Barry D Brummer, MD

Being one of the younger patients, I feel as though the commentary I receive from the doctors can be a bit judgmental and weird. Brummer is great, but I just remember him a few years ago telling me to wait for «Mr. Right» and it was so uncomfortable… What 16 year old wants to hear that on their first gyno visit?
I’ve had a couple other weird scenarios like that, but this place does get the job done. The nurses are fabulous and make you feel super comfortable — the doctors can be a little weird, but they do know their stuff!

Dr. Brummer delivered my 10 lb, 14 oz son via c-​section 25 yrs ago. There was no ‘Yelp’ back then. So I thought I’d let you know now; he’s the best ob/​gyn you can hope to find.
I went into labor while Dr. B was on vacation. When the baby showed signs of distress; HE CAME IN DURING HIS VACATION to deliver my son. I haven’t found that level of dedication anywhere else. So glad I didn’t go to Los Olivos… :/​THANK YOU DR. B… and God Bless.

Everything you want from this kind of doctor: friendly, professional, thourough, and FAST.
The staff are friendly and professional also. I was stuck in traffic, running ten minutes behind, and they still made it work.
I’m extremely particular about doctors and medical offices and have zero negative feedback.

Just wanted to update about Dr. Brummer, again,
During my last visit he order me to have a mammogram, during that time he asked me if I wanted to get my mammogram at the same place I use to get it before. I told him that, that was one of the reason I wanted to change Dr. because these people doesn’t seems to know what they were doing in the first place. They don’t seems know how to charge my insurance for the service they serve me so I end up paying the whole thing out of my pocket, anyway this time Dr. Brummer send me to the Los Gatos mammography specialist, which turned out to be one of the best mammography in town as well. They found out that there was some spot on my breast and since they didn’t have any record of my mammogram, Dr. Brummer immediately requested a second exam, and had me take an ultrasounds with it to make sure that there wasn’t going to be anymore mysteries, at the mean time the Dr. at the mammography specialist explained what did they found on my breast, thank got it wasn’t a cancer.
This whole experiences was so much better because I finally have the best Dr., without Dr. Brummer, I don’t think I would ever know exactly what was on my breast and what to do with it.
Again thank you Dr. Brummer and staff and the mammography specialist, you are the best, I hope more people like me would found Dr. like you

I’m actually looking forward to my next appointment. Crazy, right?
It was my first time meeting up Dr. Brummer and yet, I felt more comfortable than all my other gyno visits combined. He is very personable with a great sense of humor. We had a thorough consultation before my exam, he described everything before proceeding, and had a very gentle touch. After the exam, he went into detail my condition and the suggested treatments, during which I had the opportunity to bring up any questions or concerns.
I’m glad that I didn’t have to go through so many gynecologists before finding Dr. Brummer, because he is here to stay!

I’ve been seeing Dr Brummer for over 27 years. He’s been there for me for all 3 of my children. He is always kind, gentle and caring. He never makes you feel that he’s rushing you. When I had been diagnosed with breast cancer 6 years ago, he personally called me to ask how I was and if there was any thing he could do for me. It would be hard to find a doctor like that anywhere.

I just saw Dr. Brummer for the first time… and he is fantastic! Best GYNO I’ve had in 15 years.
He gave a consultation in his office before the exam and it didn’t ‘t feel rushed at all. He answered all my questions respectively and thoroughly. Don’t let the fact that he is a man put you off of him, he knows how to treat people and put you at ease. As soon as you meet him, you’ll understand.
He has a calming voice, great bedside manner and a gentle touch. He let me know what he was doing every step of the exam (even though you already know what’s coming up, it’s nice knowing when exactly it’s going to happen). All the people in the office and the nurses were nice as well.
I believe he is still only in the office two days a week??(call and check of course, but I believe those days are now Tuesday and Thursday).
Getting a pap is never a picnic, but this appointment was the most relaxed one yet.

Last time I saw him I did not need to get a physical.
But it was that time of year again! And I’m glad to say he still gets 5 stars! I’ve had a woman doctor before but surprisingly to me he was WAY gentler then she was! Also no icy hands! HAHahaha!!!
Him and his staff are very nice and gentle. It was pretty quick but he makes small talk to keep your mind off of what is going on. A woman nurse also stands in the room in case you get uncomfortable but honestly he’s such a nice guy you don’t really.

