Christina’s Critters Mobile Grooming & Pet Sitting

Christina was recommended by a friend and after many trips to Petco only to arrive at the pronounced time and our dogs were not ready decided to give mobile grooming a try.
Couldn’t be happier because the process is so simple that you don’t have to do anything but leave money. Christina comes to our house at a scheduled time and takes care of the rest. We come home and nothing has changed but the dogs’ appearance and they always look great. The pricing is the same we were paying anyway so it was a no-​brainer and we got to support a local small business that appreciates what’s most important to people these days and that’s free time.

Most horrible experience ever.
She was house sitting our dog. She charged us for grooming but told us that our pet was not cooperative but she kept the money and never offer to refund us for that.
Also, she failed to return our home key. When we returned home we asked her and she said she still had it. We assumed she would keep it for next time so that she does not need to make an extra home to pick up the key. We only had two keys for the house and lost the other key. When we asked her for the key 3 months later, she would not return our phone calls or answer emails. After like fifth attempt, she said, she never had the key. We forwarded her the email where she told us she had the key and she never bothered to respond to it. We had to change the lock on our house because of her.
There is nothing about her that is professional. Stay away.

Man. I really hesitate before writing negative reviews, so I’ve thought about this for several months before posting. I’m posting it because I think it’s important for people to be able to make an informed decision. I don’t want to focus too much on the negative, here, so I will just say this: If you want to feel like your pets are being cared for by someone who is happy to be being paid to groom them, or if you’re interested in a warm engagement at all, Christina is not the groomer for you. This was a bad experience for me and the three dogs she worked on. Only one of them didn’t get hurt, and Christina never even took her ear buds out to greet me or the dogs— she never took them out at all, despite my attempt to talk to her. Apparently, she could hear me over the music. Just bizarre. Maybe it was a bad day for her… If that’s the case, I suggest she just cancel the appointment instead of showing up like that and being flat out rude. OH WOW… I just saw another review with similar feedback… I’d pay attention to that.

Had a really weird experience with Christina’s Critters. I should probably add that this is my first time to ever use a groomer so maybe what I thought was weird was the norm, but I highly doubt that.
To make a long story short: After having a difficult time reaching her and getting short responses, borderline rude, she came to my apartment (on time) and met my boyfriend there with my dogs as I was at work. He told me she seemed annoyed to be there and even more annoyed that we didn’t have a hose to use outside (we live in an apartment!!!).
My dogs look better than they did before she came, but I did have to trim a few obvious long hairs missed on one of the dogs, no big deal. The issue was more the lack of clean-​up. Maybe mobile groomers don’t clean-​up after themselves normally (???) but there were wet towels on the floor, wet hair all over the floor and a weird chemical smell that was there for hours after she left.
I knew I wasn’t paying her to be personable but I found it odd that it seemed like an inconvenience for her to come groom my dogs… when that is her JOB. My dogs do look better than they did pre-​grooming, hence the 3 stars, but I will be taking my dogs to PetsMart (or anywhere else) from now on as to avoid another experience like the one I had.

Christina is terrific! We wish we had started her dog grooming service sooner. Our dog looks perfect. We were grooming and bathing him at home ourselves. He’s a Shetland Sheepdog and would never be okay at the groomer by himself. No thanks. However, it took us hours to do what Christina accomplished far better than us in an hour and a half! Her prices are more than fair, she establishes the right rapport with your dog, and gets right to work. Scheduling is online and easy. You don’t even have to call her. I’m giving Christina’s contact information out to interested neighbors.

In-​home grooming. Now THIS is the way to go. No more traumatized doggies! Christina came for an in-​home visit today to shave our Rough Collie and Great Pyranees — and this is the very furst time our Pyr actually came out the other side SMILING. Total shocker. Usually when we pick her up from onsite groomers, she’s shaking like a leaf. We’d taken a whack at our Collie’s coat recently (literally) — utter and total fail — he ended up looking mangy — we nick-​named him ChupaCollie and considered setting him loose in Cedar Park to see if he’d make the local news — but I digress. Christina got him trimmed up and evened out and looking like a freshly-​shaved collie should look for the summer. Our kids are now sporting their sear-​sucker doggie suits and couldn’t be happier.

I’m still fairly new to Texas & when the time came to find a groomer for my little buddy, I thought it would be ideal to find someone who could come to my home since my dog does not like staying at the groomer all day. Came across Christina here on Unilocal & decided to give her a try. Well, I’m glad I did. She was prompt, professional & gave Blue a great cut for a great price. And she couldn’t have been nicer.
I strongly recommend Christina & I’ll definitely be reaching out to her the next time my dog needs to be groomed.

I had been using Christina for over a year, and was always happy till recently. She did a touch up on my maltipoo, but it was horrible. It was crooked and there were area that were longer than the others. She charged me twice as much as she used to for a touch up. I was extremely disappointed, I used to recommend her but not anymore.

I wish I could remember who recommended Christina’s Critters to me, so I could properly thank them. I have a 14 year old golden retriever with arthritis, who cannot tolerate riding in the car to a groomer, much less the grooming process. She is blessed with the most fantastic coat I’ve ever seen on a golden, however, her undercoat is prone to getting very matted, if we get behind on brushing. I found the online scheduler on Christina’s site, really easy to use and she showed as scheduled to bathe and groom my golden. The visit went off perfectly, and my sweet old doggie was neither lame, nor unhappy an any way at the end of the visit. She was as relaxed as if nothing had even happened. I’m so happy to have found Christina and highly recommend her to anyone with a pet.

As a horse breeder and multiple dog owner I’m extremely picky about my animal grooming. My long-​haired Aussie is a bear to groom and Christina makes it a snap. I love that she shows up on my doorstep within two or three days of my call!
Although we usually are a simple bath, I even let her shave Kash this summer because of the miserable heat. He looked adorable and was the talk of Blues on the Green that night — even without his long luxurious hair.
We just adore Christina!

We’ve been using Christina for about a year now. Since we’ve moved to Austin, we have to travel a lot. We can always count on Christina, and our pup is always happy when we come home. She is very reliable and responsive. We all appreciate her!

Christina watches my pets whenever I go out of town, and she’s great! Her prices are reasonable, and she’s very reliable. After previous experiences with some less-​than-​awesome petsitters, it’s nice to know that my kitties are in good hands while I’m traveling.

Christina was referred to me by a friend and I’m so glad I found her. I have a havanese dog. Christina comes to our house with all her items and grooms her there. It’s so much better for my dog because she is in the comfort of our home and dosent have to wait around in a kennel with other dogs and be at the groomer all day. Instead Christina comes in, bathes her, grooms her and then that’s it. She is a skilled groomer and we are so happy we found her and love having Haley groomed this way.
