I like this location since it have a large parking lot. I normally come here to return the stuff I buy online. The service is always good and the associates are always friendly.

A decent sized store in the suburbs. There is a hair salon and restaurant on the 3^rd floor. 1^st floor is the clothing section for men, women and kids. 2^nd floor is also womens clothing and cosmetics. this store has a good selection of brand names and in stock items. If I buy a suit, I would prefer to shop at their flagship store in the city which has more selections and a tailor who is familiar with men’s suits.

Purchased a wallet online and received with scratches.
Ok no problem.
Went into the store to do an exchange. First I looked for the wallet myself thinking that would be easier as I have no problem helping myself.
Couldn’t find.
Asked sales associate for help and she told me I HAD to find it myself. I explained to her that I just did and when I called I was told 7 were in stock. She then told me that’s not her problem. She also asked me where was the scratch? So I walked away. As I was walking away she starting loudly saying how I shouldn’t rely on what they say to me on the phone and so on and so forth. REALLY?
Have a nice day ma’am. You clearly are miserable with where you work.
A simple hello how can I help you would have been nice instead of telling me to do YOUR job.
I searched the whole Coach section and even opened drawers below the display.
I DID look for it and clearly you were NO help to me.

I called the ladies shoe department yesterday to check if they had a boot in stock. A woman with an Indian accent picked up my call, as soon as I told her what I needed she placed the receiver on the counter and never came back. A half hour later, HALF HOUR, i purposely waited to see how long it would take, someone else picked up to see if I was being helped! I heard her transacting sales at the register the whole time and never came back to me! Thats customer service? Sorry to the girl who picked up that I yelled at but I was so upset I ended up hanging up. Later in the day I actually went to the store to see if I could exchange a boot I had purchased in New Jersey, which was a gift. Well, you tell me how an exchange for the same shoe that was a gift to me could not be exchanged, rather I was told it had to be returned and repurchased! So, long story short, my 206.00 gift was given back to the other persons card, the woman said she couldn’t honor my tax break from NJ either, so I walked out paying 224.00 dollars on my L&T including NY tax! what the hell? Oh, and I am premier, and she couldn’t take my 50.00 bonus coupon either!!! Worst store ever! After an hour as I sat thinking what just happened to me I called customer service to cancel the order cause it was wrong in so many ways, and Jolie, rude, nasty girl, told me it was already in ship mode after an hour and couldn’t cancel the sale. So basically she told me to return the boots to the store when I got them. Oh, again, thanks for making me go out of my way– and then when I asked to speak to a manager SHE HUNG UP ON ME! Never, did I experience what I did today with this store. Simply disgusting! I would never treat anyone the way I was treated today, esp being in a customer service field! Shame on you ladies, if you want to call them that. I will also be calling the manager in the store.

This review is for phone customer service.
I called today to ask if they had a shoe in stock. The first time I called, the guy was speaking so low I could barely hear him and he left me on hold for about 10 minutes. I don’t understand how it could take so long to see if you had a shoe in stock. Shouldn’t it all be computerized? Anyway, whatever, so when he comes back, I can barely understand him again and I ask him to repeat, and again he leaves the phone and I hear some other transaction being done. WTF? So I hang up and call again…
2^nd time around, a lady picks up. After about 5 minutes, she says «No we don’t have»
I explain to her my situation that I bought this shoe online and want to exchange it– right in the middle of me talking she friggin cuts me off and says OKEH BYE.
What the f&*$^?!?
Does this store do like, no customer service training? Damn man.

The employees here are the worst.
I bought a beautiful silk top to wear to an event. They wrapped in tissue paper and placed in bag and I went back to Boston.
When I went to wear the top the humongous censor was still on it!
Obviously I wasn’t able to wear it!
To add insult to injury when I went back to the store I wanted to return the top because I was so annoyed by this experience and the employee kept insinuating that i had STOLEN it!
I went upstairs to try to speak with a manager. They gave me a 20% discount or something and then I actually bought some more stuff. I got home… and get ready… the censor was still on one of my garments.
I’m done with this place forever.

The content of this store is amazing, beautiful items at average price and a wonderful amount of parking spots.
The reason this store is not rated high is because the way individuals are treated. They are very stereotypical and expect only upper class people to shop in this store. If you go to the store looking average you won’t even be eknowledged by a sales associate. Instead you’d be followed as a shoplifter suspect.
I am very well polished and I go to this store all the time because my favorite designer has a shop in this store. When ever I go in to the actual store I never get help nor do I get answers when I ask questions.
This is a good store if you know what you want and where to get it. Don’t go here looking for anything else because you’ll be denied.

Since i had the dress never worn tags still on and had a receipt. Since it was pat 90 days more like from dec 2013… I didnt get full price i paid so i lose out on $ 50 bucks But since itis somethingi know i will not wear i am taking the hit on it!

Pretty good store. Pretty similar to Bloomingdales.
I am not sure if i would shop here if there weren’t a sale going on. but hey i will take this store over century 21 any day. not to compare apples and oranges. but i just had to say that.
good store and good prices when they have a sale.

