t say enough about Doggedly Devoted. We adopted our dog Moteq 1 ½ years ago and she was terrified of EVERYTHING – walks outside, dogs, people, you name it. We thought we’d try taking her to Doggedly as we’d had a great experience there with our previous dog. We couldn’t walk her the mile at first, she was just too scared, so we rented a Zipcar on those mornings to get her there. With time, expertise, and patience, the owners and staff and Doggedly have really helped Mo come out of her shell. She is confident, loves dogs and people, and gets so excited when we get to the door in the morning (and yes, we walk – both ways). We love this place – 5 stars isn’t enough.

As are most dog owners, I’m very picky when it comes to where my buddy spends the day. Over the years I’ve lived in NYC, I’ve used various daycare and boarding places, and Doggedly Devoted is at the front of the pack. At pickup, I would get a full debriefing of everything he did that day — complete with photos and «report card.» Considering how much Meghan, Christian, and the entire staff, knew about my dog and all his quirks, they were clearly very attentive. From your first day there, it’s clear they are also experts at dog behavior. It’s not easy finding a place where I can rest assured that my dog will be well taken care of while I’m away but Doggedly Devoted gave me great peace of mind!

I’m a very careful shopper when it comes to dog services, and so when a neighbor recommended Doggedly Devoted to me for doggy day care I went personally to check them out. I was impressed with the owner, Megan, for a number of reasons. She insists on limiting the number of dogs she takes to ensure each dog has plenty of room to move around and play. In the case of big dogs, that’s 75 sq. ft. What other Manhattan dog daycare is so careful? The dogs all also get short individual walks during the midday two-​hour naptime so they can have personal human attention. In addition, Megan is certified in dog training by CPDT (look them up), whose high bar for certification includes 300 hours of training. It’s one thing to operate a doggy day care because you love dogs. It’s another to run it with expert knowledge of your clients.

Doggedly Devoted is absolutely wonderful! I recently moved out of state and I don’t think I’ll ever find another daycare or staff more dedicated to the well being and happiness of their doggy clients and their owners. The owners Megan and Blossom and the whole staff are friendly, patient, well organized and highly trained in dog behaviors and safety. My pit-​mix Lennon actually became better behaved and responded to me more after just a few months of going to weekly daycare. Not to mention he came home every day after doggy day care exhausted and happy! They even have monthly wag-​n-​wine nights which are a lot of fun. Doggedly Devoted is such a wonderful member of the Harlem community and such a life saver on days I need to work late or to let Lennon burn off some extra energy and socialize with his friends. I can not recommend them highly enough!

From the first time I walked by and saw the renovations with the big blue paw print, I have been a fan of Doggedly Devoted. Megan, Blossom, and their staff are helpful, friendly and very good with our four legged family members. I think it’s important that the dogs who are a part of the Doggedly Devoted family get interviewed and screened for behavior and temperament compatibility. Megan is very knowledgeable about caring for dogs of all ages and sizes. She is constantly striving to make her love and dream for Doggedly Devoted be awesome.
My Chinese Crested, Ginger, can be a chicken… even a stand off-​ish dog. She loves to play but on her own terms and it takes her quite some time to warm up to dogs and people. I have taken her to another doggy daycare, she didn’t like to go with whoever took her to the play area, and when I picked her up, she couldn’t WAIT to get out of there. But our first interview with Megan, Ginger warmed up relatively quickly. I took her to some Wag and Wine events (great events, FREE) and I have tried a few of the daycare packages Doggedly Devoted offers.
Ginger has been a 2x per week visitor, a 3x per week visitor, and continues to go at least once a week! I’m sure she’d love to go more often. I appreciate that there are different packages suited for different needs of doggy owners. I am SUPER appreciative that Doggedly Devoted has expanded their «take home» service to my block too. It has really helped with giving Ginger more socializing time, she actually PLAYS and pulls me to go to Doggedly, and I have more freedom to socialize myself!
Special note: when the explosion happened nearby, I was at work already and super worried about Ginger, home alone, etc. Megan, even though she was very busy answering phone calls and emails from people checking on their dogs and the facility, was able to send someone from her great staff to go get Ginger for me so I would feel comfortable knowing she was safe.
Every business has growing pains but I am confident that Megan has the ability to manage and improve the facility, expand her services, and fix any administrative hiccups. I have had NO issue with her responsiveness, nor any paperwork complications. Thank you, Doggedly Devoted, for coming to our neighborhood!

I am extremely disappointed with Doggedly Devoted. I reached out to them based on a recommendation. I scheduled an appointment/​screening for my two pups recently. Prior to my visit, Megan requested that I send her my pups medical history. Which I did without hesitation (without hesitation: key word here).
During my visit, I received and completed their required forms. Upon completion, I asked Megan if she could scan/​copy what I submitted so I could keep a record on file. She mentioned a currently technical issue copying at the time, however, she offered that I take a blank form with me. I declined simply because it was only appropriate to have a copy of what I filled out. She stated she would follow up.
The next morning, Megan sent a link but it contained the blank form. Although I expressed appreciation, it mentioned it wasn’t what I requested. She then wrote back that I should pick up a copy when I visited again. I responded with my fax # and said that if she prefer to drop it in the mail when she had a moment, that was fine, mentioning my preference was not to carry paperwork.
Megan’s response to me on email was for me to look for other dog day cares. Blew me away because the simplest request that should be offered as a standard practice, she turned into an issue. Each day care I screened, scanned or copied the form and sent it to me via email or fax.
It’s important for Megan to receive a copy of paperwork from every consumer but it’s not a priority for her to do similar.
Too bad when businesses don’t appreciate customer service. My business was a potential small windfall because two of my neighbors wanted me to go first and rely on my recommendation to bring their combined 3-​other dogs. Poor service and I would not recommend this business.
I didn’t want to give even a ½ star but the system wouldn’t allow it.

