The Curvy Bride

I purchased my Allure bridal gown last night at the curvy bride. I found the dress online and called several boutiques and the curvy bride was the only place who had it! I drove an hour with my sister to visit her salon it was the first dress i tried on and i just knew it was the one! I came back a few weeks later with my mom, my sister, my son and a friend to do a «full» appointment and try on several dresses just to be sure i made the right choice. The last dress i tried on was MY dress the original one i fell in love with online and a few weeks before when i came in to try it on! Michelle the owner was absolutely amazing. She was very responsive not pushy at all and really made me feel beautiful! She has so many options all the dresses were gorgeous! She was so accommodating she actually came in with her assistant Maria on a Monday when the salon isn’t even normally open just for me because it was the only day my Mom could make it in! I said yes to the dress and Maria poured us all champagne (which was peach and delicious by the way)! I am so so happy with my decision and even more excited that i got to work with such an awesome bridal salon!!! HIGHLY recommend the curvy bride!!!

I came here yesterday to find a dress and honestly was a little hesitant being a plus size girl. Yes, I’ve read the horror stories about most boutiques for plus size girls and I’ve read the positive reviews about Curvy bride having dresses for plus size but I still was hesitant knowing wedding dresses run small. Well WOW I was shocked at how good I looked in all of these dresses. Yes some were a little tight and my big hips couldn’t get into others but Paige was amazing and helped me out a hundred percent. But most of the dresses I put in I had to get pinned into. I’m normally a size 24 and the dresses I tried on we’re 24 and fit perfectly except the fit and flares because Ive got wide hips. But Paige was amazing! She was so calm and so encouraging and never once made me feel like I was plus size. I also brought a lot of people, 9, and Paige was soooo good at making sure I was ok the whole time and wasn’t being overrun by them and she was such a good sport. We did overstay our welcome by a little so I do apologize for that but in the end it was the last dress I tried on that turned out to be the perfect one and I couldn’t have picked a better place to go. Not only is my dress amazing the price took my breathe away because for the quality of the dress I thought I would be paying over 2 – 3,000 dollars and it was less than that. I couldn’t of asked for a better day and sooo happy I came to Curvy Bride!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!! I highly recommend this store!

Excellent experience shopping for my daughter’s dress. Knowledgable and friendly salesperson who did not rush us was a big plus. Also pulling dresses in our price range was good unlike that dress show we all watch on tv… Not the largest selection but large enough. Prices are extremely reasonable.

After an awful experience at another bridal shop, I was nervous for my appointment with Curvy Bride. I could tell before my appointment when they called and texted to confirm my appointment, that this was going to be a much better and more professional experience.
I had a fantastic appointment with Paige last Thursday. She was patient and extremely helpful. She also understood what I was looking for, and helped me find the perfect dress. There was never any pressure to buy, and she was upfront about the cost of dresses I picked out if they were over my budget. She is an absolute godsend! With her help, I was able to find the perfect dress!
Also, this store has so many options for women with curves. We all know how limited other shops can be when it comes to bigger sizes! I highly recommend this shop!

I started out wedding dress shopping at Kleinfelds, which the staff was great but the dresses cost more then I was comfortable spending. When I went to a more affordable and popular bridal store I was disappointed with not only the service from the staff but the quality of their dresses. My sister suggested Curvy Bride located in NJ, and I have to say, I am so happy that she did. I can’t say enough good things about this place! The store was very clean and organized, with a varied array of options, and it was intimate so you didn’t feel like just another bridal appointment. They listened to what I said and pulled three dresses and the first one I tried on was perfect. They made me feel so special and beautiful. Michelle and Paige helped me on my three visits and were just so sweet, pleasant, and encouraging, and they made great recommendations for both my veil and bolero jacket. The customer service was equal to that of Kleinfelds and the dress I chose was very similar to the one I loved, for almost half the price! Their prices are reasonable and they are very up front about the costs and what to expect, with no hidden fees. I would definitely recommend The Curvy Bride to any women looking for a beautiful wedding dress at a great price.

