I absolutely love this place*****5 stars all around*****I love there so called Magic sauce(teriyaki sauce) I always order the beef plate with extra salad dressing it’s Bomb and brown rice… It’s a healthy alternative for fast food and it’s not expensive at all compared to all the other crap fast food restaurants

Fresh and made to order, which is always a plus, but the tofu bowl was just ehhh. Not much for flavor and even after I put the magic sauce and the hot sauce on it, it was still ehhh. The brown rice was moist and cooked well – not to mushy. And the steamed beggar mix was good, but everything definitely needs sauce, which is loaded with sugar. At $ 8 for a veggie bowl, I’ll pass next time. However, if you’re going for a. Meat bowl, All of those items looked and smelled delicious!

I will never go to this Manhattan Beach location again! I have gotten veggie chicken bowls from this location about five times in the last two weeks. Yesterday I ordered white meat with veggies only no Rice and payed the upgrade for the white meat. When I got home I realized I had received the wrong bowl with rice and dark meat. I went back today to receive my correct bowl and all I asked for was to not have to pay for the white meat upgrade since I already paid that yesterday and did not receive it, the lady who owns the place happened to be walking in as I was ordering and said no I should’ve brought the bowl back yesterday for a replacement. Very lame customer service lady! You just lost a good customer! Had I not liveed 5 miles away and just around the corner I would’ve brought it in for a replacement!

Always delicious and prompt during lunch rush. Every time I’ve gone it’s the same trusty cashier. I could be wrong but I think his name is Matt. Anyways he is always polite and helpful when ordering. If ever there is a second that the register doesn’t have a customer he keeps himself busy with other odds and ends around the restaurant. Running from the back room(kitchen possibly?) to the front, restocking and, keeping a tidy dining area.

I love flame broiler. It’s healthy, quick, and cheap. Nothing wrong with this location, but I did call in my order, and when I got there and told the lady at the register I had an order, I got the crazy look for a minute. Then they tried to give me two bowls instead of one, which must’ve been someone else’s order. Not a big deal really.

Healthy and delicious. I have been on weight watchers for a couple of months now and found flame broiler to fit perfectly into my healthy lifestyle. The staff is always quick and I appreciate that they are not cheap with condiments. If you want 6 magic sauces then go for it, no 25 cent charge like some places. I go here 3 times a week and it is filling and friendly. We usually go for lunch but the plate size portions make dinner a filling experience.

I don’t know about the other reviewers and why this place isn’t rated higher. It’s awesome teriyaki, very freshly made without gristle, at a very reasonable cost. I choose to get the chicken/beef bowl without rice. They give you extra vegetable if you choose this option at no extra price. It’s great.

Flew into LAX and was hungry. Wanted something fast but not greasy. Hmm, let’s see if Unilocal can help me find some teriyaki chicken. Success! Found this FB chain nearby. Walked in 30 mins before they closed on a Sunday night. Restaurant was clean, service was fast and friendly, food was fresh and warm. Parking was ample and lit. One unisex bathroom, it was reasonably clean. Overall a good healthy fast food choice near LAX.

This is a frequent spot for us. Plenty of food at a great price… I always get«add extra meat» as its only a few dollars more. Lindsey and her crew are quick, friendly, and always on point… She was even extremely quick and helpful to fix a situation out of her control when their pos system was down and it was out of her control. Thanks guys! We will be back soon!

I started coming here recently because I work right across the street. The owner of the business is completely unprofessional and had me literally walk back and forth 4 times to fix my order because the didn’t add Rice to my «Rice Bowl». All they needed to do was give me a small side of rice. I literally work right across the street and the girl at the front confirmed I was just there. But the owner insisted I had to run back across the street and bring them my bowl! Are you kidding me. Now I have rice and my food is cold from walking it back across the street. A complete waste of my time. Learn good costumer service please or don’t run a restaurant.

Decent, healthyish, fast, terriyaki bowl served with steamed veggies and rice. Magic sauce is not terriyaki. It’s their own honey based soy sauce. Not as good. Hot sauce is a vinegar based Louisiana style hot sauce. Not a good compliment to teri bowls. Extra Extra Hot sauce is a jalpeno hot sauce. Also not a good complement. Friendly Service = 1 star Quick Tasty Chicken Bowl w Brown Rice and Veggies = 1 star $ 7 = .5 star rounded up to 1 NOSRIRACHA = –2 stars

Greatest service I’ve had in a long time, the food was freshly cooked which is the reason why I felt the need to give them a complement on Unilocal!!!Even if you don’t like The Flame Broiler give this one a shot their service and freshly cooked food will change your mind lime it did me.

Tasty. Filling. Affordable. Pretty healthy. This place gives you a lot of food for the price. It’s not gourmet, but it’s definitely not«fast food.» The staff is nice too. I recommend The Works bowl with brown rice! They don’t go stingy on the meat even though you get veggies too. In fact, last time I went I felt like I didn’t have enough rice… not going to complain of course =P

Piles of the meat of your choice atop a bed of brown rice… Love to eat like a cave girl! The regular chicken can suffer from bits of gristle. Do yourself a favor and order the white meat, which is much cleaner. I like to get extra chicken, which comes in a little bowl on the side of my big bowl. Real cave people like to double fist. Half and half is good too, half steak half chicken 100% tastetastic. The magic sauce is less than magical. It’s a sugary sweet teriyaki. Kinda gross. Instead, smother your bowl with hot sauce and devour. Good food fast. Wish we had these on the east coast.

