Paul Davis Restoration of Seattle

My insurance contacted Paul Davis Restoration and they responded immediately for a waste clean up from a dialysis machine in my home.
Jason called and set everything up. He communicated with me on a daily basis so I knew what to expect and followed thru to the end. He provided the best customer service I have encounted in a very long time.

If I could give them zero or negative stars, I would. I called them when my basement flooded and asked them to mitigate the damage, repair the basement and prevent water from returning. They assured me that they could do all of the work. They arrived and began to tear my basement apart but didn’t bother to find out why the basement was flooding. That night, it rained again and three more inches of water flowed into the basement and created even MORE work! The crew put on rubber boots and put a dehumidifier into the basement, cleaned up the wet debris and walked away… FOR TEN DAYS! In the meantime, I was unable to access my basement, my house smelled of chemicals and the noise of the machine was overwhelming until I finally went down and unplugged it. I called and called them to ask about correcting the issue (I had a gutter that needed to be reattached and figured this out during a storm) but got no response so I finally called in another company that showed up within HOURS and attached the gutter and put a tarp over the basement stairs: such a quick and simple solution! I had to call Paul Davis to come and pick up their dehumidifier so that the new company could repair the damage and Paul Davis had forgotten that the machine was at my house! I had already paid Paul Davis $ 2000 to «mitigate» the damage and, sixty days later, I was billed another $ 1400 to close out my account. Apparently, it’s all part of the mitigation and it doesn’t matter that they didn’t bother to stop the source of the water. Doesn’t it make sense to stop the source FIRST before mitigating? Who would ask for the mitigation and repair of water damage but not ask for the source to be repaired/​corrected? It makes no sense! When I spoke with the woman in accounting, she immediately moved to the defensive, «Don’t raise your voice at me! I can’t speak to you right now with your attitude!» until I finally did develop an attitude. Every time I tried to speak, she would harshly state, «Listen to me! You’re not listening!» She refused to acknowledge that their sequencing was wrong and that they should have stopped the water from coming into my basement and creating more damage than I had when I initially called them to STOP the damage! I would never recommend them. They destroyed my basement with sledge hammers and the repair was ridiculously expensive. When they removed doors that were not damaged, they lost hardware that I had to replace and they didn’t do a good job of cleaning and removing damaged areas so I had to pay extra to finish their mitigating job. They sent young workers with no supervision: the workers were eager but seemed inexperienced. They left debris in my yard and in my trash bin/​recycle as well (but I paid to have them take it away, apparently). I hoped I was done with them until they billed me for the additional $ 1400. Don’t call Paul Davis: you will be sorry. However, their receptionist is really, really nice when you call them. I have no idea why she works there. She is an absolute angel!

After my house got on fire, Paul Davis came right away to help us out. They helped us from removing everything from the house to rebuilding the house as how we wanted to. They were very patient with us explaining the process that we will have to go through. We had many meetings before they started anything in order to make sure that we were all on the same page. It took more than half a year to get our house back and Paul Davis really helped us through it. We were comfortable to talk to every single employee and they were available whenever we had a question. Being the only English speaker as an teenager from my family, I was amazed of how everyone really took time to make sure we had the right information. They are very professional and will help you with any problems you’ll have.
We had few problems through out the year but they worked very hard for us and did an excellent job of rebuilding our house how we wanted to. I am very satisfied with their service and if anything happens, I know where to call.

I got Paul Davis from a referral from an independent mold inspection company. I also tried calling a couple of mold companies that had high reviews on Unilocal,but only one of them really followed up with me (one called me back, just to tell me they’d call me back later — then never did). And the one that did follow up, I felt like they were trying to upsell me, by requiring another inspection.
In any case I worked with David T at Paul Davis and he was great. He was prompt and complete with all communication. There was never a point of confusion.
We had a small bit of mold in the garage that we needed to get removed and drywall re-​applied. The staff cleaned it up. We let it sit over the weekend. And then the drywall guy came on Monday — he was done in less than hour.
I was really pleased with the service. My hope is that I never have to call them again, but if the need arises, they’ll be at the top of my list.