Michelle please I’m simply giving my opinion on how I was treated. Furthermore in that situation we as the customers were being pushy. During weddings a lot things can be very flexible. If we were persistent about seeing a particular dress it wouldn’t have hurted you to tell us the price or let me try the dress on… You have a business your job is to sell your items to customer period. You don’t know what I can or can’t afford and trust me could have afforded that dress… my particular budget was 1500 but my husband would have got me anything I wanted… However I’m glad I didn’t get anything from your boutique because I found a lovely dress way more beautiful excuse my grainy picture this was taken from my phone on my laptop

To begin this was the first REAL bridal salon I have ever been too. I have tried on dresses before for jokes and giggles. I made an appointment a month in advance to ensure that the time I wanted was available and that all my important family and friends could attend.
When I got there I was greeted by Maria, my bridal consultant who was very nice. She asked me what I had been looking for and when I told her I was unsure of what dresses would suit me she encouraged me to take a look around the salon for dresses that peaked my interest. She did ask me about a price point which I thought was great because many people don’t have a large budget. Their prices are very reasonable but please note: that they start at 1,000 and go up from there. I walked through the salon which was small but had a wonderful selection, chose quite a number of dresses that I thought would suit me and pulled them into the dressing room there. They only do 2 appointments at a time which is nice because the salon splits into two and you get your own half of the salon with your own personal mirror and seats for your group.
Maria was very informative and she was also nice enough to give her expertise and professional opinion when needed which also made it easier for me to find dresses that suited my body type. I also met the owner Michelle who told me how this business came about and I could understand how she loves her job because she gets to see happy brides walk out of her salon happy and fulfilled. Especially women who have trouble going to normal bridal salons because of their sizes. Their dress sizes range from 16W-​30W and the selection of dresses that they have are wonderful, especially curvy women.
Overall, I felt very welcomed and I walked out of the salon ten dresses later saying YES to my dream dress. When you say «yes» to your dress they come out with champagne to salute the joyous occasion with your family and friends and photograph the moment. I couldn’t have dreamed of getting my dress from a better place. Michelle and maria were wonderful to me.
So for any of you plus size brides looking for a reliable bridal salon, The curvy brides is the bridal salon for you!

Plus size ladies know how hard it is out there when you’re trying to find a wedding gown. All the models online are tiny little things and half the boutiques don’t even have dresses you can try on. I had just been to one such shop before a family member pointed me toward this one.
First impression: they list their designers online and you can view their dresses before going to the shop. Some of them even have photos of their dresses on plus size ladies. Yay! I came to my appointment with a list of dresses I wanted to try.
This shop only has room for two appointments at a time. The fitting areas are private and spacious, with seating for any friends or family who may come along.
At the appointment, Paige brought out dress after dress after dress, it was never ending. Right off the bat, it was the first time I had ever felt like a bride while trying on a wedding gown. She asked me what I liked and didn’t like about each one so she could guide me toward the right style, and she didn’t fool around with stuff I didn’t want to try. She also openly invited comments from my maid of honor, who was there with me.
I must have tried on 10 gowns. I chose one that I really loved and made a second appointment.
At my second appointment I tried on a few more gowns just for my own peace of mind before choosing for real the one I had loved from the start. I was surprised with a glass of champagne after finalizing the order, and Paige was kind enough to take a photo of my mother and I while I was still wearing the dress.
Just days earlier I had been crying because after a year of searching I’d had noting but bad or lackluster experiences. I don’t know if the staff at this store reads their reviews, but truly, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This was the best experience I ever had while dress shopping. I arrived early and I met with the owner, Michelle. She encouraged me and my entourage to look through the dresses and pick out what we liked. Paige was the stylist that helped me find my dress and she was very very helpful. The store is unlike any other… sample sizes start at 16 and go up to 32. She grabbed lots of dresses and helped me get into and out of the dresses until I found the one that I said yes to. You have your own room and own part of the salon to try everything on. Also since I was ordering my dress kind of late, she was very accommodating to make sure that I would have it in enough time. It is by appointment only, so make one. The dresses are priced lower than $ 2,500 and if you are coming from NY there is no sales tax! After the dress was picked we were surprised with a champagne toast! I would recommend this salon over and over again. PS. Great coffee spot a few doors down!

I soon as i walked in the door, i felt so comfortable. It was such a great experience and atmosphere.

Great selection of dresses that is conscious that not every bride is a size 6. The staff is amazing! My consultant Maria was kind and listened to what I wanted and was looking for! She even had fun with my
Entourage which included my Fiancé!!! Michelle the owner was what I expected, she gets it! They get it! Beautiful little shop.

