StrandBar is located in the heart of downtown Manhattan Beach, just off the pier. It’s the perfect spot for sipping a «Sunset Over Manhattan» (clementine vodka, fresh tangarine juice, blood orange cordial) while watching the very thing it was named for. Or welcome in the evening with a «Strand House Margarita» (scratch margarita made with Sauza Hornitos tequila, agave, and lemon-​lime infused kosher salt rim). Dance the night away to our DJs spinning the hottest sounds on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

We came all the way from Hollywood to check out this place. It was a weekend– which means it was packed! But, it didn’t take the bartender too long to get us out drinks, the ocean smell and great down to earth crowded makes this bar a great spot to check if you’re in the area. The music wasn’t too mainstream (amazing! Considering the music today isn’t the best). Wish this place was a bit bigger but overall it was a good experience, and I’ll be back.

This place is terribly managed. Good bartenders, but otherwise it becomes this contrived club scene after dinner on weekends and it’s pretentious at best. Fake security is bush league and completely unnecessary.

The strand bar is fantastic! There! I said it.
The view is unbeatable, the staff attentive and the pour is pretty nice.
Sit and drink (have apps if you must) and watch the people walk by in complete jealousy. You are on the right side of the ropes my friend, well done! I’ll have another…

This place is a pretty nice spot to grab drinks in Manhattan Beach. Great view!
The downstairs bar area is fun on Saturday nights with a DJ and dance floor. Drinks are pricey, but it’s what I expected for MB. We arrived around 10pm and there was no line, but a line started to form around 11pm.
It’s located a few doors down from a pizza spot, which is great for late night cravings and drunken munchies!

Absolutely stereotyped. This is not coming from a elementary and/​or premature mindset but rather a personal and professional point of view. I called the GM Michael directly after my interaction with his venue but the voicemail was full. I would greatly appreciate a response from this business to share my experience and elaborate on the treatment that was given. This is not a gimmick or over-​exaggerated review… I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worse enemy.

Was visiting some friends and decided to stop by this bar for some drinks and dancing. It was very eccentric crowd Saturday night. The music was great though, mix of edm with pop. They had the lost boys playing on their tvs and I admit, I was more preoccupied with the movie than the crazy danceoff going on in front of me. The drinks were good and strong but also quite pricey! $ 46 for three Martinis? Yikes! They sure were pretty though!

Came here for the first time recommended by a good friend of mine. I’m glad he told me to come here especially for my birthday. I had quick service and a great view. This one goes in my book of memories. Thank you guys for the excellent service not only to me, but to the rest of my party.

We go here periodically to have drinks and watch the sunset. The atmosphere is great and having a view while sipping a couple of drinks is the best part of the Strand Bar.
The food and drinks are OK. Not bad, but not great either. Same with the service (OK, but not great). No real complaints, but there are several places within a couple of blocks that have better food, but if you want a cool place to just hang out and watch the sunset, this is the place.
Overall, this is always a good experience for us which is why we go back.
As a side note, we normally go early evening so I don’t know what it is like here for those that do the late night thing.

Went in to the downstairs bar at Strand tonight. Good crowd, good music, and attentive bartenders. A Hawaiian looking girl took care of us and had great suggestions for specialty cocktails. I think her name was G like the letter. Had the Captains daughter cocktail and The Sunset cocktail. Both refreshing martinis. Next time I might need to come in earlier and try some food.

The Strand Bar is a great place to grab a drink right after work, especially on a Friday. With the summer coming up, they leave the retractable windows up so you get that nice breeze flowing in.
Tip: On weekend nights, visit the bar upstairs for a drink if you want to escape the crowd for a bit.
