History

Established in 2003.

Technicians from Zoom Tech Automotive have served the North Shore area for more than two decades. Our owner, Brett Gioe, started his first auto repair business in 1994, and established Zoom Tech in 2003 to provide Mandeville and the surrounding communities with an honest and reliable auto repair shop. Our goal is not just to fix cars, but to repair the reputation of the automotive service industry as a whole.

We can handle just about any repair or maintenance service at Zoom Tech, including state inspections and detailing. In most cases, we can get cars in and out the same day. For business owners, we also do some fleet work.

Business Owner

Brett has continuously worked in the auto repair industry as a technician or service writer since graduating from the Automotive Institute of Business and Technology in New Orleans. Now as a shop owner with more than 30 years of experience, he continues to stand by his work and do right by his customers. In his spare time, Brett coaches little league football in Covington, and is an active member of Grace Harbor Family Church.

An honest, competent and fairly priced mechanic! Previously, we had taken our car to the Honda dealership 4 times to fix a check engine light and stalled acceleration. Each time they told us it was fixed only to have the light return on the way home or within a few days. Finally, we gave up. My wife found Zoom Tech online because of its good reviews. However, I’m naturally suspicious of all mechanics. Fortunately, my fears were unfounded. Brett diagnosed the problem quickly, which turns out was caused by the Honda dealership in the first place, and fixed it for a lot less than the dealership would have. I’ve now gone over 1,000 miles problem free. No check engine light and good acceleration.

Being from out of town, I needed to have some repair work done on my car. I had the parts and drove over to get them installed — a water pump and belt tensioner (About $ 80 total from Autozone). It’s a simple enough job which should take me (a not too good mechanic) about 2 hours to do. The guys did a great job and had my car in an out in solid time. It was definitely time for the water pump to go. Total charge was about $ 396 for tabor, in addition to the $ 80 in parts I already spent in Autozone.

Brett the owner answered the phone very cheery on Saturday morning when I called. I inquired how long he would be open. He first asked what my issue was. I explained and over the phone he already had a good guess what might be the problem.
He told me to come in ASAP to make sure there was not a safety issue. I took it over and he said it would only take 10 minutes. I had a ride with me. Told him we would run down to the bank and stop back by after. We were gone maybe 20 minutes and he was done and handed me my keys.
He explained there was no safety issue, all looked good and what to do going forward should the warning light come on again. NO CHARGE!
Now, that is what I call service! Only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is because he did not fix my vehicle. If he ever does, I will update my review.

After 5 years of misery dealing with our local VW dealer, I finally gave up and sought service elsewhere. Since then, I have brought my vehicle to Zoom Tech twice for relatively major repairs. In both instances, Zoom Tech was more cost effective, corteous, delivered when promised and the work was done right the first time.
Bret is an outstanding proprietor to deal with. If you have issues, Bret will look at your car, diagnose the problem and give you a fair and accurate estimate.
Gone are the days when i take the car back to the dealer to address the same problem multiple times.

Finally, A honest mechanic in Mandeville.
I took my wife’s car in and they gave me an honest estimate, and a fair price. They could have added on unnecessary fees and services like the dealer tried to do, but they didn’t. They needed the car overnight, but fixed and corrected the issues properly.
I was very pleased with their work and will use them again in he future.
One note about parking. The shop has very little parking. You may have to park across the street.
