Thao Bui-Nguyen, DDS

It’s unfortunate that I have to write this review. My expectation of this dentist was very much different. First visit was a few months ago at which time I felt greatly comfortable and really liked this office. Thought everyone was really nice. Sadly, this all changed today.
Was able to make it in today and got the shock of my life after being berated by Dr. Bui. I have never been spoken to like this by ANY doctor or dental office the way I was spoken to today. I’m not sure if Dr. Bui was having a bad day, but whatever was going on, I somehow got the brunt of her anger.
She told me she didn’t think I was a good fit of a patient because I had a different understanding of the work that was going to be done. She then proceeded to tell me since it’s been a few months, I don’t remember what she said, that she wrote everything in her notes and she wouldn’t lie. I was simply just trying to understand which procedure would be done… For that I experienced something which no patient should have to, humiliation.
At no time during her tirade did I raise my voice, curse or anything of that nature. I told her I didn’t understand the hostility because I wasn’t being nasty or anything??? She escalated very quickly and all in front of my son in the next room. I’m not one to cry in public, but she made me cry to the point that I had to walk out of the office. When my son was finished he was concerned and said he couldn’t believe she raised her voice to me like that.
I’m thankful that my walk with Christ will allow me to forgive. I pray that she can get past whatever was bothering her and be a more understanding and professional dentist.

Dr. Bui has been my dentist for several years now. No complaints!

I just started going to Dr. Bui for my dental needs. Before my first appointment I was called to go over some insurance issues to make sure everything would be covered. This is the first dental office that has ever taken the time to do the leg work for the insurance, especially without having been seen yet. From Trista at the front desk, to Maria, the assistant, to Dr. Bui, everything was great. They are all very friendly and will try to make you laugh and make you comfortable. Dr. Bui found a couple of issues but instead of trying to sell the corrections right away she said it would be fine to watch them for a while and therefore not do unnecessary work. I am glad Unilocal led me to Dr. Bui’s office. I have found my dentist.

I haven’t been to a Dentist in a very long time and so I searched out an in-​network provider for my insurance and after seeing the great reviews here on Unilocal,I booked an appointment. Turns out, the group here is tremendous! So polite, comforting, and delicate! Dr. Bui-​Nguyen and her staff are wonderful!!! In the first visit they had me laughing to the point my jaw hurt from smiling soo much! I have officially found MY dentist and highly recommend them! Thank you to Dr. Bui-​Nguyen and her wonderful Staff!!! ;D

After 11 years without dental insurance, we FINALLY can go to a dentist; thank goodness we landed on this one!!!
After reading all kinds of reviews on Unilocal,I saw not only was Dr. Bui’s office very close to my home, but she got all positive ratings… and for good reason.
We finally got dental insurance and also had the money to pay the deductible on it for our family of five, so this was my son’s first time to EVER see a dentist and he is 10 years old. So you can imagine that I was scared out of my mind as a mom calling to make the appointment as I got my self ready to get a verbal lashing for parental negligence. That was SO NOT THE CASE. The receptionist was super friendly, did not make me feel stupid and was so nice and walked me through the process.
Then yesterday at the appointment, they were so gentle to my son– as he was scared out of his mind too, and taught him hygiene technique and talked him (and I) through everything. They were so nice, super friendly, everyone was amazing!!!
I highly recommend this dentist!

I’m going to start out by being completely honest by saying that I don’t know the first thing about dentistry, and I am really not at all qualified to assess a dentist.
I can say that I like this dentist because of the practice and the environment. This doctor has been practicing for decades. She has modern equipment. It’s a small one horse operation. It’s not an impersonal, corporate assembly-​line type move-​em-​in and move-​em-​out business.
The doctor is very kind as is her assistant, and while they work on you they talk about vacation plans and family. It has a calming effect. I don’t know if they do this intentionally to calm the patients’ nerves or if they’re just that folksy, but it worked for me.

Just began going to Dr. Bui; my only regret is that I didn’t come here sooner… my previous dentist’s office was a run-​of-​the-​mill HMO shop, upselling at every turn, with very little time with the actual dentist (who would only cursorily check my teeth for 30 seconds after a cleaning).
Found Dr. Bui’s reviews on here and decided to check her out based on recommendations. Agreed with the other comments; she is engaged in every step of the way (from the initial consult, cleaning, and orthodontic discussions). Her business caters to patients, not to insurance companies, and she manages her time extremely well. She focuses on general dentistry, and maintains a network of specialists for orthodontic or oral surgery. This allows her to focus on her job and provide the best value to her patients. Her staff is prompt, courteous, and efficient administrators. No problems with my insurance or any of the paperwork.
Also, there was a Calvin and Hobbes anthology in the waiting room… +1 for that! :)

Dr. Bui is the best around. Super friendly and makes you want to come back, rather than dread going to the dentist. I recommended her to all of my family and friends and they all agree.

I second Dr. Bui — she is great one on one and has a great memory, and always genuinely cares about her clients. She also is very honest about what she can and can’t do service wise.

Our family has been going to «Dr. Bui» for about seven years now and she and her staff have taken excellent care for us, meeting our every needs. Highly recommend Dr. Bui.
