Nancy Hersman and Ellen Chao help students and their families through the often daunting process of applying to colleges. We assist students as early as 9th grade with selecting classes, planning testing timelines, exploring extracurriculars, and identifying summer opportunities. We focus on reducing the stress for students and families by working side-by-side with students to find and apply to colleges that they will be happy to attend, and will be a great fit academically, emotionally, and financially. We take a realistic, organized and practical approach to the college admissions process.

Business Owner
Nancy has been a leader in the Manhattan Beach education community for the past fifteen years. A former MBUSD school board member and Parks & Rec Commissioner and current Planning Commissioner for the City of Manhattan Beach. Nancy works with students in Young Entrepreneurs Academy and Mayor’s Youth Council. She is the parent of three college graduates who all matriculated through Mira Costa HS. Nancy is a lawyer and has completed the UCLA College Counseling Certificate program.
