Heard great things about the pizza but was sadly disappointed. Nothing special at all The service was slow. Took about 15 minutes to get our beers. Stick to bar pizzas on the south shore, they know what they’re doing.

I’ve been coming here since I was little. The restaurant itself is very small and does not have much seating. So I wouldn’t suggest coming here on the weekends. I usually go during the week after school. The pasta and the chicken broccoli ziti is the best. They make their own pasta and salad sauces. I usually do not like the taste of lettuce but the dressing makes it so delicious! The waitress staff are always friendly and talkative. I will always be a regular customer at Montes!!!

Surprised by these reviews. The pizza is what makes Montes famous. It’s a thin crust bar pizza cooked on a pan similar to the ones that you find all over the south shore but better. Locals grow up on it. It may not be for everyone but the place is always packed so what does that tell you? I’ve introduced many people to montes including my wife. She didn’t know what to make of it at first and now she wants it every week. My kids love it also. It is not you’re typical pizza. Definitely one of a kind. Definitely delicious!

I took my wife and children there for dinner during restaurant week the kids both got chicken cutlets me and my wife got the two for $ 24 special and it’s very sad for me to say after 30 years of eating pizza from there that the chicken was processed the pasta was mush it was such a disappointment to us the only saving grace was that we ordered a pizza and 2 appetizers I read reviews of other people who ate the chicken parmigiana and said it was great I hope the owner did not skimp just because he or she was extending this deal if that’s not the case stay away from the chicken parmigiana.

Literally worst take out food I’ve ever eaten in my whole life got BBQ mixed grill and fries and couldn’t eat anything it was that bad. My fiancé ordered chix parm and immediately felt sick after. We will never eat there again

Unfortunately I had a bad experience here today. We picked up an order to go as I was rushing to get myself and the kids fed before work. The large pizza is very small — a medium at most places. But the sauce is very good. I ordered a burger and it was probably the worst burger I’ve ever had. The tomato was rotten and ruined the flavor of the burger despite taking the tomato out. The lettuce was also wilted. The burger was very thin and had very little flavor. The bun was fresh and good. We ordered a side if fries which were mediocre. Very disappointed (and still hungry) after hearing rave reviews of the restaurant.

Frugal diners for quick American cuisine. Pizza, parmigiana, fish and chips. You get what you pay for so don’t be picky. If you wanted quality Italian you would eat at Rossetti’s restaurant or North End but expect to pay for the upscale dining experience.

Monte’s has been a local go-​to spot for years! Eggplant and chicken parm are delicious. Always get a garden salad and take home a bottle of their house dressing. Drinks are only $ 3.50, service is pleasant, and pizza is always good. (If you like thin crust!)

Really liked the pizza! It’s a bar pizza but It’s not like Lynwood café in Randolph. more like a mini Italian style. Good crust, sauce and cheese. Highly recommended.

We have been customers of Montes forever. Not gourmet food but it was always consistent. Our last meal was just terrible. They have changed the chicken cordon bleu and not for the better. Chunks of chicken smothered in crumbs with a slice of cheese and deli ham half melted in top. It was really gross. I hope the chef stops the experimentation and goes back to the tried and true.

Went to Monte’s for dinner tonight and ordered chicken parm. Two bites into my meal I realize that the tomato sauce has meat in it so I can’t eat it. Turns out they cook meatballs in the sauce but take them out before serving it. This is a huge issue for me since I don’t eat red meat.
Why does Monte’s offer a tomato sauce and meat sauce if they’re both technically meat sauces? And I got to pay for food I didn’t eat — bonus!
Monte’s was a huge disappointment. We won’t be eating there ever again.

Even though I should probably give this place 4 stars, I’m giving it 5 because the pizza was so god damn great… The second best pizza I’ve ever had in my life, and I consider myself a pizza expert!
This is a no frills spot yet it definitely holds some charm to it. Besides this place is located in Lynn, can’t expect anything fancy.

Local renown pizza place and I have the Fisherman’s Platter. What? Well when you are on a low carb diet pizza is a no no. But the platter was a Yes Yes. Michelle the waitress is awesome! I’m partial due to the name :) Will have to go back on one of my cheat days for some Za…
