The Village at Mammoth is a charming place with a lot to offer.

This place is great both during the winter and the summer. Fire pits and beautiful hotels mixed in with a ski-​lift, restaurants and unique shopping ideas. Hotel and public parking within walking distance so drive in down and spend an evening at tge Village.

I recommend staying here if you don’t mind NOISE,
want to park the car in a garage, or be close to loud Partying Jacuzzi’s with under aged kids, or LOUD Partying Bars, or close to Sushi Rei (local great restaurant), and lastly, the reason for us; to walk to the Gondola to enjoy Mammoth skiing!!!
Jan 28 – 30, was our stay at the Village. Our last day, the 31^st, we could not enjoy skiing due to the lack of sleep. YES, it was a beautiful day with fresh pow pow snow.
If you plan to stay in the village go directly to Mammothmountain and rent with them.
DO NOT use an outside, third party. We USEd «Getaway2Mammoth» with Nancy. She listed the ad as,“QUIET Top Floor Village Location 2bdrm/​2ba/​Mtn Views”.
Call Mammothmountain they will accomodate you to what you are lookig for, so you will be happy and get to ski, they have many units to do so. If unsatisfied they will adjust your bill, unlike Nancy. BTW, Nancy also refused to believe our experience and hung up on my fiancée. It has been 10 days since our visit and we have not received our deposit yet.
For the future, we will enjoy the village as a visit, but not a place to stay and get a good nights sleep.

We always visit The Village at Mammoth when we come up. I think they need more clothing stores. I would have given more stars but the parking is really bad! It could possibly be hurting the restaurants. I’m aware that everyone takes the bus in this town but parking is extremely limited. I give the restaurants 4 – 5 stars

This is the area you want to hang out at night. Mammoth doesn’t have much, but this is were most of it’s at.

We got a room with kitchen， that good we could cook our food, feel like home, celebrate our holiday together with friend. The fireplace is warmmy, that my favor too.

Very roomy, comfortable, homely rooms with beautiful, welcoming décor. Overall very beautiful place. Very friendly front desk staff. Love the surrounding village area with shopping and food.

Me encanto este centro comercial en Mammoth Lakes, aquí encontrarás todo lo necesario para tener una perfecta estadía en esta bellísima ciudad, desde cafeterías, restaurantes, un hermoso hotel y tiendas de venta de artículos para hacer deportes en la nieve. También hay juegos recreativos en el camino como un ajedrez gigante y una especie de cajones en los que pondrás a prueba tu habilidad para encestar con unos costalitos en unos pequeños orificios.
Por otra parte les recomiendo venir en temporada de nieve es un espectáculo único además de un lugar muy romántico.

Last year’s late night band was much better and everyone stayed.

At night, it’s a nicely lit shopping and dining spot that is expected from a ski resort destination. My fiancé and I arrived around 6:30 pm with no appetite yet and just wanted to walk around first. You can get Mammoth souvenirs like the signature #mammothbeanie and other winter gear. There are familiar chain spots like a Ben & Jerry’s and Starbucks.
We eventually couldn’t resist the smell of the BBQ and ended up at Smokeyard for dinner. In case you want small bites or drinks, some places offered happy hour. Since my hotel wasn’t nearby The Village, no store or restaurant really captured my attention enough to make a second visit to the Village.

Very cute! It’s nice during the day because the Gondola takes you straight from the Village to the base of the Canyon Lodge ski area. It’s incredibly convenient. I stayed at one of the lodges adjacent to the Village and I’m glad I did. At night, we walked around and checked out some of the restaurants on this strip. We did a little shopping, and grabbed some dessert. It’s pretty small, but has a warm feel.
Sometimes they have a DJ spinning, which is kind of cool. One of the tables also has a giant Jenga. How can you beat that?

Wow, this spot sure has changed in the 30+ years since I last visited– and nicely, not like that lanky cousin who never really filled out right and seems not too well thought out.
This place is magnificent, fun, nice to look at and a place I plan to return to with a mountain bike sometime soon!

Great place to for lunch in between mountain biking! All types of food and Starbucks.

Upon check-​in we actually got an upgrade from a one-​bedroom to a two-​bedroom! That’s a plus. This place is a mountain lodge-​type hotel, so keep in mind that your expectations should be for something along that category. Overall, the general upkeep of the house looks nice and has a true presence, however it could use a little face lift. Nothing major, but the shower heads don’t function out of all the facets and this could be due to hard water. The carpets also have a little musty odor, but that’s to be expected in cold, wet climates. They customer service department was awesome and quick to offer help and suggestions. The location is also unparalleled with its close proximity to lifts. It also has it’s own mini village with shops and restaurants.
The main downside and the only reason that they’re not receiving a 5 is because of the night-​time noise level. The walls are pretty thin and you can here everyone in the hallway, but even more annoyingly, you can here people in the streets. Between 1am to 3 am you can here everyone leaving the bars. There were several drunken fights that repeatedly woke us up. I feel like the village security could have done something to usher people along or maybe call the police. It sounded like somebody may have died last night. (I should add that we stayed here over the weekend. Weekday nights may be quieter.)

