I ended up seeing Dr Hur at random because my normal OBGYN switched to a different medical group 30 weeks into my pregnancy. I cannot say enough about how satisfied and happy I am with his care. He is straight forward and pays great attention to detail, but where I really saw him come alive was in the delivery room. You can tell immediately that he is completely in his element and passionate. The second he stepped into the room, I instantly felt at ease. I had the best experience delivering my baby because of him. I would absolutely recommend Dr Hur to anyone looking for a new OBGYN — he is fantastic!
And, btw, I saw that a previous review stated that he favors his Asian patients? I have received nothing but incredible care and I’m not Asian so theory debunked!

Hands down Dr. Hur is the best! He is straight forward and thorough. I appreciate him so much and feel so blessed to have him as a dr. If he retires I will be so sad. One word: QUALITY. You may wait to see him on your appointment but it’s like that everywhere you go. I feel like if you aren’t waiting there’s a problem. All of the good Drs have a wait like all the best restaurants. Make a move to see him if you want to be in good hands. Bullshit conversation is for Drs who aren’t confident and sure of what they are doing. He will definitely not give you any of that.

I’ve been Dr. Hur’s patient for over 5 years. He has helped me though many issues and complications. He’s very blunt but so honest and helpful. He will stop and answer all your questions and really make sure your comfortable with everything.
This month he delivered my daughter via c section. He was super helpful during my pregnancy but his surgery manor was amazing! He held my hand during epidural, talked to me through surgery waited around to see if I was okay and even visited me daily after.
He did such a great job with his cut and stitch, I heard he was the best but got to see it myself. I was only in the hospital for 2 nights which is unheard of for C-​Section. And I felt like myself in just 2 days. Overall amazing experience.
My loyalty and devotion to Dr. Hur is huge! He’s so great at what he does and I hope that he doesn’t retire anytime soon. Thank you Dr. Hur for everything.

Like what the others said, if I could give him more than 5 stars I would. He really does care for his patients. I had two complicated pregnancies and both babies were delivered by him. He knows his patients by heart. I will be sad too when he retires.

Dr. Hur has been my ob/​gyn for 13 years. He delivered my 2 kids. I have always had a great experience with him and everyone in his office. (I can’t say that about many doctors.). He has always been very kind and patient.

Dr. Hur has been my doctor since I arrived in USA 24 years ago. I have two children. He delivered and happened to be on call on both births of both of them. I would not trade him for any other doctor! He would always try his best to accommodate me and squeeze me in his already tight schedule. He is such a wonderful and caring doctor! My daughter is 21 years old and my son is 15 years old. I work in customer service industry and met an elderly customer which during our little chat, we both discovered that we have the same doctor. She was 83 years old then and claimed that Dr. Hur saved her life from ovarian cancer. I really don’t know what to do when he retires!

Great Doctor! I would give more stars as well if I could. Dr. Hur is very straight forward and will answer any of your questions thoroughly. He takes time to make sure you understand everything he is telling you. Dr. Hur has been my doctor for 4 years now. I was originally seeking a woman doctor, but the few I wanted to see was not accepting patients at the time. I actually got a recommendation from a well known perinatologist. He told me Dr. Hur was excellent and he was right :) I would highly recommend Dr. Hur if you are looking for a doctor!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Hur for approx 10 years. He is very knowledgeable, kind & professional. He delivered both of my daughters (in 2007 & 2010). He also treated me during 3 miscarriages. He was very thorough & like Charissa said, he doesn’t sugar coat anything, he’s very honest & straight-​up. I like that in a doctor.
My husband went to almost every single appointment with me during my pregnancies & miscarriages. He has the utmost respect for him as well.
It is not fair to say «run» from this doctor. Not every doctor is right for every single patient. I have 5 friends that see him as well & they all love him.

I also forgot to mention in my previous review that I noticed he is much nicer to his Asian patients. At least this has always been my impression of him. He’ll wave and joke with his Asian patients but if your any other race he’s just straight forward goes through the process and you are out the door.
I also forgot to mention that when I first started seeing him I started chatting with one of his patients in the waiting room. Since I was new I asked her about her thoughts on Dr Hur. She said he was a good doctor IF you have no issues. She was totally right on because Dr Hur was fine until I had complications during my pregnancy and another incident with my overies. I want a doctor that can handle anything so Dr Hur didn’t work out for me.
I recently switched to Dr Levine and her office is just half a mile from Dr Hur! She is wonderful and have complete confidence she can handle anything.
Be on the safe side and do not use Dr Hur.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hur’s for two very high risk pregnancies. Dr. Hur was always patient to answer all our questions and never rushed me through my appointments. He was always very responsive to me during emergency visits. Dr. Hur is knowledgeable and detailed in his practice. Dr. Hur also shows tremendous compassion and care towards his patients. I have full trust in this man and because of him I was able to deliver two very healthy babies. He even performed my Hysterectomy and explained every step of the process. He came to the hospital to see me all 5 days I was admitted for recovery. I will never hesitate to recommend others to him. He is the best doctor I have ever had and 5 stars are not enough.

If I could give more stars I would! I have been a patient of Dr. Hur for over 8 years off and on because of moving out of the area a few times. Anytime we lived in the area, I always returned to him.
He monitors me closely, and I have complete trust in him. It is a bit of a drive, but well worth it. He answers any and all questions I have and will review with me as much as I need until I understand what we are doing and what we will/​may do in the future.
I highly recommend him.

Dr. Jim Rong Hur is one of the most egotistical and verbally abusive doctors I have ever encountered.
My primary was not available when I gave birth to my daughter. Dr. Hur was on duty, and was verbally abusive to me when my husband was out of the room because HE didn’t know my medical history, despite the fact that:
1) He had seen me at his practice when my primary wasn’t available
2) I brought my medical records WITH ME to the hospital
As if it wasn’t enough to berate a woman going through labor, he came back the next morning to complain more!
Because of his horrible doctoring skills, I have memories of a traumatic birth instead of a beautiful event including my daughter. This required therapy and my therapist recommended I report him to the medical board.
The ONLY reason that I’m not filing a complaint against him is that my primary doctor works for him.
RUN, don’t walk, away from this sad little man and his excuse for medical skills in our community.
