Terrible customer service. Walked up right at 8pm with my kids and they looked at us and locked the door. They would not even help us even when my 2 year old was crying. Hope the owner knows what type of people work here.

This Ben & Jerrys has to be the worst one in history in customer service. We had our friends come in 2 minutes before us with our children and we get there at 7:59 they locked the door in our face. They had the worst attitude for us to get our kid out of the door. I asked for the managers name and they wouldn’t give it to me. I asked their name and they made up a name. I will never eat at Ben and Jerrys again. I can’t believe they wouldn’t let the parents in of the child to get him out or even pay for his ice cream. I wouldn’t even give the customer service 1 star.

I love B&J’s but have gone dairy free recently. They do have some sorbets here, which aren’t the same as ice cream but gets the job done. I got the lemon sorbet with sprinkles. It was good! Will be back for more. Good customer service as well.

Surprisingly a great price for locals. They also have ice cream cakes which are delicious. Good assortment of ice cream. Nice for a summer day hanging out in the village!

I came here after Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, which is just across, closed at 8:30pm. This place was open, so there was naturally a line. It’s a tiny place, but fast service. It’s standard price compared to other Ben & Jerry’s store. My friend had the chocolate ice cream with M&M’s on top. It was really good!

8:01 on the night before Thanksgiving. Two families, four kids. Door locked and employee standing guard to make sure poor souls like us cannot barge our way in to spend our hard earned money. We begged the guy at the door and the employee behind the counter(who was still serving) but it seemed that our extra business would really put them out. With little snow in Mammoth I can imagine that every dollar counts for businesses here. As locals here in Mammoth I can promise that our business will now go to the Mammoth Fun Shop’s awesome ice cream bar. Note to the franchisee: your employees are doing you no favors.

Service was great but Way too pricy for the amount of ice cream you get. Suggest going to the local rite aid instead!

Fun friendly group working the scoops. The scoop size seems a bit small, but hey, if you want quality ice cream with out the scoops, this is your best option! If you have kiddies, buy a pint and ask for some sugar cones and feed the masses for a little less.

I came in one chilly evening craving a hot drink. I know. Why did I walk into Ben & Jerry’s then?! I guess because there aren’t that many where I’m from and so I headed in, not sure what I’d be getting. I scanned the menu: ice cream, waffle cones, toppings, ice cream float, HOTICECREAMFLOAT… wait, what?! Apparently, you can pick 2 flavors of ice cream & they can melt it into a delicious, steamy hot drink. Uhhhhh… YESPLEASE! I got double Pumpkin Cheesecake in my drink, but I’d recommend getting it with some steamed milk and/or a scoop of Vanilla with whatever flavor you’re getting. It was a tad on the sweet side, but a fun thing to get when it’s cold outside! There’s another hot drink option on the menu & I believe it’s hot chocolate + 1 scoop of ice cream. I’ll definitely try that next time! Cons: This is a teeny tiny location with no seating. It’s an «order & go» type of place so don’t expect to stand around/sit inside. Pros: Friendly & knowledgeable staff, even though I was ordering after their closing time!

Love this location and the staff that work here. They are happy to help and seem to love their jobs. This is a great treat after mountain biking. I always get Cherry Garcia, it is so good I do not see a reason to switch it up. The BF loves chocolate shakes. The serving sizes are normal for any B & J. You can bring your dog(not inside) and walk around the shopping center after you get your ice cream.

