Mammoth Mountain RV Park

Apparently they don’t pay attention to quiet hours. We have asked nicely for both sides of our neighbors to quiet down as its midnight. Where is a patrol?!!
Showers are lukewarm.
It’s a beautiful spot though and spots are large. Affordable.

Great full hookup RV park with pool and spa. Stayed here mid May for awesome spring skiing this year. I’m not a fan of camping on asphalt, but it does keep your rig cleaner. I would definitely stay here again, love having hookups and the wi-​fi is great.

I was the only tent camper there two weeks ago. Staff was great. Showers are very hot and once I’m warm it’s easy to stay that way in sleeping bag. Plenty of electrical outlets in restrooms and pool room. Met a lot of very nice RV people. Would definitely recommend.

The location is good. We stayed for 4 nights. There were plenty of showers but only one worked! The showers are the kind you have to push for water to come out. But this one you had to keep your hand on the button and push the whole time. They were cleaned only once while we were there! The heaters worked great and the shower area was warm. On the last day the water was not hot and just warm. Considering its winter with lots of snow, it was not a good situation. The smoke alarm in the bathrooms needed batteries and made noise the entire time we were there. At check out I brought all these issues to the manager adding this was the second time we stayed at their park, but she got upset and short with me. I guess we’ll have to find another place…

Winter camping at Mammoth Mountain RV park was a blast. Plan for the cold, manage your water supply and holding, and you will have a great time. (There are no water/​sewer hookups in winter.)
The jacuzzi was a perfect temperature, nice and hot, and a great place to meet fellow campers after a day of skiing. Other facilities such as laundry and showers were clean and well maintained.
The plow driver is a rock star. He kept everything cleared during a series of storms, and plowed as close as could be to the edge of our rig. Getting out at the end of the week was a matter of a clearing a few shovel scoops of left behind snow.
We’ll be back for sure.

The place is showing its age and minimal maintenance but it is the only game in town for full RV hookup. The staff is friendly and helpful.

A little overpriced, and not all sights gets cleared free from snow. ok clean hot showers. Some inconsiderate camper dumped his/​her black water with out opening the drain.
And only one guy can operate the propane … And then on Saturday he leaves at 1pm and won’t be back. Even though the staff is friendly enough they need to be on top of maintaining, cleaning and always have propane service for the RV guests. Camping BLM from now on.

I come every year with my family and have been staying at this RV park for years. They have everything available to you, a playground for the kids (although unaccessible during the winter time since the snow), indoor jacuzzi/​pool, and showers available (no coins needed) and they have a small laundry room, one located at the front of the site and another connected to the showers in the back, where the RV’s are located.
If there’s not too much snow, we’ll pitch a tent in their tent area, but mainly we use the cabins in the very back. When I mean cabin, I mean literally a small cabin with a king bed, one bunk bed and 1 set of outlet. and obviously one light. They recently put in a tv and the wifi reaches the cabins! They also provide a small heater but can get noisy if you sleep with it on. There’s some chairs and a table provided for you and a bbq grill/​fire pit in the front.
The employees are very friendly and more than happy to help out if you have a problem. If you’re gonna be late, just call ahead and let them know you’ll be late.

We’ve been winter camping with our RV’s for a solid 10 years here. And for the most part it’s been a great experience. They say it’s the same owners. Not sure I can trust that. Something’s changed. It’s super difficult to get them in the phone answering machine most of the time. Last month they didn’t have a certified person to pump propane so we had to stop at the Chevron station which is a challenge getting into but doable. I called the MMRV office 15 times before getting a real teenager to answer the phone. She said they can’t pump propane today, when I asked if it was because they didn’t have a certified person she said no it was because something was frozen, what? Yeah, she said I don’t know what it is but it’s frozen. They have signage and on the papers when you ck in all over the place that they have propane but apparently they can’t give it to you. The spa has been way over chlorinated and when I told them the shower in the women’s shower at the pool won’t turn off she said yeah we know. It was flooded for several days, last month. It may be fixed now. This is the only game in town for winter camping, they keep several sites cleared which is good. Of course there is no water hookup in winter the the power and cable TV are always in good working order. Here’s a good opportunity for a mobile propane service. Too bad there wasn’t another choice for winter camping with your RV.

Young lady at the check in counter was friendly.
Showers were clean and not coin operated.
Not all sites are created equal but thats normal.
Great trail system nearby for riding, running etc.
Very animal friendly (free poop bags!)
Depending on how your rig is set up, you may need a longer than normal sewer hose and/​or electrical cord.
My only wish would be to cut a few trees back to allow for easier parking of big rigs. Thank goodness I had great neighbors that helped me back my 5^th wheel in. They were AWESOME!

Very accommodating staff and pleasant stay. Location is great. We showed up without a reservation and it was no problem and we were able to stay 4 days. If your up in the air about where to stay, you will not be disappointed.

AWESOME campground! Each spot is comfortably big but cozy! Laundry, bathrooms and showers even a fish cleaning station all within a minute walking distance. Staff has been wonderful and worked with us with everything we asked for including extending our stay! Can’t say many negative things about the place except some of the weird neighbors we had

First be sure to specify if you need 35 or 50 amp service. Next be aware that some spots are just a paved lot. Bugs and ants abound. All hookups are at the central center row of the sites– back ins, so your water, sewer, cable etc better have LONG hoses. Next, the wifi is non existent, when asked they said oh yeah, they are working on it, it’s limited connectivity. So if you not one of the 10 people to get connected, wifi is not available. Pool is colder than the begezus and even too cold for my 8 year old. Other reviews have mentioned the rude staff. I agree the customer service is totally lacking. Rude and unhelpful except to tell us there was s case of bubonic plague from a chipmunk bite a few weeks ago so don’t feed the animals… Keep driving… It’s not scenic, friendly, nor recommended.

