The Coney Grille

For a breakfast, it was not too bad ! I had their «Coney Grille Omelet» along with adding coney chili to the omelet, poured over the top. Hash browns on the side were fairly descent… the toast kind of sucked, but hey… it’s toast, a lot of places don’t go out of their way for good bread or make homemade bread. Prices not too bad…
Good service… never had to ask for a thing… good looking waitstaff too… never hurts, not like you are going to lose your appetite having a good looking young woman serve you…
Big place, clean… food was better than I thought it was going to be.
If I lived in the little house across the street, I would be here three times a week…

came to here couple times for breakfast, love the atmosphere and the food, though some dish are couple more bucks than the other place but they do give you big portion. Also in the mornings waitress are pretty busy but they are really friendly :)

One of my favorite coney’s to eat at. I like when you walk in and see Elementary school kids drawings or school work on the wall.
The food is very good. Tonight I had the chicken quesadilla and chicken tortilla soup. Both were good.

NO STARS this place freakin sucks the service is disgusting the worker and slash 1 manger old lady with glasses that has attitudes with everyone that’s why no one go to this please go get some cooking lessons and waitressing lesson I know in high school they never taught you respect but yea this coney is a embarrssment to be on 23 and Romeo plank horrible food bye bye

Not a great choice if you are looking for a good metro Detroit Coney Island experience. Portions are small, chili is subpar and service is bad.

Horrible service!!! The manager lady is a joke and very unprofessional. Will never go back. The servers are slow no sense of urgency to seat you or take ur order a very uncomfortable place over all.

Fast, friendly, reasonably priced and the food is good too. Typical fare for a Coney place but the staff here are great. The food is always fresh and hot. It is easy to come in, have a quick bite and be satisfied. Just what you want from a neighborhood place.

Is there some way to give a restaurant (-)5 stars because 1 star does not do this place justice. This place is a joke! The food here is on par with other coney island restaurants. But the service is pure garbage. We ordered carry out and the last 3 times the order was totally messed up. Incident 1.) There was a crispy chicken salad ordered. Just one problem… no crispy chicken on the salad. OK… accidents happen. We drove back to the restaurant and they gave us a new one. But no apology nor was any refund offered for our inconvenience. Incident 2.) Ordered a chicken finger dinner. Again just one problem… the container only had fries in it. No chicken fingers! We called the restaurant and explained this was the 2^nd problem we’ve had with ordering carry out. This time there was an apology and we were issued a credit to use that was under our name in the «managers book» the next time we came to the restaurant. But guess what… when we returned there was nothing in the managers book so we never received a credit. Incident 3.) Final incident — Ordered a chicken kabob dinner with fries instead of rice and gyro sauce instead of red sauce. Anyone want to take a guess as to what happened? To our surprise the chicken was actually there… buried in rice and drowning in red sauce. I specifically reviewed the order with the cashier when I picked the order up. I was assured everything was correct. When we called the restaurant they said that we had to come back for a refund and that they could not do a refund over the phone. I’m not sure why since the cashier never asked for our debit card. We asked to have our entire dinner refunded and the cashier said no. We asked to speak to the manager and we explained that this was the 3^rd incident and we want to be credited for the entire dinner for having to drive back out at night and the manager said no because it’s against their policy and the other meals were correct. When we asked the manager what she could do for us for the inconvenience she said I’ll give you your money back for the dinner that was wrong. Well thanks! Way to go above and beyond! She was also shocked when we also demanded that we get our tip back. Sorry Coney Grille… there are way too many other options in our area in which we do not have to put up with such arrogant and poor customer service. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TYPICAL CONEY FOOD WITH A TOUCH OF CRAPPY SERVICE!

As far as coney islands go, this one is clean and decorated better than most. The breakfast food is so so, hash browns are always dry and orders are frequently wrong. Nothing special about the lunch and dinner menu and the food is average. On the expensive side for a coney island. My kids like it here so we eat here more than I’d like to. We’ve had our kids’ breakfast sausage severely undercooked on more than one occasion.

Great place for dine in AND carry out! Great atmosphere and delicious food! We get food from here once a week and it’s always great.

I was treated poorly here by the waitstaff and they messed up my take out! When I called (after I drove 5 miles home) to let them know they forgot parts of my wife’s AND my meals, I was left on hold and pretty much forgotton about! They also have something against offering sausage patties because this is the only resteraunt I’ve been too that doesn’t offer that on the breakfast menu (a waitress even told us that she thought it was stupid and a lot of people complain about it). The food is subpar at best! It only does business because of the lack of other options and there is a better place down the road but they are always packed (because they are polite and serve good food). Don’t waste your time here!

the food here is great! The pretzel chicken sandwich is a must try! I love the fries here also! Just a fun and hip hop vide. and if you have room (which save room for) try the chocolate cake… WOW! YUMMIEEE!

Was on my way to visit my dad, and he loves either a coney, a no bean chili supreme or White Castles.
So I saw this place en-​route to Chesterfield Twp, and thought why not?
I walked in & first & foremost, this place was decorated & furnished top notch all the way & it wa super clean, it even sparkled.
So I ordered a No Bean Chili Supreme Loaded

While the gal put it together, I visited the restroom, which was also very clean & even smelled fresh

The gal had my order & the total was $ 5.25
Dad Loved it!
[ off the record, not sure if its been that long since I ordered one of these, but $ 5.25 seemed steep, compared to Leos & National ?!? ]

Worst. Coney. Ever! The chili is gross and the Fries are mush. I will go to National on 23 in Shelby for better coney’s.

Great food, fast freindly service, great for kids and adults alike. All at reasonable prices.
Nice atmosphere, a little loud, but not bad. All the staff there are on the ball.
Love the loose burgers and the soups are great!

Good clean Coney restaurant. I sometimes wonder why it isn’t as busy as National or the other local ones, but we never have a bad meal, so I’m glad to keep this a little local secret!

Still my favorite Coney. The Coney Grill Special Omelet is still my favorite Omelet (it’s all about the Bacon). If your out in Macomb Twp and hungry, this is a good choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
What’s new is a) they provide free WiFi and b) the restaurant is 100% smoke free every day.
And Monday-​Thursday are 99 cent Coney nights. Bonus!
