Yao Liu graduated from Virginia Tech with a food sciences degree in 1992 has owned and operated restaurants for over 20 years. Recently overhauling her successful Asian cuisine eatery, Eastern Gourmet, to an Americanized pubstyle watering hole for burger and craft beer lovers alike.

This is Lynchburg’s best restaurant for hamburgers and amazing fries. So many types of beers to choose from it makes it tough to pick one. The food is fantastic and the service is outstanding! A win win if you ask me.

It was not very busy Tuesday at 7:15pm and getting my cheeseburger and fries took 30 min. Don’t understand why it took so long and the waiter didn’t check on me or to let me know about my order until I asked him. The burger and fries were very good.

Best burger in Lynchburg. I had the burger that had pepper jack and jalapeños and loved it. My wife did the juicy Lucy and enjoyed that as well. Great drink selection. It can get a little crowded but that won’t stop us from going back.

I ate here about three weeks ago on a Saturday night when there was a playoff game. The restaurant was about two thirds full and it seemed like there was only one waitress for all the tables and the place plus a bartender working the bar. Obviously the beer selection was excellent and the burger was very good also. I had a breakfast burger which had bacon, cheese, and a fried egg on top. The burger was flavorful and juicy, the fries were extra crispy and delicious. My wife and I made it out for under 20 bucks with a couple beers and burgers.
Rating would be higher if the service were better — waitress ignored us most of the time we were there except to bring us our food and the check.

If you don’t want to wait to be seated at least 20 minutes, don’t visit this place on a Friday night at dinner time. this place was lit! So delicious! I had the Mac attack burger. The bun was lightly toasted and the burger was cooked perfectly! Also the French fry dipping sauce is great!

The staff is as outstanding as their beer selection. 6 draft and fridges of beer offering something for everyone.
I frequent Austin TX enough to say they are on to something here and locals need to get on board if they already are not.
Ian knows beer and Yao knows service. Wonder twin powers activated here and I really dig the results.

Good burger selection, with a nice combination of traditional and adventurous toppings. The fries are awesome, always crisp and well-​seasoned, and the sauce they serve with them is incredible. The staff knows their beer, and they always have a fresh set of craft drafts on tap, as well as a great bottled selection. Everything is very reasonably priced.

Well I trusted the Unilocalers and went on down to this place while here for work. Good size crowd in a location where not too much else seemed to be going on a Thursday night. Have to say good beer, great people, and excellent food (Sassy Jack Burger and a Pale Fire Brewing Village Green). I enjoyed speaking with a lady who must have been the owner or one of the owners, who really seemed to be enjoying getting this place going. I sat at the bar and my two servers/​bartenders were excellent. Cool laid back music while I was there (although it appears, the employees working the bar may get the choice in what’s playing at that time, so YMMV). Overall, impressive little joint with character and promise. If I’m ever back in the area, I won’t hesitate to stop in.

Go! It’s delicious! The beer selection is great, so are the burgers. Wings are cooked properly, no sogginess here. A little tight on space, so I don’t know if it’s the place for a company Christmas party, but a great place for a pair. A knowledgable and friendly staff, as are the owners who verified our satisfaction. I ll definitely be going back

Soooooo. Freaking good. The burgers are thick and juicy, the buns are toasted just right, and the sauce is made in house. Perfection. Especially the special burgers they have every month. No complaints about this place.

I loved the look and feel of this place. The service was great! The waitress was well educated on the menu. The burgers were made to perfection. Their menu options are very creative. The burger and fries came with yum yum sauce that they make in house. I thought this was very interesting but it actually was a nice fresh touch to the meal. I would definitely recommend!

So far I’ve only had the spicy Jack (jalapeño and pepper jack cheese on the burger *Amazing) and the Smoking Gun– bacon and bbq sauce (I’m pretty sure I got the names right?) And some bbq wings. All amazing. So far great food and the experience has been great for both eat-​in and take out. I plan to work my way up the menu because any choice is a good choice at this place.

Don’t listen to the hater a few reviews below. This place is awesome. The burgers are on point and the beer selection is excellent. The owner knows her beers, and she makes it a point to get beers from all over the place — even my native California! I usually get the Mac attack, can’t go wrong with Mac and cheese with bacon in a burger. Yum.