Not great for women whose shoe size is a 9. They never seem to have my size for the shoes I want. Also I was trying to return two dresses that I bought two weeks ago and the manager was being so rude to me about it saying that it doesn’t have the proper tag while it did have the tag with the bar code and I later found out that they left a defective sensor on it. I’m an honest person and the manager was just being rude about the whole situation. I will definitely be thinking twice before shopping at Lord and Taylor despite being a black card holder and go instead to Nordstroms which is much more customer friendly.

Pretty nice store. It’s clean and organized. Customer service is a little slow but it don’t surprise me. I came in here the other day to return a jacket. Lines were incredibly short but still took forever with each transaction. It must be an Long Island thing to chat and gossip about every little thing in their boring life with the cashier. There was 1 person in front of me, another already at the register and I literally waited 10 minutes for 2 people to finish their purchase. When I approached the cashier, she asked me to go downstairs! I said hell no! I didn’t wait 10 minutes to hear you say that!
Total time of my return: Less than a minute!

Convenient location, lots of parking, huge store, great selection, and sales!

2.5 stars. The dynamic and layout is similar to Macys except a slightly higher in luxury and people aren’t as friendly. Once you walk in, it feels kinda cramped and everyone’s in the way. I bumped into 3 different things to avoid another customer while walking. If you change way things are laid out in a more strategic place so it’ll be more spacious for customers to shop.
If you know what you want, going in and out would be no problem. But if you’re planning on staying there to shop, I say make sure you shop during down time so there will be less foot traffic.

I never find too much here, but have definitely picked up a few things over the years. I have found some decent sales in the shoe department, but Olympia, one of the women that works there is a rude fraud. Assert yourself and don’t buy something if you know the pricing scheme better than what they tell you.

I went to purchase shoes at the women’s shoe dept. Big mistake. The gentleman helping me would disappear into the back room for 20 min at a time. I was there for over 1.5 hrs waiting for him. I asked if someone else would help me. They asked is someone helping you? I would say yes, he wont come back out. And they would say, I’m sorry, you’ll have to wait for him. They sent people to look for him but could never find him. Terrible, never again.

The L&T in Garden City is a much larger, much cleaner store.
This location is extremely disorganized, smells like old lady pits, and the lights make me feel like I’ve been transported into an episode of the Twilight Zone. Something aside from the ambience makes me a little skeeved…
My main beef lies in the waspy customers and select unprofessional employees. Never in my life have I experienced a ruder crowd than when I go to this L&T (I used to go whenever they have a super-​sale, and every time I went someone was nasty to me).
A few times, I’ve been unable to buy the item I wanted (in store) simply because the salesperson said another person reserved the item days ago. This makes no sense to me. For this, Lord and Taylor, I lift my finger to you.
The handbag section, however, is quite nice.

All of the clothing is beyond expensive here but I have to confess that I do love their fragrance department. They carry tons of brands, have some decent promotions at times, and if the clerks are in a good mood, they’ll throw tons of samples your way.

This is not my best Lord & Taylor experience. Love the store, not crazy about the one in Manhasset.
In short, it’s a mess and it smells like stinky armpits. It is laid out weird and is hard to maneuver. Random racks all over the place. Clothes thrown all over.
That being said the staff is beyond accommodating and nice. They earned the extra star!

It’s gift buying time again. I get the L&T itch once a year, (around Mother’s Day.)
Lord & Taylor is a classy store. I love this particular location because it is clean and orderly, I always find what I want, the sales clerks are helpful and friendly, and it is smaller. Yes, small can be better.
I usually make a bee-​line for the jewelry department, but am always sucked in by the amazing shoe section. I have a weakness for flats. Brand names at great prices if you have a coupon. I simply printed out a coupon that afternoon from the L&T website. Very cool. You don’t need to sign up for the exclusive email club to get the coupons.
I love to treat my Mom on her special day, and she raised and groomed me on the greatness of SAVING at Lord & Taylor. You don’t need to rock a little dog in a purse to shop here.
Lord & Taylor has all the «name» designers such as Coach, Kate Spade, Betsey Johnson, Michael Korrs, Juicy, ect. (All the brands I am not accustomed to usually.) I got my Mom the cutest little necklace earring set without an over-​zealous sales woman hounding me. I browsed, compared, and made my selection with ease. When it came time to pay, my coupon was welcomed, accepted AND given back to me so I could shop more! YAY!
It is funny because last Mother’s Day, I picked up a gift, then got myself a watch which has become my FAVORITE watch and watch maker. Rumba. It is the coolest, cheapest, water resistant watch I ever had…(shameless plug sorry.)
I love this store. It is never crowded and is quiet. Makes me wish I could do all my shopping at the beautiful Miracle Mile!

For me, the shoe department at any major department store calls to mind Dante’s Inferno. So it’s strange for me to be penning this review for Lord & Taylor. Strange, but possible.
Coaxed into checking out footwear by my shopping companion, I noticed the sales people really busting their butts while remaining friendly & helpful. One thoughtful clerk offered to get water for a pregnant & parched shopper.
The selections & pricing made it possible for me to walk out with multiple pairs of reasonably priced merchandise. I’m always happy to spread the gospel of Savings & my new boots are definitely made for walking.
