K9 Transition Dog Home-Style Boarding

We adopted our dog from Joyce and Austin Dog Rescue. Our dog was actually born in Joyce’s house. Every time we leave town we bring our pup back for Joyce to take care of. We wouldn’t leave her anywhere else. There is not a person on the planet that loves dogs more than Joyce. Joyce & Eddie take great care of our pup and all dogs. Go away and know your dog is well taken care of. Your dog will have a blast and not want to come home.

I left town for a week and needed somewhere for my dog Hudson. He has some aggression issues and needs someone who understands them to care for him. Joyce’s house is the perfect solution. He loves to visit, it is embarrassing to watch all his training go out the window as he jumps on her to say hello. I am pretty sure he was sorry to see me drive up to get him. Hudson had his own room with all the toys he could play with. Not only that but he was spoiled by Joyce fawning all over him, making sure he ate his food, he even got to sit in her office while she worked. The only negative from the visit is that Hudson thinks he should get the same treatment at home. :) Still what more could you want, your dog is in a home where they are not left alone overnight in a kennel.

I adopted my pup from Joyce and took beginning puppy classes with her as well. I continue to board my pup with Joyce whenever I leave town and I never have to worry about it. My dog gets super excited to see Joyce every time we drop her off and my dog gets the 5-​star hotel treatment — her own little room blocked off from the rest of the house.
Joyce also has several well behaved dogs of her own that I know my dog loves to play with so I don’t have to worry about her being bored during the boarding stay.
I’ll definitely be boarding my dog with Joyce every time I go out of town for an extended period of time.

We tried a boarding our dog with a couple kennels in town, but she always seemed a bit shell shocked when we picked her back up. Then we discovered Joyce at K9 Transitions. Now our dog begs us to go away so that she can stay with Joyce and Eddie. It really is a home away from home for her. We also have had Joyce work on desensitizing our relatively nervous/​high energy dog to the presence of other dogs. It’s had a noticeable difference in her behavior. We’re big fans.

Leaving your dogs with Joyce at K9 Transition is like leaving them at home with your most trusted friend in the world. Our two dogs spent 2 weeks there. They’re older and calm and tend to get frazzled with all the barking and doings in a kennel environment. Joyce has a room up front in her house where the dogs were kept separately to enjoy their peace and quiet. There’s a gate there so she can still keep an eye on them and they can see her as well. She has crates up there with comfy beds for them to lounge on and they have a private yard up front where they can hang out some. She feeds them whatever food you bring along to your exact specifications. I didn’t plan well enough for the long haul and she even went so far as to go get the food they required — even my female dog’s prescription food which she had to lobby very hard for at the pet store since the prescription had expired! Joyce and her husband are both very experienced dog people and I felt absolutely no guilt in leaving my dogs with them since I knew it was the best care possible aside from my own. Will aboslutely use them again and again!

My husband and I recently adopted a puppy and were a bit frazzled by how much she was bitting/​nipping at everything. We wanted a trainer who could train us as much as our little pup. Joyce was AWESOME! She brought us information, examples of products, role played how to train (tricks, methods for behavior modification, etc.), and answered all of our questions. She has been a wonderful resource! Not only was the training great, but she has kept herself open to our questions via email. It didn’t seem like a «pre-​packaged» training. Very one-​on-​one, general yet specific to our issues. Best of all, she gave us confidence in ourselves (which then is mirrored on our little puppy).
