Worst florist I have ever worked with! This company is advertising flowers and plants on their website that look nothing like the ones they deliver. I ordered a large arrangement and the arrangement delivered was filled with greenery and did not even come close to the amount of flowers that should have been in the arrangement. The ones in the arrangement were already wilting. I sent a picture and spent five days talking to their customer staff. They were very rude. Put me through 5 days of calling them and they never had any intention of working anything out with me. PLEASE spread the word about this florist. I hate to see people spend their money on this junk when there are so many other florists that really care about their customers.

This is a clearinghouse/​order gathering company.

Do yourself a favor — don’t order flowers from this place. My experience:
1) They sent the incorrect flowers.
2) They sent the cheapest, 99 cent looking roses like something you’d find out of a 711. The picture online literally looked nothing like the cheap roses that they sent.
3) The roses died after 2 days, before they even opened — clearly they were already old or not stored properly before they were sent.
3) Horrible, and I say horrible, customer service. I was promised a $ 20 refund over the phone for sending the wrong flowers, but then they only refunded me $ 10 and later denied that they ever offered a $ 20 refund.
4) When I complained that the flowers died after 2 days, they emailed me that there is «barely any water in the vase» — Lol, blaming the customer is not only unprofessional, but I’m including a picture of the very FULL vase of water from the original picture that I sent them. Their customer service is honestly a joke.
They still didn’t reimburse me what I was promised. And their flowers were terrible.
Don’t waste your money with this company.

I placed an order for my Grandfather’s 85^th birthday — he never received the flowers. I reached out multiple times and was hung-​up on, blown-​off and did not receive any timely assistance. Many weeks later they tried to follow-​up and offer me a 50% off discount on my next order. Seriously? You want me to order from you again and pay you money? I spent $ 78 and received nothing. I think you should give me my money back. I don’t normally post negative reviews, but this was extremely upsetting, time consuming and money consuming.

The worst place ever to order flowers. My husband wanted to buy me roses and have them shipped to work. He ordered two dozen pink roses, a box of bonbons, and a balloon with a teddy bear.
My husband thought he was ordering from an actual florist who would deliver fresh flowers in an arrangement to me at work. No, this is a flower warehouse that ships via UPS.
Aside from the fact that they arrived after I left work for the weekend, causing me to have to drive back to get them, I received:
* A box of half dead brown pink roses. Seriously, these things are wilted and brown all over. Half of the leaves fell off, as did the petals when I removed them from the box.
* 18 roses instead of two dozen.
* A box of bonbons that had brown stains on the box underneath the shrink wrap.
* When we opened the bonbons, they were squashed so we threw them away
* A teddy bear that came from the dollar store.
* A balloon that was supposed to be attached to a plastic stick, minus the plastic stick. I guess I was supposed to stick the balloon somewhere on top of the roses?
Please save your money and go elsewhere. I hope my husband challenges this with our Visa card and gets at least a partial refund.

I placed an order for flowers to be delivered to a friend who recently had surgery via
— as a google search showed that they delivered in her area. She’s in a small town in MD. I placed an order on their site –the flowers cost $ 63 and change. About 2 hours later, I get a sms asking me to call them due to an issue with my order. Upon calling their 800 number, I discovered that it was to a call center. I don’t remember the agent’s name who answered my call after being on hold for 15 minutes. But he told me that they were unable to find a local artist to fulfill my order for the amount they charged me for via their online ordering, but for an additional $ 20, they could. I told him that, that’s ludicrous and to please cancel my order. He apologized and said that he understood. He then said that he could give me an additional $ 20 credit if I was willing to accept a store credit. I laughed and said «No thanks. I will never use Ava again». he said he understood and again apologized. He assured me that he will credit my account so I hung up. Now, two days later — they processed payment for $ 63 and change to my credit card. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? These people are CROOKS. Avoid at all cost!!! Thank goodness for credit chargebacks. I feel bad for people who use these people and paid cash!!!
The best part of all of this was that, on Saturday morning, I got an email asking me to do a survey on my order. Each time i clicked on the link to do the survey, I got a «Technical Maintenance» error. I tried it a couple of times throughout the day since I was so amused that they sent that email even though they never fulfilled my order. Bunch of jokers.

This place is awful! I ordered a peace lily and they sent a total different plant! Don’t waste your time or money! I should of read all the reviews before I ordered!