I just moved to the area and was terrified to look for a new gynecologist. Thank goodness I did my research. Dr. Brummer is the best!!! He makes you feel like family. He listens and shows that he really cares, even if it’s your first visit. He smiles and makes you feel super comfortable. Don’t be late though because they are pretty strict after 15 minutes. I would totally recommend him though!!!

I recently saw Dr. Brummer for the first time and must say he is fantastic. He takes his time getting to know his patients history, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his patients. After my pap, he personally called me to let me know my test results. I would reccomend him to anyone looking for a new gyn doctor!

After several nightmarish experiences with two doctors from Los Olivos Medical Group, I was so grateful to find Dr. Brummer. I left Los Olivos because the doctors I had seen misdiagnosed me, dropped the ball on my treatment, made me take unnecessary tests that delayed further treatment, made me feel like an idiot for asking questions, and had an unprofessional and apathetic nursing staff.
When I finally saw Dr. Brummer, he diagnosed and treated me quickly and correctly for what turned out to be nothing serious. He is extremely professional, but he’s also incredibly personable. I love that he listens to your concerns and allows you to make decisions without pushing a million tests and vaccinations (unless of course you really need them). I feel this is not something you find with doctors less experienced than Dr. Brummer.
Dr. Bummer is totally down-​to-​earth and makes you feel really comfortable. He also has a good sense of humor so you may even have a few laughs during your visit.
He always has awesome nurses who are caring and professional and are very good at returning calls. I can’t tell you what a difference friendly and helpful nurses make. If you have ever gone to a doctor with a staff of nasty women, you will know what I’m talking about.
I have been going to Dr. Brummer for about two years now and only wish I had found him sooner. Lately, he is only in about two days a week so call ahead to find out when (Mon and Fri I think).
I have recommended Dr. Brummer to those that I know and they feel the same way I do. I think it’s kind of funny to leave his office feeling so positive about my visit (as a previous Unilocaler mentioned below). I can honestly say I feel so lucky to have Dr. Brummer as my doctor.
If you want a professional, knowledgeable, caring, friendly, and down-​to-​earth doctor, go see him. I know it was the best decision I have ever made.

Dr. Brummer is one of the best doctors i’ve ever had! I’ve been seeing him for 17 years. He delivered both my boys by emergency — section. Dr. Brummer is personable, calm and professional. A few years ago, we were awaiting some test results and Dr. Brummer called me at work to assure me things were going to be ok. That phone call meant the world to me.

He was recommended to me by a co-​worker over 20 yrs ago and he has been my doctor since. He delivered our beautiful 2^nd child who is now a frosh in college. He is kind, caring, thorough, and explains everything before he does it. I was nervous in the beginning with him being a male and all, but you cannot ask for a better physician. I have since recommended him to all my sister in laws and they are all happy with his care.

I have been going to Dr. Brummer for the past 5 years or so except for a year when I was out of the area. I have seen him for regular check-​ups and other conditions, and I can’t say enough good things about how he treats his patients. He is very kind, courteous, well-​mannered yet friendly and funny. He explains everything *before* he does any procedure on you, and that is very important to a wuss like myself. His caring personality and positive attitude make you feel relaxed in the office where we all tend to be nervous.
I have seen many other ob/​gyn doctors who just don’t seem to care as much and make you feel like an idiot just for seeing them, but not Dr. Brummer. I have seen doctors who, even before they examined me, wanted to cut me open and do a surgery, and when I hesitated, told me in my face «we have to fix what’s wrong with you» in a very intimidating manner, when the cause of my symptoms wasn’t even confirmed. I then came back to Dr. Brummer even though I was out of the area at the time and asked for his opinion. He actually examined me (unlike these other doctors) and told me what he thought might have happened with me and told me that I did not need a surgery, at least for the time being. He put me on a common medication and my symptoms were gone soon. I am still fine to this day and am so glad that I came back to Dr. Brummer.
I know it is weird feeling great seeing your ob/​gyn (I feel the same way with my dentist — see my review for her), but I do every time I go see him, and I leave their office smiling, feeling lucky to have a great doctor like Dr. Brummer taking care of me.

Doctor Brummer– is super (so is his nurse Monica)! Friendly, personable and a good bedside manner. I had only planned on using a female OBGYN but he came with such a high recommdation I went for a consult and really liked him. The only reason I don’t give him five stars is because he has limited hours for deliveries. If your looking for a pediatrician his brother Charles is great too!
