I had three estimates for the painting of my downstairs and hallway in my condo. I chose this company based on the lower price I was given and the family atmosphere that I am comfortable with.
Plus: They were fast, and were always in communication with me over what I needed done originally and when they had to return for some touch ups. Like I said above, the price was much lower than the competition and their scheduling fit my work schedule.
Minus: This is where I hit some issues…
1. They were a bit sloppy with the clean up. The three times they were out to do the work, cleanup towels were left behind on the floor and general trash was left behind that I had to pick up (drink cans). These are big issues, but it’s nice to come home after work is done and see a clean living space.
2. Originally they were to make repairs to the drywall, but on both occasions for the original work and the follow up these were not made. There were two spots that were to be addressed and even after I asked them to come back and make the repairs, they did not do so.
3. There were a few spots with paint «glob marks» and it is very obvious that it was done haphazardly when applied. More importantly, on my wall there is a small utility box and the way the paint was applied will force me to do it all over. It looks as if someone went around the box with a brush and let it dry, then painted around that area. You can see the different paint color and finish from across the room and is something that is very distracting to the eye.
4. I asked them to come back and make a few of the corrections, but for the most part the issues I wanted addressed were never done so. I even put tape on the places that needed to be redone and when I returned, the tape was still there and nothing was actually done.
I would use this company again, but only because of the price. The work they did was great, but when you do some investigative work and look up close, you can see the problems. Some of the cosmetic issues are just that, cosmetic, but I know that someone who is more critical than I am would have never allowed these issues to remain.

We had an absolutely incredible experience with Home Services Unlimited. I sent an email to them on a Monday morning requesting a quote to finish a storage area in our basement, and by noon that same day Mike was at our house. By Monday evening we had a quote in hand, and it blew other quotes for the same project out of the water. We signed our contract that week, and Mike and his crew started the following Monday.
We could not be happier with the quality of the work. Within three weeks the room was completely finished– just as promised. The attention to details was beyond compare! The best part about working with HSU is the communication– we were kept in the loop about all elements of the job, and Mike took the time to explain every step to us as we progressed. What really struck us was how every worker seemed to know the schedule as well– everyone who entered our house could answer questions about the project, and they were sure to arrive on time and offer information and updates as they worked. They were incredibly respectful of our space as well– they cleaned up every day, and they took care to minimize the disruption to our house.
I could not recommend HSU and Mike any more highly. They are outstanding to work with, and the quality and communication truly set them apart. We are incredibly impressed with their work!