I’m sorry the employees here need to work. They sure seemed as though having customers was a big inconvenience. My husband and I stopped in for some ice cream. We were the only ones in the store at that time. I wanted a banana split but 3 scoops of ice cream seemed like a lot. I asked if there was an alternative and was told no by the first employee. The second person said they did have a single scoop dish with some bananas and sauce so I chose that but said I wanted two scoops. Well, $ 7.75, as I found out later was my charge, was way out of line for two small scoops of ice cream, half a banana, very little hot fudge and whipped cream.(ironically, a banana split which has 3 scoops of ice cream and a whole banana was $ 6.50. Figure that one out). Although the bananas were very fresh, the balance of this sweet was not worth the cost and I’ll never go back. Also, my husband had a berry smoothies which didn’t impress him. He was not given a straw or spoon. When he had to interrupt the employee who was in a big rush to finish up with us for a straw, it was not received with courtesy. Service can make the experience and this was not a good experience.

B&J’s…smaller shop with all the regular, great, ice cream junk. Love it and you will too after a long day of boarding or biking! Walk around the Village after you buy your dessert and listen to free music. Sit by the outdoor fireplace and melt your ice cream!

As much as I like Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and their ideals, I have to dock this place a star based solely on their serving sizes. I frequent quite a few B&J’s in SoCal and the serving sizes are often 50% to 100% bigger than the scoops given at this particular store. Consistency from franchise to franchise would be nice. Otherwise, the ice cream speaks for itself. Basically, it’s awesome. I still love you, B&J’s ice cream. I just don’t really care for the small portions at this Mammoth location.

there’s a mammoth lakes ben and jerry’s t-shirt that’s just brilliant. whoever did that, they should frame it, it’s surreal, little vinyl figure style ice cream cones snowboarding and skiing down mammoth mountain. someone could write a phd thesis on it. there are tables outside and it’s perfectly situated next to a bear sculpture where little families congregate and kids go to check each other out. i wonder if there were any fights in this space. it would be an exciting place for it, some kind of weird conflict that had been brewing a while in a small town, usually involving people who didn’t realize how little privacy they actually had and jealous boyfriends or girlfriends out of control. Back to the ice cream – thank god there is no «diet» version of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. thankfully despite being hippies they never got onto this«diet ice cream» trip. real men and women eat real ice cream, and it’s as calories laden as humanly possible. you go all out with ice cream. it’s like a snwoboarding jump. once you stop committing halfway through, your’e done. i’m impatient with these weaklings demanding low fat milk in their coffee. you might as well leave the coffee plain, right? ben and jerry’s ice cream is total machismo disguised behind a cute hippie façade. they’re not joking. they’re from vermont, which is full of anarchists living in log cabins plowing the land with horses and ponies. i know, because some of my friends grew up there. those guys make real ice cream for real men, and despite the long hair and peace and love signs, they can shoot the guns to hunt the rabbits and deer that will feed us after the nuclear war. I like the little paper handouts explaining the company’s various business principles. it must get really difficult keeping true to the original spirit when you go big, and the ice cream’s still good. you have to hire lots of people who are probably totally sketchy but have good hairstyles when you get to the national level. the marketing chicks all start looking vaguely like tila tequila and the guys like the douche bags in porn films. that’s why ben and jerry’s should take them to places like mammoth and vermont and make them go on survival courses and crawl through the mud. they have to get back to the true spirit – after that they’ll stop suggesting crap like low-calorie or low-fat ice cream. this is full on baby!

YOu ScrEAm. I ScReaM.we aLL ScReam 4… Ben & Jerrys! This is a great Ice cream shop. Have no clue how it stays in business in the winter! I spotted some flavors that were delish and much fresher than the packed stuff at the Vons.

Totally pleased with the selection, service, and extra love this B&J has to offer. It was our first night in Mammoth and it was time for some chocolate. Ben & Jerry’s didn’t disappoint. We had a brownie already but needed something to accompany it and B&J’s staff offered to hand pack a pint for us when we said we couldn’t decide on all the tasty offerings. Not only were they friendly, but this shop had a lot of things the local shops don’t carry. Ever seen a special spoon shaped like a shovel? For a buck? They also carry some unique-to-the-area goodies that would be nice as gifts if you’re looking for them: a B&J’s t-shirt with little skiing and snowboarding cones making their way down a mountain!
