Our favorite go to place for dinner! Better than yamagata’s and shogun, and the price is unbeatable. I usually get hibachi shrimp, and the portions are huge! I would highly recommend Tokyo if you’re craving delicious Japanese food

Definitely not the best hibachi I’ve bad but it wasn’t terrible either. We got the lobster, shrimp & steak. The shrimp was a little tough but the sauce was good. Loved that sauce, I put it all over the rice! The ginger salad dressing was very refreshing. & the plum wine really compliments the flavors of the food. Not bad

This used to be a favorite place, but it really doesn’t seem to be like the former days. They gave us each a ridiculously huge amount of fried rice and then low normal portions of the meat and veggies. There is no way anyone is going to eat that much rice. But the worst part was the huge amount of salt that was dumped on each dish. I will never eat there again for that reason alone. Each person in our family noticed it and hated the over salted taste. The ice tea was extremely watered down, too. It wasn’t a good night.

The worst food I have ever eaten in Lubbock. How’s those wired persons’ taste? The steak tastes like beef liver. The shrimp is cooked old and stif. The fried rice tastes quite so so.

I love this place. Every time I am in town I make a point to eat there. The food is a great value and there is always some to take home after. The servers and cooks are great! They even do private events!!!

I’m pretty sure marijuana is not yet legal in Texas. Even if it was, I don’t think it’s wise to wait tables stoned. Perhaps our sever should look for a job delivering pizzas. I’d like to tell you her name, but I didn’t feel like asking her to mumble at me again, so we’ll just call her Cheech. My idiot boyfriend spilled his soup within about ten minutes of sitting down. Cheech came by the table right after this happened. She didn’t even acknowledge anything had happened even though we were obviously cleaning the mess up right in front of her. To her credit, she looked very confused. When we requested plasticware, this conversation took place. Me– Do you have any plasticware? Cheech– We have plastic forks. Me– No spoons? Cheech– We have forks. After this she brought a plastic fork and disappeared for about the next 20 minutes without noticing the stacked soup bowls with soggy napkins from my slow boyfriend’s unnecessary mess or our drinks which were almost empty. Eventually she emerged from the back with 3 other guys, most likely from a little get together with her best friend, Tommy. I considered asking for a manager, but I was afraid he would just giggle at me. Surprisingly, she did bring us refills and napkins after being asked. Not surprisingly the next time we saw her, she was bringing our checks. Good thing she already knew we didn’t want dessert. Of course, ours was wrong, and she had to ask Spill Collins sitting next to me what we had just eaten. Just to top it off after we got the mostly correct check, some other guy brought it back with our card. He was adorable in a Turner and Hooch’s love child kind of way. Last note, don’t order the hibachi steak. It’s the exact same thing as the sukiyaki steak, but it’s $ 2 more. Dummies. If you’re still reading this, I am very impressed.

We were told it would be a 30 min wait. 1 hr 45 min later we left the table. So frustrating! I’ll never go back.

The lunch hibachi is inexpensive, really good and a ton of food. Best hibachi value in Lubbock. The hibachi at Ohana is a little better, but costs twice as much for a much smaller portion.

The food is always delicious, but this restaurant has the dirtiest bathrooms in Lubbock. It’s inexcusable to have facilities so disgusting.

Got the Lobster and Filet Mignon combo. Service was extremely friendly and fast. Food was awesome… I frequent LA and Vegas and would definitely come back here anytime I visit my friend! We came in with 15 minutes before they were supposed to close and they seated us with a big smile and cooked for just us 2. They didn’t bother around with the showboating which was fine by us as we were starving and craving lobster. Upgraded to get some filet mignon too. Fried rice was awesome and everything seemed top quality and fresh. Being from all over I have to give MADPROPS for Texas knowing how to cook a steak better than anyone… even at a Japanese steakhouse!!! I happen to really like food cooked at these places, so I treat myself often enough… more than most. And I’m dumbfounded that this place impressed me so much. Don’t be shy… it’s big and inviting and the décor is pretty. They have too much space for their own good but they work it. Also personal recommendation — if Melanie is working ask for her! Girl knows how to earn her paycheck… just saying!

David Pool and his friends always had the best time here! The staff was excellent. They took good care of our boys and we can’t wait to go back and eat their great food and see the waiters and cooks! Can we send the rest. a fun LARGE pic for you to display in the back room???

Weird atmosphere, but some of the best Green Soup I have had made up for it. Standard Japanese Steakhouse.

Tried this place based on other Unilocal Reviews, apparently I missed this place in its Glory days because the food was NASTY and literally made me ill.

This place is pretty good for the price. It was very affordable and the food was decent. It is just your standard hibachi grill with items to be expected. They also have other items though that you would find at a Chinese restaurant like Sesame Chicken. The portions are great as well and the service is always good. If O’Hana’s or Hayashi are full, give this place a try.

One of my favorite restaurants in Lubbock. Their food is amazing and the service is great. I recommend the Sesame Chicken and anything… scallops, steak, lobster, whatever, you will love it.

I won’t lie — I was a bit skeptical about ordering seafood in Texas(sorry Texas.) However, I was pleasantly surprised with the grub at Tokyo Seafood & Steakhouse. I ordered the the«Imperial Special» which is their seafood extravaganza — lobster, scallops, shrimp and tempura goodies. Everything was delicious! The only reason I give four stars was the ambiance. The room was huge and the tables were spread far apart in a room that resembled a rec room. The decorating was lackluster, when there was plenty of room to make it fun/funky. And, I feel the need to mention the bathrooms. Although they appeared clean, they were old and gave a «dirty» impression. This always leaves me to wonder, «if the bathrooms aren’t impeccable, what does the kitchen look like?» Maybe that’s just me… Just sayin’ Also, my coworker and I were the only ones who sipped our soup out of the bowl and used chop sticks. We got a few curious glances from the folks at our table. What’s up with that, Texas??? Although I don’t plan on coming back to Lubbock, if I did I would definitely check this place out again. I would just make sure to hold my bladder until I got home next time.

Definitely the best Japanese steakhouse in town! The service was excellent, and the food quality was great! I really enjoy watching the chefs prepare the food in front of you while doing entertaining tricks at the same time! Don’t be fooled by the others(cough Ohana or Shogun) this Japanese steakhouse is the best. Lunch prices are VERY reasonable as are dinner prices.

I think I have said at least twelve times since my visit to Tokyo last week, «Why don’t we ever go to hibachi grills?!» Tokyo has been around for ages, and it has always been excellent. I honestly don’t know why I never frequented it very often when I lived in the LBK. The service is attentive, the food is excellent, and they even added a sushi menu for those that are brave enough to try sushi in West Texas…(it’s not half bad). Try the scallops — you can thank me later.