So so so glad I went here, especially after a terrible shopping experience just hours prior to my appointment.
This salon excelled in a few ways, which I will list below
1) The obvious — the sizes — variety of sample sizes available, starting at 16.
2) The store is beautiful — neat, clean, it has two «show rooms» and dressing areas. We had half of the store to ourselves — no sharing mirrors, no having to reveal the dress in front of all shoppers.
3) The selection — great selection of designers. I would say they had a lot of ballgowns, more than any other shape but still stocked some sheaths and mermaids.
4) The service — Maria was great, took her time, was very patient and RECEPTIVE to requests. If we found that more beading worked, she hand-​picked more beading, etc.
Overall, the experience was fabulous, making this store a must-​visit, especially if you are «curvy.» I ended up getting my dress elsewhere but I would certainly recommend this shop.

I was very nervous to start the process of looking for my wedding gown. I had read horror stories of plus size girls not having any options to try on, and having to buy a dress based on what it looks like on the hanger. The Curvy Bride was the second store I went to, and I am so happy I did. Paige listened to me about the type of dresses I liked, and she pulled a large selection for me to try on. I had a hard time narrowing it down, because the store had so many that suited my needs. After going back and forth between my two favorites, I chose a Maggie Sottero. I absolutely loved my dress, and got so many compliments. The style I selected had a very low back, but Paige assured me we could order extra lace and get it exactly the way I wanted. I worked with the seamstress Lydia through the store, and she was able to deliver the dress I had dreamed of. It took a quite a bit of fittings, which was only an issue for me, because I live quite a distance from the store, but it was worth it. Every time I went to the store for a fitting, I left feeling like I received wonderful customer service. The owner was so nice. I wound up buying my headband and belt from the Curvy Bride as well. If you are plus size and looking for a dress, do not stress out… just go to The Curvy Bride. They will make you feel like the beautiful bride you are!

Loved everything about this shop… the selection, the service, and the privacy. Highly recommend.

What a pleasure to shop for wedding dresses that are exclusively in my size! Michelle and her staff were wonderfully helpful. Although I did not end up getting my dress there, I did send 2 friends who each found what they were looking for!!! My only recommendation would be to look at broadening the price point of your dresses.

I had such an amazing experience at the curvy bride! Paige was great and patient working with me and my crazy friends. I went to David’s bridal and another boutique in Long Island and although I was able to squeeze into a few dresses it was nothing like sliding into a dress that’s TOO BIG ;) … And of course I purchase my dress at curvy bride! Prices are extremely reasonable plus no sale tax if your coming from New York you will be excited trust me lol. It took me over an hour to get there but the trip was well worth it. Oh and Linda is a sweetheart and is willing to please.

This place is the best when it comes to finding the right gown. I had trouble and felt rushed at other salons, but when I came here I fell in love. It was the last dress I tried on and I got that bridal moment. I knew it was the one for me. The staff here is amazing to making that moment when you say yes to the dress perfect. The alterations people were wonderful too and made sure I was happy and comfortable in the dress.

What a wonderful experience I had! Being a plus size mother of the groom is not an easy thing when you are looking for a gown… and don’t want to look like your son’s grandmother. If this is you, don’t bother starting with department stores or bridal shops that have only 1 or 2 dresses that you must squeeze into and uhsee the sneers behind you in the mirror of saleswomen hemming and hawing as they try to «stuff» you into a dress.
Michelle, the owner, and Paige, at Curvy Bride are attentive and kind and truly seem to enjoy helping women see that big girls can be beautiful. They understand the frustration of a woman who has tried unsuccessfully to find a dress that not only fits, but also one that she actually likes. Lydia, the seamstress, creatively alters as needed. I’ve been able to wear my gown two times already and have it tucked away for the next formal event that calls for a gown!

I had such a great experience here and ended up getting my dress from this place. everyone in the store was so polite, kind and helpful… Obviously by the store name they have an array of dresses in plus sizes but I was more impressed by there customer service. Being a size 16 borderline 18 I had a hard time trying on dresses in other bridal salons and I’m a bit of a late planner but they were able to rush my dress for only 50 extra dollars. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend this place to anybody looking who is plus size

Paige was absolutely amazing. I must say my road to The Curvy Bride started as I was on the phone making an appointment at another salon. While i read their reviews as I spoke with them I asked them about their typical sample size. That’s where the panic set in. I didn’t want my experience to become about me feeling bad about my body because I could only hold up a wedding dress to myself and imagine what it would be like. So I did a bit more searching and came across The Curvy Bride.
The Curvy Bride Salon is about making you feel comfortable from the moment you walked through the door. We were never rushed, Paige helped to pick out very flattering options and after 5 dresses… I said YES!!! The dress is so beautiful and the prices are so amazing. I would recommend this bridal salon to any bride. What a fantastic experience. I couldn’t thank you ladies enough!!!
