I was here in March this year(2016) and sat at a table facing the ocean. The food, ambiance, servers, cooks were awesome. Was there about three times in a week. The best ever. My favorite breakfast in Manhattan Beach.

Nice breakfast spot. Visited this on a Sunday and waited 5 minutes. Short wait and we were seated. Food is ok but scenery is great.

It’s a lazy weekday morning and you’ve just rolled out of bed. You want to eat brunch by the beach, but you don’t want to deal with the tourists and brunch denizens by the pier and more crowded areas. Want an omelette with a beautiful view of the pacific ocean, but you don’t want to have to elbow the table next to you. Come to Ocean View Café. It’s a small little spot that is not to crowded and has a good variety of different tasting food. They serve a variety of food that can be categorized as Californian/American/French food. Get your omelettes and breakfast burritos and maybe even a vietnamese spring roll or too. Prices are pretty solid for the respectable amount of food that you get. Staff is friendly and every seat is a good seat.

Food was good, and service was good. But the rude people that insist on squeezing there huge dogs in such a tiny place is animal cruelty!!! Leave them at home!

Really impressed with the food and service not to mention the view! Even on a drizzly day, the umbrellas kept us dry. Hubby ordered the Mediterranean omelet which was served with hash browns. Full of olives and flavor and cooked to perfection. Hash browns are perfect as well. I just had bacon and eggs but everything was cooked exactly as I asked. Coffee was hot and free flowing. Service was fast and courteous. So glad we decided to just find a new place today. We will be back!

Hubby and I decided to take it easy one morning that we were both off, and instead of making breakfast at home, we decided to just go to a local place and dine there. So as we walked around the area, we found this place and helped ourselves in the seating area. Boy, the view was spectacular! It was a sunny day, and there weren’t a lot of people. I was so excited that we managed to get such good seats on a great day. The servers were prompt, and friendly. The menu looked good, especially the Belgian waffles… so I ordered it. Hubby got a scrambled egg with hash and bacon. And when the food came in, I was so disappointed. So, so disappointed. The waffles were soggy, and it didn’t taste good. The picture looked so appetizing, but they didn’t deliver. Hubby’s food was underseasoned, and the hash was already cold when we got it. I couldn’t emphasize how disappointed I was, because it was such a neat place in a prime location. You’d think they would be more careful with things like these. Surely, it’s easily corrected so we still have high hopes for this place. But until then, 3 stars from me.

I was visiting a friend from LA who works in El Segundo and was so lucky to find this place as I was looking for a cute café for lunch with an ocean view, mellow vibe and wifi to work at for a bit while waiting for my friend to get off work. I LOVETHISPLACE! The food was amazing, the waiters and waitresses were super nice, and the view was out of this world. Plus like I said.. they have wifi. so I could get a bit of work done while waiting for my lunch! I liked this place so much that I brought my friend with me the next day during her lunch break… so adorable. and relaxing!!! I wish this café existed in the Bay Area(with a view of course). ps. Both times I got the HERBPIZZASANDWICH $ 11.49 MANAESHBREADBAKEDWITHTHYME, OREGANO, SESAMESEEDS, FILLEDWITHCHICKENBREAST, FETACHEESESUN-DRIEDTOMATOESANDFRESHTOMATOES.

I was looking for a very particular thing when I came to Ocean View Café: an outdoor place with a view of the ocean and wifi. It surprised me by having very friendly staff and tasty food as well. It’s tucked away from the main street, so you don’t hear the cars driving by. I will be back here soon next time I have to get some work done :)

I was pleasantly surprised by my dining experience here. My wife and I came here one morning for breakfast and despite it being Manhattan Beach, we were seated immediately and got a great table overlooking the ocean. I ordered a veggie omelet and the portion size was perfect and the price was reasonable. Overall, the dining experience was perfect. It doesn’t get much better than eating a great, quiet breakfast and getting to state at the ocean while you eat. I’ll definitely come back.

I’ve always wondered why this place is never as busy as the neighboring breakfast joint. So after navigating through a sea of people waiting for a table at that very restaurant, I arrived at Ocean View Café and got a seat right away to find out why. First, the restaurant itself. It’s a very small, simple place. There’s no indoor seating(that I could see anyway), and there’s only a small patio. It’s set in a small little alley and surrounded by homes instead of business(minus the neighboring restaurant to the east). The homes are beautiful, but the ocean view is breathtaking. Hence the name. The tables and chairs are plastic, much like you’d find in your old backyard. Also, the décor is very plain. I mean, with a view like that, why would anyone look at the tables anyway? The staff was very friendly, and quick to refill your cups. They also immediately brought water out for a dog next to us, which is always nice to see. I noticed immediately that the majority of breakfast items have chicken in them, or at least have it as an option. As a bit of a health nut, I was more than happy to give it a whirl! I tried the Agustin Omelet(chicken, tomato, avocado, american cheese, bacon) and a 7 grain Belgian almond waffle with bananas and strawberries. Both were excellent. The waffle had so much flavor that I didn’t even need syrup or butter. Seriously. So when you walk up to these two neighboring restaurants and see that one is way more packed than the other, don’t take it as a bad sign. Take the road less traveled and give this place a try at least once. If you can appreciate a «down-home» style cooking and atmosphere, you won’t be disappointed.

I came here for brunch on July 4th, but have been here a couple times in my childhood. For some reason, the food wasn’t as appealing all these years later, but that could’ve been because I(finally) didn’t order pancakes or standard breakfast fare. The view was a bit obscured by others, but man, was this a good place to get a boost of nostalgia at the beginning of the day. I ordered the Mediterranean sampler plate, which came complete with hummus and the herb pizza. The herbs on the pizza were flavorful, but the pizza crust was a bit dry. However, the hummus and the salad that came with it were a great addition. Next time I’m coming here, I’ll probably stick with the standard waffles and pancakes.

Like a lot of others here, the food was just ok, the service terrible. Got there on a Friday morning, and there were only a couple of tables that had patrons at them. We ordered, and it took forever to get food. When the food arrived, it was ok — not great. The usual thing in Manhattan Beach is — if you go to a restaurant that is wide open, when the place next to it is jammed and has a wait, don’t go. Should have trusted my instincts better. Never again.

If I could give more stars I would! I love their staff the girl who helped us really put an effort to get us seated quickly on a Sunday morning. Their Belgian waffles are to die for! Not only that but they serve fresh strawberries and sliced bananas which make the food taste even better. I can’t begin to describe how much I love eating at this café!

This restaurant is top of my list on my next trip back to Cali. The view is spectacular and the food was equally divine. Both my date and myself had the Baja burrito and coffee and I cannot tell you how wonderful this was. The Lavazza coffee has become my new favorite brand. So smooth and rich. The burrito was plentiful and delicious. Topped with avocado and stuffed with bacon, egg and cheese, the burrito was absolutely fantastic.

Walked over here to grab lunch today. They have a great location with outdoor dining along the 13th St. Walkstreet. I ordered take-out and service was prompt and waitress was friendly. Had the avocado sandwich with a bowl of lentil soup. Both were good. It reminds me of something that I would make at home. Simple and just the right portion size.