So I don’t have an RV but I did stay here one night in a tent. We had just arrived in Mammoth Lakes via the ESTA bus from Bishop and dropped at the McDonald’s. We asked if anyone knew where we could get a public shower and were directed here. Apparently, if you are not a guest you can pay for a shower. We were also hoping they would have an area where we could pitch our tiny little tents in a sea of RV’s.
Hmmm​.it is only a two minute walk so we headed over. I went into the office/​store still wearing my backpack as I just didn’t want to have to pick it back up again. When I asked if they had any tent sites the young girl said that they did and then proceeded to ask if I was a JMT/​PCT hiker. Because if I was, they offered a discount (free) for one night, to through hikers because they were very hiker friendly. They even have hiker bins located inside where hikers can pick up stuff and leave stuff for others. AND the shower and pool are included.
The site we got was really horrible as it was on the corner right across from the dump station but how could I complain? Each site has a bear box, fire ring, and picnic table. The bathroom included three shower stalls with no limit on the amount of water. I read someone else’s review that said they were on a timer but I didn’t experience that. The bathroom and pool was clean. However, there were some pretty crazy antics going on in the pool by some young men, and nobody from the office (one glass door away) came out to say anything. Kind of ruined relaxing in the spa.
I just wanted to mention that the young woman who helped us out by getting the campsite was very friendly and helpful. We didn’t experience any rudeness at all.

This RV park has a lot of things going for it. It’s in a great location, has lots of sites with trees, and wonderful staff. My only thoughts of things that can be improved are: the showers have this silly 30 second timer on them so you have to keep pushing the handle in (kind of hard when you have your hands full of shampoo or soap), the pool and hot tub are WAY over chlorinated and the pool is freezing cold, the dump stations are not pumped out enough and all of them were overflowing, and the 10pm noise thing isn’t really well enforced. I would go back but they really could do a better job with some of the basic details.

This RV park has location, trees, full hook-​ups, fire pits, showers, laundry, did I say location. You can RV and car camp. It’s a great base camp. Over the years of staying at the Mammoth RV park, it has stayed the same as opposed to having facility improvements, such as making a fun game room, having a heated pool, and more frequent bathroom cleanings. The customer service also hasn’t changed. It still is inattentive, rude, and impatient. That’s why it’s a 2-​star. Mammoth has turned into a resort vacation place. The employees act like they are bothered when you walk into the office to check in and/​or have questions. They are the only full hook-​ups in town and that’s probably why. No competition to be the best in customer service. The owner or manager must not care about their employees or they are not around to supervise the employees and their attitude. Unhappy employees usually means bad management and low expectations.
Too bad because this place could be a
beloved 5-​star all around, all year place.
You check-​in and leave the office feeling like you have a foot print on your back from being kicked-​out. Excuse me for patronizing your establishment.
Get a new staff that cares about its customers! Or get them hospitality training!!! Hospitality 101; customers first, smile, customer is always right. They only have to make a positive impression for a few minutes because people check in and leave.
How hard is that?

So after one night with no sleep I don’t feel that I’m going to enjoy this place very much and I have three more nights here! The one light in the whole facility is right by our RV so it’s like I have Las Vegas inside my RV all night so I asked to be relocated and of course they didn’t have any availability which there’s plenty of open spots and you don’t reserve your number space right away so they could totally have relocated me but chose not to. So now I’m here for another few days very disappointed and yes it’s very dusty and very dirty understand it is outside but it’s dusty like I’m in the desert not the mountains!

This place is awesome! Lots of trees and sewer hook ups which are VITAL when you camp for more than 3 days. Space 216 is the best cuZ it’s actually a double space. There’s a ton of trails all around the park and town is a 5 minute bike ride. Not sure what prima donnas give this place low ratings… it’s camping. Yes you get dirty but that’s why you have a shower. We’ll be back.
Oh btw… the office staff are all completely rude. But hey… whatever.

We have read some negative posts about this place. In my opinion, I’ll clear some up. We were impressed with the facility. There we workers we saw everyday cleaning the camp sites and bathrooms. It was really kept nice. We cannot speak for the bathrooms on the dirt side of the park, but the paved side was really clean and smelled clean.
There was some some talk of the people that work behind the counter being rude or not paying attention to you and we only encountered that one time. There were two young girls working behind the counter on one of our days that we stayed and there was a line forming. The two girls were chit chatting trying to figure out where to put a camper and totally ignored everybody in the line. They should acknowledge the visitors in line.
I will stay here again no doubt. but the next time it will be with full hookups. Not having sewage at the paved campsites kind of makes you save on using your facilities too much.

Mammoth was great! Have stayed here before. Was there last Summer 2014 (September). Camped near the tent area. Like the wooded sites best. Campground is close to town and bike trail. Might do some winter camping this year during snowboard season. I found out they are open for snow camping (only place in town).
If you don’t like big crowds, stay away during busy holiday or special events. It’s going to make your camping experience in Mammoth much better.
