This time last week I was looking, rather last minute, for a professional photographer in the South Bay to have a headshot taken for a German CV I was compiling. Fortunately for myself I discovered Sara’s website. Within the hour after contacting her she responded providing all the requested info and more regarding her services.
This was my first time having a headshot taken, in addition to working with a photographer whom I hadn’t known prior. Having booked me on the weekend (which I am still grateful for) I showed up not knowing what to really expect.
The experience I would have over the next hour was simply wonderful.
From the moment you meet Sara to discussing what it is you have in mind, you forget that you are even having a photo taken and rather are communicating with an old friend who you’ve known for ages. Being of an awkward nature myself, her approach made me forget my shyness which allowed me to focus on what I wanted.
Her facility provides you with an array of options and with her experience, she can quickly adjust the lighting or change out a backdrop if you or her believes it will suit the composition more appropriately. Her input was most valuable as having no idea myself which pose would suit best, we went through a variety in addition to different backdrops.
During the shoot and afterwards I got to preview the initial images taken. Already having been impressed by just how great she could make me look (in terms of looking hirable/​professional, not a SoCal surfer, etc) I received the final images the following day.
While I probably won’t be needing new headshots for awhile because of the quality of the ones I just received, I would certainly contact her for any other photography commissions and would highly recommend her to all. Her versatility and efficiency coupled with her passion and fun demeanor have forever changed my interpretation of photo shoots overall.

Sara did a wonderful job shooting our family photo session with our 10-​month old daughter. On the day of our shoot, she was flexible with our start time since my daughter was finishing her nap, and Sara knew exactly how to get our little baby’s attention and keep her looking at the camera! We have so beautiful shots to choose from, and it’s so great finally having a beautiful family photo to share with family and friends and to use a Christmas photocard this year! Sara recently did our family photos and they turned out wonderful! She was able to schedule is within a week for a Saturday, and then when the weather didn’t cooperate she was very flexible with rescheduling. It’s just my husband, myself and our 2 year old son… but anyone with a child that age (especially an extremely active 2 year old boy) knows how trying to get a picture with them looking, much less smiling is basically impossible. I was stressing over this for over a week, just knowing we would be in for a grueling shoot. I made sure with Sara beforehand that she didn’t have a set time of like 30 mins for the shoot, because I just knew this wouldn’t work with a 2 year old. She said she didn’t and when we got there it was just as I expected… child running everywhere and looking everywhere but the camera… even with brides. Sara was very understanding and helpful with trying to get his attention and get some good pics. When I finally saw them, she really was able to capture a lot of great smiles… which I literally didn’t think there would be even one at all! I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Sara Jordan as a wedding photographer is second to none. She is meticulous and delightful and incredibly talented. She was referred to us by our venue, the Los Angeles Athletic Club (she knows the place like the back of her hand), and we wouldn’t have gone with anyone else.
From the moment we booked her to receiving our absolutely stunning wedding photos, our experience with Sara Jordan was nothing less than outstanding. She was fully committed from day one. Even though she had tons of other clients, we always felt like we were her priority. On our wedding day, Sara arrived hours early, shooting every last detail. I found Sara on Unilocal and I cant tell you how happy I am. Well on Easter I had to put my dog down and I called Sara last minute to come out on Saturday to capture our last moments. When she came out she was so sweet and kind. I cant tell you enough how amazing she is but how amazing the quality of the pictures are. I was blown away once I received them. The detail was off the charts. WOW. I thought I could actually touch him lol. But anyways Sara does an awesome job and you can truly tell that she loves taking pictures. I will only be using Sara going forward, and I would highly recommend her hands down!!! I know that capturing animal photos is hard due to them moving around but that was not the case. She knows what she is doing.

I am so thankful that I was able to find Sara through a good old-​fashioned Google search. I was in need of a photographer to do a family photo shoot with my husband and three daughters ages 9, 6 and 8 months. I came across her website and liked what I saw so I gave her a call one Friday evening. What I loved was that she answered her phone on my first attempt. I explained to her exactly what I was looking for and we booked a shoot date. We met at Hermosa beach on a beautiful Saturday morning and I found Sara to be pleasant, professional and prepared. My family was very comfortable working with Sara and we were able to capture photos in every combination I was looking for — family photos, kids only and individual pictures of each of my girls. Sara worked nonstop for over two hours with us and we couldn’t have been happier with the results. She sent us all the digital images on a flash drive and we were blown away by how great they came out. Most of the time with family photos you just hope that at least one of the photos turns out good where everyone’s looking the same way and everyone is smiling. We definitely got this and more. Sara truly captured the spirit of each of my girls and my family as a whole. Hermosa was a crowded beach that morning but you could never tell from the photos. She made it look like we are on our own private beach.
Overall Sara was amazing — cool, easy to do business with, responsive, on time, fulfilled her commitments and most importantly a very talented photographer.

Couple of months ago, I asked Sara to take pics of all our Staff at the Salon. She did an amazing job !

I cannot say enough nice things about Sara. I went to Sara to get photos done for my business and a book cover and she was fabulous. As a first time «model» she made me feel extremely comfortable, and at ease which is key when getting photographed. She has an excellent studio space and is very talented. She helps you feel natural in your own skin, and yet gets the best out of you. She worked with me for 2.5 hours, and did not miss anything. She is also very helpful for someone that does not know what looks best in the camera, meaning she helps pick out the best outfits for you to wear. Absolutely use her!!!

Had the best experience with Sara over the past weekend. On top of being early she was very attentive and professional when we went over our shot list for the party, took a min to show me how to position myself one way over another to be shown in the best light AND made everyone feel really relaxed and less tense about being in front of the camera. She even helped me pat the wrinkles out of my fiancé’s shirt since she knew how particular I was, and would not like the shot otherwise!

Sara generously donated her time and talent to a group of young breast cancer survivors and I was lucky enough to be there. She took beautiful headshots of me that will remind me of the fun day I had with other breast cancer surivors. Plus, I had been meaning to take some nice pictures of myself to document my hair growth since losing my hair from chemo treatment and Sara did an amazing job!

Sara is a true professional, and an amazing photographer to boot. I went to Sarah to have a few professional photos taken for my business website. Personally, I am not too familiar (or comfortable) being in front of a camera — but Sarah really made me feel at ease.
