Specialties
We specialize in electrical service calls, upgrades and remodels. Whether at your home or business, we can troubleshoot that «tricky» problem, upgrade your old lighting, add WiFi thermostats, change out panels and safely repair aluminum wiring.
However, what really sets us apart is our professionalism, responsiveness, customer service and technical expertise. Hundreds of customers already know they can count on B.I.G. to answer our phones, show up on time, do what we say and at the price quoted. (In uniform and yes, even on powder days!)
And, in addition to the minimum licensing and bonding that all contractors must have, we carry commercial general liability, commercial automobile and workers compensation insurance policies to protect you, your assets and our employees, both during and after the work is completed.
Just as importantly, our technicians also have the individual electrical licensing, continuing education and certifications (now required by California) to legally perform work at your site.
So, whether you are experiencing an electrical emergency right now, or just looking to do some upgrades in the near future, please give us a call! and let us know when we can schedule an appointment to help you.
And of course, when it absolutely, positively needs to be done RIGHT NOW, we offer 24 Hour, same-day emergency service.
History
Established in 2008.
In 2008, Baldwin Industrial Group was founded out of a sincere desire to provide quality workmanship and expert troubleshooting services to the communities in the Eastern Sierra at a fair price.
After experiencing tremendous growth over the past several years, and the shortage of professional, skilled electricians in the local labor pool; we had our struggles in building a team of dedicated professionals who could deliver on the qualities that set us apart.
Then, at the end of 2010, Michael Polden (formerly with AJ Kirkwood) joined the B.I.G. team and has since proven to all of our customers that he has what it takes to deliver our commitment to customer care and quality of workmanship.
Meet the Business Owner
Jesse B.
Business Owner
I began growing my skills at an early age, attending Sacramento State University during summer vacations and getting my first maintenance job with the U.S. Forest Service in high school.
In 1993, I joined the U.S. Navy and trained to become a Nuclear Electronics Technician. After two years of intense schooling, I went to the fleet and learned to operate, maintain and repair nuclear reactor control equipment.
After leaving the service, I continued to build on my electrical knowledge and team leadership skills with Eastman Kodak; first as an equipment maintenance technician, then trainer, then maintenance supervisor.
As film photography died out, I moved to Mammoth in 2003 and joined the Lift Electrical Department at Mammloth Mountain, helping to build chairs 9 & 17.
I left the ski area once the dream of running my own company became a reality. I now have two sons, am President of the Mammoth Lakes Contractors Association and I enjoy backpacking, photography & helping clients.
