I so wanted to like this store because this is the only decent store Indian store in Malden. I bought a few groceries the first time and everything was great. The second time I went to the store to pick up two specific items that I needed. This time, both of the food items I picked were not in edible state. One of them was so rotten, it had worms crawling around in it. It is definitely not a good sign if two out of two items you picked are not good. I went back to the store to exchange those items for fresh ones. Guess what! the owner did not want to exchange them and he was just plain rude about it too. At this point, I was not ready to ruin my day over a few bucks, I just walked out of there. I guess the owner has enough customers that he would not care about new business. I am never stepping in this store again. If you ever decide to go to this store, please make sure you look at the expiration dates on food items.

decent place to get Indian groceries in Malden, MA. Usually they bring in fresh vegetables on Wednesday evening, so if you want to get som vegetables, it is best to go on Thursday or Friday… Another good thing here is it is not very crowded like Indian in Waltham, MA. Only issue here is they don’t have much variety of vegetables. it gets boring after a while with little selection of vegetables. However they have other usual Indian stuffs like rice, chappathi, all kinds of flours and spices… Rates are ok, not sure if is cheaper compared to Waltham. But you never gets disappointed though… Street Parking is available here, if you can’t find one go to pleasant street or Dartmouth street.

Only decent place to get Indian groceries in Malden/Medford/Everett/Revere area. Very humble and friendly owner and staff. Prices are generally good. Just need to keep an eye on other Indian stores’(Waltham/Burlington) prices to keep themselves competitive.

I am quite fond of this little store. The location is very convenient and the parking is just a few doors north of the store. The aisles are narrow and full of wonderful foods. I do not know how it compares to other India stores, but I do know that compared to a general grocery store, it is massively more affordable on the things I buy. We practically live on naan and Ashoka pre-made sauces that you merely need to reheat. It is a very affordable way to have someone else do the cooking. I buy mostly the pre-made curries, soups, brown basmati rice, naan, and spices. They also have some interesting snacks and pretty bindis. They do not have many clothes, but I did pick up a gorgeous embroidered outfit here once, and a shirt too. They offer movie rentals which are great fun to watch. The owners have always been very respectful and nice to me. I have always had a good experience here. There is a minimum grocery cost for using a credit card(not unusual for a small grocery store — I think it’s about $ 10.00?). I do not buy produce here so I don’t know what it is like, and I have never had to return anything(aside from movie rentals).
