Established in 1987.

Timothy E. Quigley, owner and founder of TQ Diamonds, unknowingly began his career with a simple childlike fascination with rocks and minerals. He began gathering and collecting gemstones at the age of nine. His intense fascination with gemstones catapulted him towards his dream career. Tim entered the jewelry industry as a salesperson for a local jeweler in 1985. Two short years later, he opened the doors of TQ Diamonds.

Absolutely, hands down, the best and only place to purchase jewelry ever!
I was on a mission to replace my engagement ring that was unfortunately lost about 1 ½ years ago (I was devastated when it happened). But with life and school etc, we couldn’t replace it until now.
The original ring was purchased at a local jeweler in Virginia Beach, VA. (We’re stationed here in Va Beach and I’m originally a Midwesterner from northern Minnesota). My husband did a wonderful job of picking a piece that fit me very well. He, nor I, are familiar with designer jewelry and couldn’t tell you the difference between one designer over another. But he happened to buy a Tacori bc the beautiful etching detail fit my personality. (Only after did I learn that Tacori is quite the renowned designer and with that can also be expensive). I’m sure he paid way too much at the local place. But anyways… Of course when it came time to replace it I wanted the exact Tacori band but hopefully not at the price he paid. There had to be a better way! Insert Google search for my ring and BAM! There at the top was TQ diamonds. So I browsed the site and 1) liked the prices I was seeing and 2) the immaculate reviews on google and Unilocal and 3) that they’re located in Wisconsin. I’m from the Midwest and Midwesterners are known for being hard workers, dependable, and honest. Having one location for 23 years and having lots of national sales along with being one of the top authorized Tacori dealers all gave me a good feeling. So I called and spoke with Ted just to get more information.
Ted was amazing. He answered every question I had (and I had A LOT). He didn’t rush me off the phone. He had great suggestions that were genuine to my wants and needs without trying to «up-​sell» me like a car dealership. I told him I would speak with my husband and get back to him in a few days. There was no pressure to purchase immediately. I could tell in our first conversation that he was genuinely concerned about my happiness when it came to purchasing this piece.
We decided to move forward with the purchase and I’m SO glad we did. Ted walked me through every step of the way. He went leaps and bounds above my expectations with timelines and communication. He even put my worries at ease in regards to the finished product. I expressed my concern for being 2,000 miles away and not being able to lay eyes on my stone or ring before bringing it home. What if the color (yellow sapphire) wasn’t the right shade of yellow, I had said. Ted again exceeded my expectations and laid out a plan to make sure I was completely satisfied with the piece and let me know that if I wasn’t when it arrived that I could return it and they would make the necessary adjustments until it was perfect.
My ring arrived a week in advance and I was completely surprised! I didn’t know he had gotten the setting so quickly! I was so ecstatic to see my yellow sapphire set perfectly in my ring and at first questioned if the ring was real! …I thought, did he just place the stone in a fake setting for me to gauge whether the yellow sapphire was the right color ?? Nope, it was my ring! And it was absolutely perfect. He got the yellow color of the sapphire perfect! Not too light and not too dark. The cut, the glisten, the sparkle, perfect!
Ted and TQ have absolutely gained a lifetime customer over here! I will be recommending all of my family and friends to TQ for life. I never would’ve thought purchasing something as precious as a piece of jewelry from 2,000 miles away could go as smoothly without stress as it did. Thank you Ted! You’re a gem!

Lora at TQ Diamonds is just the best. I got my engagement ring here and she walked me through the whole process. I felt well informed and well taken care of the whole time. (Got a great deal too). The store recently expanded and is absolutely gorgeous. And I love the family owned feel of the place, they really know how to take care of their clients. My wife and I decided that we wanted to purchase new, matching wedding bands. We scoured Madison jewelry stores and in the process encountered a host of stores with poor stock, and employees who were uninformed and ran the gamut from bored to rude. We had just reached the point where we’d grudgingly concluded that we would probably have to plan a trip to Chicago if we were to have any hope of finding rings that we loved and could cherish for the rest of our married lives.
One day, my wife called me over to her computer. She was on the TQ Diamonds website, and had clicked on the «Romantic Stories» tab. The first story of how the owner proposed to his wife really touched her. She started browsing through wedding bands, and discovered that TQ was more than just a «Diamond» store, that they had a remarkable selection of bands in a variety of metals. She decided — that is, we decided — that before going anywhere else, we had to check out this local store.
Every aspect of the store was utterly winning. Selection and quality of stock were excellent, the prices were very fair. Most remarkable was the fact that the staff was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and that they really liked their jobs — well, I guess they’d have to, since the person with the shortest tenure had worked there for 14 years! Three employees are GIA certified — nice.
We bought his-​and-​her rings on our second visit — after our salesperson, Mike, called the U.S. Christian Bauer rep, who in turn called Germany to see if the company could create custom rings for us. Keine Probleme — «no problem,» and no «custom» charges. Mike called a few days ago to let us know that the manufacturing of the rings was complete, and that they’d been shipped and would arrive in about 10 days. He was as excited as we were.
As I look over the testimonials on Unilocal,I see that our story is not unique. There’s a chorus of praise proclaiming TQ Diamonds «Madison’s Best Jewelry Store.»
So… what more can I tell you?

