Cook Travel

I have to rescind my latest update. Cook travel contacted me today by phone. The agent gave some believable excuses about how we went awry. He also offered some additional future discounts to try to win me back. I have decided to not take advantage of the offer. In the end, It was 4 months before they tried to make this right. But at least, in the end, they did try. I won’t use them again, but maybe others will be more forgiving.

Updating my review from 11/​17/​2013 in light of management’s reply (2 years later, on 4÷9÷2015). Management’s reply: «Told you not to fly them» — Not true. Actually, I had never heard of the airline before. Your agent recommended it. You could not know that because the agent with whom I spoke was no longer employed after the problem arose. We never spoke with you when booking the flight. Management’s reply: «.. . the airline offered to fly you the next day.» You’re making this up. The next open seat on that airline was more than a week later because they had great prices. Management’s reply: «you must reconfirm flights in a foreign country, particularly with small no-​name airlines.» Actually, we had confirmed seats and tried to check in 5 hours ahead of time, before leaving for the airport. It was already too late; the flight was taking off. The airline notified your company of the flight change (rather than us, as that’s how the agent set up the ticketing) that the flight was moved up by half a day. Your company was supposed to have notified us. «We offered to split the difference» — This is simply not true. You didn’t even offer to help get a reimbursement from the airline. The airline blamed your company and provided the date and time when they notified you through SABRE, which we forwarded to you. You took no responsibility at all and were hostile and uncooperative. «You did get two transatlantic flights at a considerable discount» — I wish this were the case. My advice to others seeking to work with an agency is to find another.

I’ve been using Cook travel for about 10 years to book business class from the U.S. to Australia. They find great deals for me that you can’t find online and the customer service from Katrina is always outstanding. I use them every time I fly internationally for vacations.

I have been contacted by the president and my agent at Cook Travel after my review of my experience, and I have to say that they have me back as a costumer, i believe everyone is due a second chance and they were very professional in their attention to my situation

This outfit, from my two experiences, seems to be a joke. They indicate certain rates are available, but cannot deliver. Then they go silent. Unfortunately, one tends to stick with an agent even though the rate may go away, so the silence is offputting. My experience is that trying to do business with Cook is a waste of time

These guys took care of my tricky itinerary seamlessly, and saved me a couple thou in the meantime. Very helpful. Seems like they have specialists for all over the globe.

Purchased 4 business class tickets to Asia, one of which should have been priced at a child’s fare. Knuckleheads at Cook charged me for an adult fare. My advice is to go with someone who knows how to book tickets.
