Stayed here for the 2012 DerbyCon conference, so two nights total. I got a deal on my room($ 139/night) by booking it through Orbitz I think it was. It was just me in the room but I got two double beds, super comfortable with two types of big pillow(two hard pillow, two soft). The entire place was spotless. Clean and nice. The parking was pretty expensive, over $ 20/night. I probably could have saved some money by parking a couple blocks away instead of in the sub-sub-basement garage, but oh well. It was convenient. The WiFi on the first and second floor was«free», while the same service in your room was pretty pricey, though I forget how much… not free. They have a couple nice looking restaurants in the hotel that I did not have time to try. The staff was SUPER kind and friendly. Not sure if that’s a Louisville thing or a Marriott thing or what. Very cool.

I honestly have to say I’m a little disappointed in this hotel. Don’t get me wrong its a great hotel but it feels cold and impersonal compared to the Brown where i normally stay. The staff is very courteous and polite(a plus) — but it just doesn’t give me a warm feeling. The architecture is modern and it feels kind of cold. They have this great Fruit Water in the lobby — fruit seeped in water with ice. Very tasty. One thing that confused me was the lead valet was this big black guy who’s name tag said«Mr Ed». Everybody else had just their name on their tags. They charge for internet which seems to make no sense in this day and age. Everything else is standard marriot. Good hotel but not amazing.

This Marriott has restored my faith in Marriott hotels. This is a newer hotel(probably 2 or 3 years old). The staff is friendly, accommodating, and every bit as gracious as staff at the Four Seasons or the Ritz(the truth). You frequently hear them say, «My pleasure» and they are so polite. I stay here frequently and they know me by name and always greet me with a smile. The beds are super comfortable. The lime/cucumber and strawberry/orange water in the lobby is a nice touch. Bill, the manager, goes out of his way to remember your name and greet you each time you check in or check out. The front desk personnel are top notch and very welcoming.