TQ Diamonds exceeded our every expectation when it came to our ring purchases. We worked with Ted in particular, who spent hours on the phone with me figuring out my engagement ring and wedding band purchases, and couldn’t have been more professional and more generous. We went with a Veraggio engagement ring (that my wife absolutely fell in love with) and a wedding band from the same Veraggio line (which my wife was so excited with she couldn’t keep the smile off her face both before and after it’s been on her finger), in addition to a palladium wedding band for me, and we have been absolutely thrilled with all three of the rings, and with the service we’ve received from TQ. We know that it couldn’t have been a coincidence that my wife happened to walk into their store when she happened to be in Madison for a few hours, because everything about our transactions with TQ since then has been a tremendous blessing! We can’t recommend them (and Ted in particular) highly enough.

TQ Diamonds offer something businesses should take note of: the ability to be available and communicate to their customers.
Upon arriving at their site, I was skeptical when I received a notification if I wanted to chat with a customer service rep. Too many times, I would end up talking to a self automated «bot».
However, every single time I arrive at TQ Diamonds, the person in the chat window is a real person who answers all of your questions. No run around answer, no generic pre-​programmed answer.
One of the main draws to TQ Diamonds was I was able to find some watches that were sold out at most retailers and I wanted to give this site a try rather than go the eBay route.
Prices were reasonable and they were able to accommodate any special requests. Shipping was expected from the United States but I was quickly reimbursed a difference when I pointed out a price discrepancy.
I am sure to purchase any future GShock watches from this site.

Ted seems to be the man at TQ Diamonds. I was looking for a particular G-​Shock watch that I couldnt find anywhere in stores in my town. I googled it, and TQ Diamonds was one of the vendors that carried it.
I happened to come across a Unilocal deal for TQ Diamonds and bought it since I was going to purchase the watch anyway, might as well save a few bucks. As I proceeded through online check-​out, the Unilocal deal code wouldn’t work. I spoke to TQ and to Unilocal,and each party agreed to honor and refund the Unilocal deal, respectively.
Ted processed my order himself on a Monday, waived the 1st Class shipping and I had my watch by Wednesday afternoon = Happy Alex.
I love my new G-​Shock.

I worked with Ted at TQ Diamonds when purchasing a hand-​engraved Tacori engagement ring. They carried all the options that I could want, and offered the best prices I could find.
What I did not expect was the exceptionally high-​level of service I got from Ted. My email inquiries about the selected ring before purchase, placing my order, changing the stone size, requests for status updates, and delivery questions were all typically answered within minutes.
I was also helped to get my order in before a price change went into effect for Tacori, as noted on the TQ website.
Ted followed this order all the way through, and even called the shipping company to answer one of my inquiries after the ring had been shipped. I received the ring last Friday and I have to say it is spectacular. I hope she loves it too!
Proposing a life together is already one of the most unnerving things in life, and TQ diamonds helped make getting the hardware that much easier. I highly recommend them for anyone looking to purchase a high-​quality ring with even higher quality customer service.

I am your average male and therefore do not have a lot of experience dealing with jewelry stores. I came in to get a ring re sized that I was gifted by a relative. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, the man working even showed me a special soviet emblem that was stamped into my ring (seen with microscope). Long story short i was told that re sizing the ring risked having this stamp cut off. A week later when i came to pick it up, they informed me that they were able to re size it as well as preserve the emblem and uniqueness of the ring.

My wife and I really love TQ Diamonds. I first went to TQ in 2002 in search of an engagement ring. I Just wanted to say thanks so much to Tom Odgren for all he has done for us and making our lives so much more special through the amazing jewelry we have gotten over the years, especially my wife’s diamond engagement ring (she still gets compliments daily). Whether the jewelry has been custom made or simply traditional items, they are all pieces that will stay in the family for generations to come.
You were the only guy out of 5 stores back then that showed me any sort of respect or kindness when I was just a kid in college looking for a ring… that meant a lot to me.

Now that I no longer work here, I can write a review without being obviously biased.
T.Q. is definitely the best jewelry store in Madison. And yes, I am biased because I worked there, but I’m also honest (I just wouldn’t have written a review if I thought they sucked). They have an extensive selection of diamonds, engagement rings, wedding bands, and diamond and color fashion jewelry. While nothing here is cheap per se (very few items start around $ 150 – 200), everything is high quality and unique. I can’t even tell you how many times people remarked «I’ve never seen anything like this before!»
Plus, qualifications are everything. T.Q. has two Certified Gemologist Appraisers (there are only a few hundred in the U.S., and they must re-​certify every year), one Certified Gemologist, and one Graduate Gemologist on staff. They have a stellar Gold/​Platinumsmith who does gorgeous, meticulous work. They have a great sales staff who have years of experience in the industry. How can you beat that?
Word to the wise: They might have special promotions (advertised via their website or direct mail if you’re on the mailing list), but they never have sales. They price to sell and not mark too high just to mark down. You can rest assured that you’re getting a reasonable price for the quality of the jewelry.
