I am besides myself with this groomer. My wife and I are fairly new to the neighborhood. We generally use Groomingdales on the UES (which is terrific), but needed a quick cut in the area. Although they managed to squeeze us in, the service stopped there. After a few hours, my wife came to pickup our maltese. She was presented with the bill and paid with an amex. After signing the bill and tipping the shop-​keep 20% she was informed that they cut our dog under his arm and used medical glue to seal his skin together. Offering no reduction in price or apologies. I followed up with the owner numerous times to no avail. I even had our vet write a lengthy email to the groomer explaining that they handled it incorrectly and risked the health of our dog. After all of this, Melissa refused to comp the service. Will not use again and neither should you!

We brought our 3-​year old Shih Tzu/​Westie mix in today for the full service treatment — bath, grooming, toothbrushing and even the anal gland expression. From the moment I called to make the appointment, I knew Otto was going to be in good hands. Otto’s groomer, Matt, did a wonderful job all around — especially since he was calm during the process. Sometimes he gets irritable during bathing, but the folks at Paw Prints treated him with gentle hands, and reported he was well-​behaved through it all — a true sign he had a good experience.
Another pleasant surprise for us — Paw Prints is LGBT-​friendly. They have a rainbow paw print on the door, so they’re ok with gay dogs — and their gay owners. Seeing that made us even more at ease with leaving Otto with them.
If your dog needs a bath, a haircut or any other canine-​specific service, I highly recommend Paw Prints! We’ll definitely be back!

Paw Prints of Harlem, Melissa and Diane, I cannot say enough when it comes to trusting them and their genuine commitment to caring for the animals they are handling. I can attest to that — I have a twelve year old dog who, although extremely good natured, is anything but easy to care for, walk, or groom since he suffered a serious injury a few years ago and needs to be handled with extreme patience and vigilance at all times. He leaves little room for mistakes when handling him and it was a huge leap initially to let others care for him. Since this is not something to put on someone else I did not have anyone walk him or groom him for quite some time until I met Melissa, when she was opening the business three or so years ago.
I trust her with him and anyone should know Melissa is easily to be trusted with all ‘normal’ pet needs. We love them for what they have done for us, it falls well beyond good service. It is decent, kind and ethical people doing a great job.

Call today and got an appointment within two hours and my dog came out looking amazing and smelling sweet pea vanilla Very happy with service and how good they handle my pup. Will definitely come again.

Okay so today I took my dog here for a bath and ear cleaning. And she looks and smells great! She’s so happy and so am I. I’m updating my review to reflect that past is water under the bridge. They were very professional. Thank you!

I have been using Paw Prints of Harlem regularly for the last yr & can honestly say Melissa & her team are some of the nicest people I’ve ever used for pet care… like, EVER! All of the great reviews are absolutely deserved. There’s literally a doggie daycare on my block yet I happily transport my pup over from East Harlem. She truly goes above & beyond in terms of service & dedication towards her fur-​clients & their owners. And while I look forward to the daily pics/​videos, I never worry about a thing when I’m away. Melissa and the team at Paw Prints took the BEST care of my newly adopted stray cat Dilemma for a week. They sent daily photos/​videos so I stopped worrying about her after the first day. Melissa from Paw Prints was so quick in fixing this issue with the late pick up fee. Unfortunately My phone was lost while she was trying to reach out to me. The quick fix, and the professionalism that the staff showed in correcting this error speaks volumes for their professionalism.

I’ve come here a few times to get my pug’s nails cut. Her nails are really difficult because she has long quicks which makes it really hard to get them cut without drama and blood.
Well last Saturday I went in and got Matt. When she came back from her trip to the dungeon torture chamber in the basement (she screams and cries like they’re stealing her soul but she’s a bit of a drama queen.) I looked at her feet expecting to see bloody stumps but Matt said there was no blood and after looking I saw that her nails were short and smooth.
He said he used a grinder to smooth them out. Great job! Really the best she’s had.
I used to go to another place downtown that I won’t mention (rhymes with Schmisckets and Schmath) where they charge like $ 25 and finish in 2 minutes. But here at $ 16 and the great job they do I can give an even $ 20, I save money and they get a tip.
It’s a win win… except for the pug.