Good for a quick, cheap lunch. However, NOT good for those who feel«embarrassed» about the calories they’re eating! They seriously put everything up right on the board. I guess they have nothing to hide. The bowl was filling, chicken was tasty and well-seasoned. It’s just… a very limited menu without something truly special(for example, In-N-Out). I’m not a vegetarian, but I would like to see some variety, like tofu, for a protein content if you don’t eat meat(or maybe salmon?) Stock up on the sauces– try all of them! Though the chicken veggie bowl + drink is a good deal!($ 6.50) Get some brown rice for some extra fiber!

My co-worker dragged me here insisting on its greatness but when I arrived, it turned out to be, essentially, a YOSHINOYA knock-off. The service was delightful, very helpful, warm, greeted me kindly and thanked me. It was so busy I had to change my order to to-go because all the tables were taken and they kindly apologize which wasn’t necessary but appreciated nonetheless. The food though was just awful. I don’t know how, or why, but they managed to cook up some of blandest, rubberiest pieces of poultry I’ve eaten in a great many years. If a dish requires sauce to be edible, why not serve it with it? I got a little to go, and later found out it wasn’t nearly enough. I needed about 8oz of sauce at least, and when something requires that much sickly sweet teriyaki, is it even worth eating in the first place? It was insanely busy, so either I’m completely wrong on this, or people have absolutely no taste whatsoever. Either way, I won’t be back and would never recommend this place to anyone that enjoys food.

I have seen ‘The Flame Broiler’ popping up everywhere. I was quite surprised when I pulled into the strip mall located on the corner of Artesia Blvd & Pacific Coast Highway and found one. This store front location used to be a frozen yogurt spot that I never observed to be open in the past year so no wonder they closed. Prior to visiting ‘The Flame Broiler’ I took a look at their website and was pleasantly surprised to see that the food served at ‘The Flame Broiler’ is dairy free, trans-fat free, does not fry their chicken or steak and add no MSG. I did a little more reading and discovered you could order either white or brown rice. I took a look at their menu and prior to my visit decided I would go with ‘the works’ bowl which consists of a mixture of chicken /beef & veggies with brown rice. I arrived shortly after the lunch rush. I timed it perfectly and managed to arrive when ‘The Flame Broiler’ was empty. I was pleasantly surprised that even after the lunch rush this place was spotless. I told the cashier that this was my first time visiting ‘The Flame Broiler.’ The cashier explained the ordering process and explained the difference between the bowls and the plates. The bowls are just that beef and/or chicken with veggies, green onions upon request. The plates are the same as just mentioned the only difference is you receive a side salad and an orange. I elected to go with the ‘The works’ bowl. I order my meat /chicken extra well done and of course added extra green onions. I found a seat near the back near the restrooms and right next to the condiment area where you can find teriyaki sauce and/or ‘The Flame Broiler’ homemade ‘hot sauce.’ I decided I would give the ‘hot sauce’ a try. I waited a few minutes and my food was ready. I was shocked at the serving size; you do get a lot bang for your buck here while keeping it healthy. I asked for an extra bowl and was told they did not provide extra bowl but would give me a plate. I dumped my bowl onto my plate and dug it. I found the food to be simply amazing. I have a very sensitive stomach when it comes to greasy food and had zero complaints. I cannot say enough positive things about the food, everything was perfect, the meat /chicken was cooked to perfection, the brown rice was cooked perfectly and still had the stickiness to it where you can tell the time and effort that was put into such a simple thing as cooking rice in a rice cooker. Prior to finishing my meal the cashier walked back to where I was sitting and asked how my meal was, I told the cashier I loved it and that I will definitely be back, the cashier responded ‘that is what we like to hear.‘ My only suggestion to this place is if patrons are dining in I would like to see ‘The Flame Broiler’ provide metal forks instead of non-sustainable plastic forks which are going straight to the landfill. With saying that there is no doubt I will be back, the next I visit I will just bring my own fork=) If you have not tried this place yet it is simply a must!!!

This a location that has had it’s demons. Started as a Fatburger, then a frozen yogurt shop(who can forget the never opened OhMy Buns!) and now the Flame Broiler. So, I was skeptical and why not, I had good reason. I stayed away to see if anyone was going. Then one day I thought… what the hell, let’s give it a go. I’m glad I did. All of us(I think) are looking for a healthy alternative for lunch and this place fits the bill perfectly. I have the works bowl and that comes with chicken(slight up charge for white meat), beef with veggies and white or brown rice. Perfecto!!! I can never finish it and it’s good about an hour later for a snack. They also have that damn magic sauce. Man, i love that. I just hope the demons stay away.
