The Language Workshop for Children (LWFC) in Manhasset is a language learning center for kids as young as six months old. The enrichment program was founded by director François Thibaut in 1973, and has gained international recognition by offering stimulating language immersion lessons in French and Spanish for babies, toddlers, and elementary school children.
The language workshop offers three types of classes:
Parent & Me (for children under three)
Children’s Classes (for children three and older)

History
Established in 1973.
Established in 1973 The Language Workshop for Children’s Director/Founder François Thibaut invented the enriched play method to teach French, Spanish, Italian and Chinese to kids. Since 1973 his internationally-recognized LWFC has offered stimulating language lessons for babies, toddlers and elementary grades. Original music, vocabulary-building songs, language immersion, festive visual aids, action games and native-fluent language teachers are why the LWFC is the country’s leader in children’s language educational play. As Thibaut says, «Children remember the words that make them happy».
Whether it’s language immersion preschool, after-school lessons, school-break programs, toddler classes, baby education or summer day camp, the subtle details of the LWFC’s celebrated Thibaut Technique and the quality of their colorful and professional take-home materials is what makes the difference.
The LWFC also offers foreign language test prep and tutoring services to older learners aged 12 – 21.

After teaching French to high school students in France and at a college in New York City, in the early 1970’s François Thibaut began working with children. He was so impressed with the ease with which youngsters learn language that he soon began focusing on developing the right technique to blend a child’s unique emotions, perceptions and development with methods to teach language. Since then François Thibaut and his Language Workshop for Children continues to be recognized as the pioneer of early language education. Thibaut is the author of numerous articles on the subject of children’s language acquisition. François Thibaut is also the producer of the Professor Toto Language Education Series, winner of the I-Parenting, Parents Choice, Family Choice, NAPPA, Homeschool.com and Creative Child awards.