I have been using Paw Prints of Harlem for over a year and just realized that I’ve never given Melissa and her staff the rave review they deserve. While Baci (my pomeranian) is a sweetie and pretty cooperative, her hair is not. Nonetheless, the staff always take the best care of her and leave her looking adorable. I’ve had multiple groomers at Paw Prints and have never had an issue. I’m so happy to support Melissa and her business in Harlem. Keep up the good work!

We had used Paw Prints to watch our cat a few times and everything was fine but on the last sitting our cat was traumatized. We came home early to find that the sitter had skipped four meals and didn’t clean out the litter box. Our tiny kitty was not in good shape. It is a sad thing to come home to.
Staff has been nice but this is an unacceptable way to treat an animal that is dependent on you. The sitter also lied about the visit in the online updates. BE CAREFUL. I HOPE THAT THIS DOESN’T HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE.

Dianne groomed Max, my very aggressive Shih Tzu. She gave him one of the best cuts he has ever gotten. The precision was amazing. She is a very brave and talented woman.

I took my lil doggie here and I’m so glad I did. She was a matted mess. Ieft her in the hands of a really nice young lady by the name of Genera. She did an excellent job and I will be bringing my lil Gigi back for maintenance and possible day care as well. Really nice people. The receptionist was very helpful. I pray that this business expands to other locations. I’ll be back guys.

My aunt told me about paw prints after running into a client walking their dog and told me it was the cutest cut she’s ever seen. After reading the reviews I decided to take my dog teddy for a visit today and I had a very pleasant experience and I am beyond pleased with the grooming ! I have taken him to several places that have ignored my requests and just chopped him up and handed him back for $ 100, which as you can imagine, is very upsetting. The store front was extremely clean and fresh smelling, their was no product pushing or package pushing in order to up the price. They did exactly what I wanted and took him right on time and finished earlier than I had expected. I completely recommend and will be returning back.

Our dog came out clean and seemed to be treated well. However, the buzz cut he got was very spotty. There were some awkward nearly raw patches. Pretty pricey for such poor work ($ 80 for a small dog: though, they call 15 pounds «medium»).
My girlfriend paid and was treated rudely by the clerk. She mentioned the ad in the dog park that said, «Mention this ad and get 10% off» and the clerk said, «Well, I don’t know about that ad». She was instructed to go back to the dog park and take a picture of the ad to prove it.
Probably not coming back.

Paw Prints is such a nice addition to the neighborhood! While they’re notably pricier than other grooming spots, they get my vote for always being able to fit my dog in, sometimes early in the morning. I appreciate that the groomers seem knowledgeable and to genuinely enjoy animals. You definitely pay for quality, and that’s what you get here.

I made an appointment for overnight boarding for my little pug. I love that they provide email updates and video of your pet. Everyone that I encountered was really nice. I hope to use them again in the future.

In the past I have taken my dog to expensive groomers downtown and have always been displeased. These reviews are true! Paw Prints is very professional, efficient, and fast. They groomed my dog perfectly and to my liking. I could tell my dog was happy there; he didn’t want to leave!

I’m a first time dog owner. My Zoe is a 7 month old mini goldendoodle. I love her puffy fluff, but I thought it was time for a trim. I was nervous because I’ve read that people are often disappointed with their groomers because they give them a «poodle cut» rather than a «doodle cut».
I went on Unilocal and Paw Prints of Harlem came up. I made an appointment for a Saturday. The place is very welcoming, cute and clean. I was greeted right away and asked what I was looking to do. I went all out and got the package that had it all (nails, hair cut, bath, ears). I did tell them I didn’t want her shaved too low, specially in the face. I was told it would take about 2 hours, I went around the corner to Harlem Tavern to grab a bite. When I came back and saw Zoe… I was shocked… in a GOOD way. I couldn’t believe that was my dog! She looked AWESOME! I honestly didn’t know she could look like that! The moment we stepped out we had people complimenting how cute she was.
I booked my appointment for this Sunday for a bath. The have a special «Pup & Fluff» for $ 30.
I do have to point out my awkward moment. When it was time to pay, I let the husband take care of it. He used his American Express, we walked out and I asked him «how much did you tip?». He says «oh, there was no tip option when I paid. I didn’t.» I was so embarrased — I ran back to tip them cash. Sorry about that… first timers.
That being said, thank you Paw Prints of Harlem for allowing our first grooming experience to be painless.