I’ve never been to Mammoth before, so we went around the area and bump into this place. Parking only accept VISA (that’s weird), $ 2 for 2 hours — $ 5 for 5 hours.
They have couple stores in the plaza like place. Right in the middle they usually have performance at certain time, it’s pretty interesting I must say.
I think it’s cool that they have like mini games every couple walks, I am not quite sure what it is but one of them there’s 2 board with a hole on it, so you and your opponent throw this bang looking and try to get it into the hole, it’s funny. LOL!
It was cold when I visit, well then again, I can’t survive the cold weather.
The part that I like the most is that they have this gondola that can take you to the other side where people snowboard and stuff, IT’S FREE!

Great places. Awful parking. The management has clearly not thought out parking. One pay station in the lot that used to be free. The station is not only slow (which is bad when its cold out) but there are not enough of them. I feel bad for shop owners who do a great job but who will simply lose business because of this.

The single most kitschy mall in Mammoth. Granted there are not a lot of them, but this does have some good points too.
However parking here is at an absolute premium, seriously there is barely any at all. There is one lot across the street for a buck or two during the winter and if you are at the condo’s here you can park underground. However, if you are hoping for regular parking, you will be disappointed.
None the less if you want a spot with nightlife in Mammoth, you will drag your butt here as the only «club» in town is here. They also have an assortment of independent restaurants, shops and a bunch of condo’s (both rentals and lived in I believe).
There is an Official Mammoth Mountain shop here right under the Gondola that takes you to Warming Hut II ooops we are supposed to call it some lodge name now… wutevers its still Warming Hut II to me and forever will be. This whole mall is fairly new built within the last 10 – 15 years and it definitely is appealing to the eye. Depending on the weather they have outdoor events and eating available here as well.
Most retailers are a bit more than you may find elsewhere, consequently I don’t usually come here for more than perusing. None the less it is fun to take the Gondola down from Hut II and experience some different stuff while in town. It also makes for a great post ski/​board pick up location for someone who wasn’t on the mountain that day.
I know I will be back, but mostly its just for the entertainment and due to the fact that Mammoth is a small place with limited options. Perhaps I will see you here sometime…

A great place to spend time when in Mammy!
There’s a variety of restaurants, shops to visit inside the village complex. In the center, a huge firepit is always lit and inviting to sit and relax. Many events are also held here. For all the non-​riders out there who are kind enough to accompany their friends up the mountain, this is a must-​stop.

This place was much better than I expected. I came here for a mini-​vacation with my bro and his friends. It was my first time snowboarding so I knew I was in for a treat.
The room we all stayed in was amazing. It was like a little apartment, complete with a functioning kitchen — we even used the dishwasher!
I did pretty well on the mountain. I had my fair share of tumbles, but overall I came back functioning.
The food scene is pretty weak at Mammoth Village. I would say that is the only downside. I suppose when you’re drunk on the mountain at 10,000 feet elevation taste doesn’t really matter so much!
The food at the actual mountain lodges are infinitely better!
I don’t really have another similar experience to which I can compare, so I suppose Mammoth is now my benchmark.

And most of the Village Idiots do seem to congregate at Mammoth Village :) But my son and I still had fun after dinner at Petra’s. We listened to a decent bar band play Top 40 songs… we ordered ice cream at Ben N Jerry’s…we played Ping Pong on the table tennis set-​up outside (Damn you for beating me again!)…we graciously gave up our table to a bunch of Village Idiot spawn… we sat and people watched while we finished our ice cream… I then bought milk and orange juice at the organic market for breakfast in the morning.
Glad we did not stay here, and too touristy, but it is fun to come over a few times when staying in the area.

I love the Village. In the winter, it’s a snowy wonderland with the gondola running to and from Canyon. Come summer, it’s so empty and bare that it’s almost eerie, but it’s actually nice — The fire pit is left going, so you can grab a coffee and sit around with some friends, and they even screen movies there.
There are plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants to keep you occupied, and parking is available (but it’s Mammoth; most people walk or take the trolley).
Now that the city’s bankrupt, I’m not sure what will stay and what will change, but it was great while it lasted.
