Lurie Daniel Favors is the founder of Daniel Favors PLLC, a NY law firm that seeks economic justice & helps people with money problems become financially empowered. DFL focuses on economic justice, consumer debt defense & bankruptcy protection. The firm promotes financial education for communities that have been historically burdened by debt. In addition to finance issues, DFL also represents victims of police brutality.

Prior to opening DFL, Ms. Favors was a corporate finance associate in the New York offices of Manatt Phelps & Phillips and at Proskauer Rose. She served as a law clerk in the Chambers of the Honorable Sterling Johnson, Jr., in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Before graduating from NYU School of Law, Ms. Favors co-​founded Sankofa Community Empowerment, Inc. («SCE»), a non-​profit organization that creates & implements youth, community & economic development programs that empower racially & economically disenfranchised communities.