This has been the WORST flower delivery service I’ve ever had to deal with! I ordered flowers for my mom’s birthday a week in advance, and the Friday before the delivery which is suppose to occur on Monday (TODAY), I get a message saying that my delivery WILL be delayed because of the «inclement weather». I immediately checked the weather and see that the area is suppose to receive snow, FRIDAY and maybe SATURDAY but Sunday and Monday look perfectly CLEAR. I called to inquire why my order was being delayed. I should have been given the option to cancel since they were not able to delivery ON the date I needed. Anyway the girl was VERY rude. Since I live across the country she told me «You live in LA how would you know what the weather is like?» …what? I’m not saying any weather predictions are 100% accurate but it just confuses me why my order was delayed and the weather is PREDICTED to be fine. Anyways come Monday I check the weather forecast, speak to my family and friends in the area and all confirm WEATHER IS FINE. I call back to confirm my order will be delivered… I was put on hold TWICE for 2 – 3 minutes each (while I’m at work) and finally was told «it should be delivered today, if not it will be delivered tomorrow» That is NOT the confirmation I need. Worst delivery service ever. I cannot believe I spent this much money and don’t even have the peace of mind that it’s going to be delivered today, not to mention the rude customer service and lack of information available.
FAST FORWARD, I called back WAY after the time they had promised to deliver the flowers and the girl (Kelsey, or chelsea) was extremely rude saying that they do not gaurentee their deliveries for any certain time (when previous calls they told me before 4pm) and that «things happen– like traffic», she proceeded to tell me that she will «track» the order with UPS… so they use UPS to deliver… so why did I never receive this tracking number? She sent the tracking information over to me and when I went to track it, it wasn’t even shipped yet! I called back and complained and they said «we cannot do anything because it’s already sent to UPS… on the 22^nd (which was 3 days ago)…yet somehow it’s not even IN TRANSIT??? THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE. I feel bad for the people that work here that have to deal with all these complaints, and I feel bad for all the special occasions that got ruined because of them! I’m reading the reviews of funerals where flowers were not delivered or delivered incorrectly.
PLEASE close down and shut your doors, do something else, that doesn’t involve ruining peoples special occasions all over the country! I don’t understand how a company like this can STILL be open. They’ve gotten over 1.4K complaints with the BBB (and an F rating) over the past 3 years and in their statement it says «small number of complaints». The reviews on their website are also fake, I cannot find them on google where they claim they received a 4.7 out of 5 star rating! Such a shame.

this company is a complete joke. I called about my order and they told me I would receive a full refund for the craziness they delivered to someone on their birthday, if they could pick it up (go right ahead). When I told them to go ahead and pick it up, they never went. Thus, I had to call back many times to get through to a supervisor who told me they had to contact the designer in order to see about my refund. You guys call that customer service? I am now still waiting on my refund but keep getting the run around from everyone who picks up the phone. Clearly you guys are a bunch of crooks.

I ordered an upgraded Birthday package with a special $ 5 birthday card. This is what was delivered (and not on the day I requested). $ 85 for this mess. This was reported to have been delivered at 4:45. In reality it was 7PM. The wrong order, the wrong day– in a cardboard box. How special is that? I am beyond upset.
I thought I was calling a local florist. They only spoof phone numbers to seem like local. I paid big and lost big. Liars and thieves.
This is a bogus company with even less credibility. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS TRAINWRECK OF A COMPANY.
Use a credit card and initiate a charge back. Still doesn’t address the issue, but save yourself.

I ordered a plant from Avas for my sister-​in-​law after a death in her family. I requested the plant be delivered on a Wenesday, but by Friday it had not been delivered. No one left a note on the door or called my sister-​in-​law when delivery attempts were made. I ended up speaking to a customer service representative on Friday, who added a note to leave the plant in the office due to freezing weather.
My sister-​in-​law calls me to inform me that the delivery driver left a voicemail stating that she left the plant outside due to being instructed to leave it there. My sister-​in-​law calls the driver back, insisting that he move the plant to the office. My sister-​in-​law then spoke with the office manager to let her know about the arrival.
I just received an email indicating that «the plant was deliver at 1.20pm and nobody at home, main office closed, she don’t answer the phone we leave the between the two doors.» The plant is now going to die before my sister-​in-​law returns from work.
I spoke with Avas customer service, who insisted that unless the plant is dead, there is no reason to assume I received poor customer service and deserve a refund. I now had to request that my grieving sister-​in-​law take photos of the dead plant to «prove» that we received poor customer service. When I indicated that I would not hesitate to file a dispute, the rep became irate and told me he wouldn’t help me unless I agreed not to file a dispute. This company is not customer-​friendly and will make any excuse not to refund money when they do not follow through on their services.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE GUYS. I called @ 8:00 AM because I had an order that absolutely need to be delivered by 2:00 that day. I paid over $ 150.00 for a deluxe bouquet and was assured multiple times that a 2:00 Delivery was guaranteed. That is when the nightmare began,
I received no less than 4 different calls with stupid questions about my order. They were asking questions confirming something in the order and then they would hang up then 20 minutes later they would call about something else similar. They literally called and asked me if what I wanted on the card was correct 2 different times, even though they guy on the phone and the order they emailed to me said it correct. Each Time they called I was assured my order would arrive by 2:00
At 1:45 I get a notice to call them immediately and after pushing through a phone tree that was frustrating I got through and they notified me that they could not make the delivery today at all … With no time to find another florist, and with no backup plan all they could say was sorry, I asked them if their was anything they could do and they just said no.
I asked them to refund my money and they said it would take 10 days !!! DO NOT USE THESE GUYS.

