Mammoth Taxi, llc is the first original Taxi service in Mammoth Lakes, CA. We built our business around local transportation during the busy ski season and around regional transportation for hikers during the summer. We are now the premier provider of Taxi and Shuttle services in the area with the biggest fleet in the Eastern Sierra. Scottie has been living in Mammoth Lakes for 20 years. Mammoth Taxi has been in business as Mammoth Taxi, llc for the last ten years. They were the first Taxi company in Mammoth and dedicated to serving Mammoth Yosemite airport every day all year. Mammoth Taxi also provides Taxi service to guests year round in Mammoth Lakes and serves California and Nevada for regional transportation, including Backpacker/​Hiker Shuttle services all summer. If you are flying to mammoth, dont bother planning ahead with mammoth taxi — there are plenty of other choices. Mammoth taxi is ALL ABOUT making as much money as possible. And! They didnt even honor their PAID IN FULL deal. And then! Wanted to «make a deal» for almost triple the dollar number ALREADY PAID IN FULL. You cant count on them for a ride or to honor their price. Listen to what the other bad reviews are telling you!

«IS NO STARS POSSIBLE? I will never use Mammoth Taxi again. Worst customer service ever and they let you down when it counts most. I recently booked Mammoth Taxi to transport myself and 3 friends to and from the airport. Mammoth Taxi is very careful to make you pre-​pay and to warn you that if you cancel for any reason (weather, cancelled flight, etc.), they won’t refund you. This is in part because they cost more than taxis waiting for you at the airport. Also, they don’t tell you that they will cancel your transportation if they feel like it and can make more money another way. We were there during a big storm and the airlines cancelled all the flights. However, we still needed to go to the airport to get a rental car so we could go home. Despite still needing the ride that we reserved and for which we pre-​paid, Mammoth Taxi refused to drive us unless we paid an insane extra fee since they had already decided to cancel our ride. Add this to the fact that the phone line goes directly to an employee who is out driving who can’t do or make any decisions and must then contact the owner, who will screw you over for more money if possible, and this was one of the worst services I have ever used. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!»

HORRIBLE SERVICE! They quoted me 12 minutes then they kept getting delayed. When I called the taxi driver back to ask her why she’s taking longer than she says she told me «have a nice day» and hung up on me. I called the main number again only to find out they actually cancelled my entire rude but didn’t bother to tell me. Stay away from these guys

The BEST TAXI COMPANY IN MAMMOTH! I use them everyday for anywhere I need to go. I’ll rather not ride a bus and I certainly won’t walk. Who does that? Anyways, I’ll recommend these guys to anybody locally or just coming to visit Mammoth. They’re always on time and the fare is decent for those who actually care about it. It’s either you stand around and wait on a bus for centuries or call these guys and get picked up right away. I, however, don’t have the patience nor the time for that. That is why I call these guys. Jeff, Ted, and John are AWESOME! And, the owner Simone is even more AWESOME. She’s very entertaining!

Mammoth Mountain Taxi saved us several times this trip. An axel broke on the truck so we couldn’t drive in 3 wheel drive in the snow, BUMMER. The bus was not my thing so we opted for a cab a few times. Ted is the man! Picked us up on time and got us where we needed to be more than once. I was looking for an Über but Ted was über cool and did the job like a pro. No Über needed.

Worst taxi service in Mammoth! I come here every year with my friends and it’s $ 25 for 5 people for less than a mile. Not worth it! I rather ride a scooter than ride this taxi service.

We backpacked from Tuolumne Meadows to Red’s Meadow, expecting to take the YARTS service back to Tuolumne to retrieve our car. When we discovered the YARTS wasn’t running, we called Mammoth Taxi. Scottie, our driver, was great, and the fare was reasonable. I recommend Mammoth Taxi wholeheartedly.

At the end of a Tuolumne Meadows to Red’s Meadow backpack, we discovered that YARTS isn’t running on weekdays until next week. So, at the recommendation of the Red’s people, we called Mammoth Taxi and arranged to be driven up to Tuolumne, where our cars were parked.
Our driver, Scottie, was a very congenial guy, and the fare was pretty reasonable, considering it’s an hour-​and-​a-​half drive, and his chances of getting a return fare were pretty slim. The car, a three-​row GMC, was nicely appointed and had plenty of room for four passengers plus gear. Scottie arrived on time, early, in fact, was very cordial and outgoing, and contributed a lot to making the drive pleasant. I can recommend the service without reservation.

appreciate the responses Scottie! Even though i had a bad experience, I would still use your taxi service. It wasn’t as if the driver was rude to me… just that he thought it was appropriate to bad mouth another taxi business (or many taxi businesses for that matter, but i cant remember exactly).
Anyways, I think it takes a lot of guts to respond to an angry/​disappointed customer they way you’ve done here. Thanks for that!

The most rude, outlandish, and ridiculous staff running this POS excuse for a business. I called the dispatch asking for a pickup earlier tonight and the guy actually told me that they get pissed off if I called more than once in a half hour. The gall and insipid ridiculous attitude of this place simply made me drive from A to B tonight. Never available during peak hours, so don’t plan on taking this taxi service, EVER– peak hours or not.

I sat in my room, calling for about one hour and there was no answer. It was 9 pm, so it wasn’t too late. They’re just terrible. I’m disappointed in this.

They make it as painless as possible to get from the aiport to your hotel. I was on my way to the hotel within 5 minutes of deplaning. And on our way to the hotel, the driver was very helpful in pointing out restaurant recommendations, the grocery store, and the bus stops. They have a booth right as you exit the airport or you can book online in advance.
