Wow, what a spot. The food is excellent overall. I have had Phở from all around the nation and there’s is right up there with the best. The service is fantastic and the staff usually remembers you, if not even by name. Their other dishes are all really high quality and don’t have an MSG-y or too fried taste. Plus, all of their sauces are killer! I grew up in Wichita but now live in Austin, TX, and look forward to visiting this place every time I return. We need more places like this!

Very good service, friendly and personable staff. I ordered the Phở and it was amazing!!! Restaurant was busy for lunch but still quick and attentive to their patrons. Will be coming back when in town again.

Called to place an order, guy simply said«Can I put you on hold?» And then did so, without even saying hello or waiting for my response. For the next 7 minutes I could hear him moving around, talking to colleagues etc before it became clear he had left the phone off the hook and forgotten about me. I hung up, tried to call back but surprise surprise, engaged.

The Phở was great! I also ordered the chicken lo mein. It was good but the portion size was insane. Enough for at least 3 meals. I’ll be dropping back in for more Phở and to try out a few other things on the menu.

This is one of my families favorite places to go! It is similar to Emporers Grill and when this opened on on Maize Rd and 37th I was just ecstatic! Their food is amazing. So if you like Emperors, Kobes type food, this place is for you!

As weary travelers at the Holiday Inn with two young kids, this place was *perfect* for us! It is definitely a no-frills place, but there are ample options to feed all ages, and the portions and quality were both satisfactory. We ordered crab rangoon, fried dumplings, one child portion of sesame chicken, California roll, shrimp tempura roll, and a vermicelli plate. All for $ 33. All were satisfied. Sticky rice was delicious!!! Only critiques — styrofoam cups(wasteful) and nori rolls too heavy on rice.

Huge portions, fairly priced. My husband likes their phở, the chicken fried rice was a little too oily for me, but portion was huge like for three people. Its self service too.

Loved the general tso, sushi I was not a fan of, way to much rice for a roll. Would deff be back if I’m ever in the area

Ate there for the first time a few days ago. It was my first time trying phở, and my husband tried their general tso chicken. The phở tai was really good! The garnish plate that came with it had jalapeños, bean sprouts, and large sprigs of fresh basil and cilantro. The only garnishes I liked in the soup were the cilantro and bean sprouts. The broth held a lot of flavor, and the texture of the noodles was springy with a slight chew to them. Very good! The soda was Coke products, but they tasted very off. Bad soda bags or dirty nozzles on the machine? The general tso chicken was not good. The sauce had a generic sugary sweet and sour Chinese taste. No 1 Kitchen still has the best general tso chicken we’ve found in Wichita. My husband did like the fried rice that came with it, though. Best fried rice we’ve found, he thinks. We’ll go back and try other menu items.

Love this place! Egg rolls are out of this world! Everything we try is so good ! The owner used to run Toyko Steakhouse so the food is comparable.

They are under new management. Stopped by with my parents for lunch. It’s a nice restaurant, a little far West but worth the drive. The menu is a little scattered with all different types of cuisine(Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese) which leaves you confused. Since the owners are Vietnamese, I would probably lean more towards the Vietnamese dishes. I had the bun(vermicelli) bowls with Vietnamese sausage(nem nuong) and egg rolls. Pretty much on par with other Vietnamese restaurants. Crab rangoon was tasty as well. Spring rolls only had shrimp, no pork. Talked to the owner and he said they gear more towards western palettes. So they offer none of the herbs that Vietnamese are known for. All in all its a good restaurant, friendly owner and wait staff and authentic food.

I’m fine with no more sushi. Because the phở is amazing! Super fresh. Not greasy or full of MSG. Delish!

Found this place and thought I would give it a try, said they didn’t have pot stickers so I ordered dumplings. I got three greasy fried pot stickers. Generals chicken was average at best, but the price was decent. I won’t be going back.

Great food with very reasonable prices. Wife and I usually split an order an it’s plenty of food. Not fond of the tables they have with the glass tops though and they should either remove the aquarium or clean it on a regular basis.

Nippon’s a little indecisive about what it wants to be… something like Emperor’s Japanese Grill, with the ordering at the counter and the teppanyaki grill going on, but a lot more upscale with the real tableware and lovely presentations. I’ll chalk that inconsistency up to inexperience, because the food’s worth it. Their sushi menu isn’t as vast as some of the other places in town, but in this case I don’t care: I could eat nothing but their shrimp tempura roll and be perfectly happy. Crispy shrimp, tasty sauce, asparagus that’s exactly right. My family tends to go with fried rice or one of the teppanyaki entrees, and those are generous and not as greasy as Emperor’s version. Oh, one more quirk: twice now they’ve been out of chopsticks. I don’t know how you can be a sushi place and run out of chopsticks, but you might consider BYO if that’s important to you.

I was bored. Braving it through the biting wind, I found myself walking to Nippon. Wasn’t expecting much, despite the great reviews. First of all, the ambiance is severly lacking, but it’s justifiable because it’s such a new business. The food is fresh and you get quite a bang for your buck. The downside? It’s not all that experimental and is tailored more towards a typical American’s palette. With just sushi, some low-mein, and potstickers, it’s a bit limiting. Another thing, good restaurants are more willing to inform the guest, without request, as to what they specialize in, and what best suits each person’s taste. Owner was nice, but I wouldn’t say extremely knowledgeable. The quality of the food, the cleanliness of the restaurant, and the presentation of each dish is credit to the three stars which I rate it. When you go in, try the rainbow roll!

Sushi was amazing — fresh and very appetizing. The fried rice wasn’t very flavorful, but it was good none-the-less.

They had good food and nice people. Not a real sushi place though. More of a sushi /short order Japanese restaurant.

This is a Japanese/Chinese restaurant. Its hard to tell what they specialize in. I tried some sushi, so I cannot comment on the Chinese food. This is not a full restaurant. You have to order from the front counter, and you have no waiter except for when they bring the food to you. I normally dont care about how the food looks, as long as it tastes good. But the presentation on my dish was so good, I almost wanted to take a photo of it and put on here. You can order 2 egg rolls for $ 1.25. Slight disappointment with no meat, but still… $ 1.25 for an appetizer… what a bargain! I had the eggrolls, a bowl of miso soup, sushi, and water for lunch and the total was only a little over $ 11. Hard to find a better value anywhere else.

Sushi was good, steamed dumplings were fantastic! Chef’s special is good, excellent flavor. I like that it’s not greasy.