Like many, I am seduced by good looking web sites. They lead me to believe the company stands behind their product. With a Guy like Matt Nevenhaus, ex military, in charge, I would expect «boots on the ground» when a problem occurs — an all out attempt to take a problem and make it an opportunity.
Not with this company. First, their notifications are not tied to actual deliveries, so you can not trust their messages. Second, the company will LIE about delivery, inability to deliver — claiming the recipient (The CUSTOMER) was not available — in order to rationalize their poor service. You get the sense that management pressures the front line staff to protect the company — even if it means deceiving.
The company will put you on hold for a very long time. They will not escalate problems — I do not think they have given customer service — in the face of problems — real thought.
The art of delivering flowers is important to us who send flowers on special occasions, like the 95^th birthday of a grandparent. We love flowers — and we americans spend roughly 21 Billion a year on them. Much of it is online sales — something AVAS should be very good at.
They are not. They need to take a close look at their valuation drivers and realize that it is very easy to solve the problem of not delivering flowers — when they promise and announce they have. In fact — It is easier to do a job right than to explain why you didn’t or blame it on operations or computer malfunction. When a mistake is made, don’t promise a $ 10.00 upgrade or credit. Fix the problem and delight the customer!

I needed flowers for my sister while having surgery. Being out of state, I didn’t have her room information because it wasn’t available until she was finished. Between different time zones and many unknowns, I was concerned about their delivery. Ava’s came through and managed to get delivered promptly despite my limited details.
Thank you for making this easy on me and for ensuring my sister had a splash of sunshine on her stressful day.

My sister and I wanted to thank a professional in New Jersey for all the hard work she did on our mother’s behalf. As my sister lives in Colorado and I live in California we rely on Ava’s to deliver beautiful and fresh arrangements across the country.
I requested the express service for the arrangement and received a call shortly after place the order indicating that they would not be able to meet my deadline and we arranged to have it delivered the next day. I received an email from the recipient the next day sharing how beautiful the arrangement was and was thrilled that once again Ava’s came through for us.
When I called to ask if they would refund the express delivery charge I was told that was no problem and they would credit my account back immediately. Thank you Ava’s!

I attempted to place an order online and the site froze. Conveniently, after I already entered my payment info. Frustrated, I called directly to place my order and the gentleman I spoke to said the first order never processed and he would take my info again over the phone.
20 minutes later, I get a text and email to call the florist immediately because they could not accommodate my same day delivery request, so I canceled the order.
I received email confirmation my order was cancelled.
Today, I received yet another email saying my arrangement was delivered. Confused, I called again and was told there was an error and it was in fact delivered but I would not be charged.
Five minutes later, I get ANOTHER call telling me the delivery was made and they were sending the driver back out to pick up the flowers because they had already refunded me. Um, what?!? I asked to speak to a manager and Raul told me he was the manager and there was nothing he could do and hung up on me.
I am livid! Do not waste your money!!!

One star, because zero is not an option… Here is the angry email I sent the «customer service» department:
I should have read reviews before I ordered from you because I would have been prepared for the terrible outcome. After I placed my order, on the day the arrangement was supposed to delivered, I received several calls from your customer support rep who told me the local florist was out of the flowers I ordered. She asked for my «approval» to substitute some of the flowers and promised an arrangement equal to what I ordered (as if I had a choice).
If I wanted 20 flowers stuffed into a vase, I would have paid the $ 20 that the arrangement on the right is worth. But I didn’t. I paid $ 80 and was promised an arrangement of equal quality. Wrong.
I would ask for a refund, but I know you won’t give it. I’d file a complaint with the BBB but I doubt your company cares. I’ll post a terrible Unilocal review to join the others and hope nobody burns $ 80 and sends an embarrassing arrangement like the one I got.