I can’t say enough positive things about doggedly devoted. Megan and her staff are as professional and accommodating as you could ever hope for. Megan knows an incredible amount about dogs and I am confident when I leave our dog that he will have a safe, fun and exhausting time! From posting photos daily to their Facebook page and providing daily reports on each dog at the end of each day, the staff at Doggedly Devoted do everything they can to make you feel great about choosing them to care for your beloved pooch. I am so thankful we found them!

What can I say about Doggedly Devoted other than they are wonderful. I mostly work from home and having a very playful 1 ½ year old 45 pound dog was getting to be too much. From the interview process to the daily daycare, Megan and her team were very professional and attentive to our Edgar. We would take Edgar twice a week and it was enough that he could burn off all of the puppy energy, leaving me with a calm, and sweet dog that mostly sleep next to me when I work.
The facilities are very clean and they have separate rooms to keep incompatible dogs separate. While the facilities are great for dogs to play, they are also good with discipline and I appreciate that they control aggressive dogs and will even reject dogs that do not play well with others.
We use DD for boarding of our dog as well and appreciate knowing the dogs are not kenneled, but sleep with the attendant overnight.

Doggedly Devoted was just what our Harlem neighborhood needed. It is clear from the way that they run their business; the owners and staff truly care for dogs and their people.
I have brought in my very energetic (and deaf) Australian Shepherd in for daycare as well as boarding. I was worried that his deafness would be a problem, as many other facilities told me they were not trained to handle him. Meghan immediately did research and told me it would be no problem! I have no worries when I send him there. They send detailed email updates, as well as take pictures on facebook to show the dogs are doing, which is a nice reassurance. The also send home a daily report card when you pick up your pet detailing their stay (very cute).
The facility is impeccably clean (a must) and open to allow dogs maximum play space.
In addition to daycare, they host practical training workshops for pet owners that end up being very individualized. In addition, they have recently opened their doors to the bully project, an organization that offers free obedience classes to owners of pit bulls and similar breeds. This truly shows an attachment to the community and its needs.
I would absolutely recommend Doggedly Devoted to anyone in the city

This place is great! Megan and her staff truly care about the happiness, health, and well being of the dogs that are there for boarding and daycare.
My fiancé and I have boarded our puppy, Turk, at Doggedly Devoted for 4 nights when we were on vacation in August, and we have also had him there for daycare (you can see pictures of him having a great time online at their Facebook page — another reason why they are awesome!). When we boarded him, we were so nervous about leaving him, but Megan and the Doggedly Devoted staff put our mind at ease by sending us constant updates and posting pictures of him playing online. He was having a blast! After boarding him there, we knew that we would never take him anywhere else for boarding or daycare. He loves it! Matter of fact, when we bring him in, he is so eager and excited to be there that he forgets that we are leaving him at all! It is truly a perfect place for Turk, and I would highly recommend it to any dog owner.

My wife and I had to be out of town and needed a dog sitter on short notice for our two pugs, Brodhi and Clyde. Our pugs are members of our family, so we were very cautious when looking for a boarding facility. Fortunately, we told a friend about our dilemma and she recommended Doggedly Devoted.
We took the pugs to visit the facilities and were very impressed. It is very clean and well lit, and there is a huge room for the pups to play in. Our boys are old (9 and 11), so we weren’t sure how much they would want to play. Luckily, there is a space that they could go to be alone when they got too tired.
Megan was very nice and sent us updates on the pugs progress via Facebook. The pictures were great, especially when there was a «pug party» and Brodhi and Clyde got to hang with their new friend Tallulah. Our boys were very well cared for. Brodhi needs eye drops every night, and that was not a problem at all.
We will definitely be going back to Doggedly Devoted. We feel very comfortable with them caring for our pugs. Thanks again to all the staff for taking such good care of them!

Megan at Doggedly Devoted has been such a great resource and support system as we help our adult dog deal with some ongoing anxiety issues. She created a really sound training program to deal with this specific issue and has been checking in on us, offering guidance along the way. I feel confident that we can help our dog become a little less anxious and know that if we backslide we can count on Megan to guide us through the bumpy spots.

We love Doggedly Devoted! And more importantly so does our dog. The staff are excellent and clearly love and care about the dogs. We signed up our puppy for 3 days a week of daycare and he is a changed dog! Happy, socialized and very excited to go to Daycare. He comes home exhausted after non-​stop playing, walking and tons of love. I couldn’t recommend it any higher.
