Very nice people and quality work. It’s refreshing to find a mechanic who can be trusted. Al treated me like a friend even though we have never previously met. Prices here are a little higher than generic repair shops, but you get what you pay for.

Al and Tom have both gone out of there way today resolve a tricky problem with my car that really needed a quick fix because of a road trip I am making. They communicated regularly so that I could make informed decisions and gave excellent advice.
I have been going to Cunningham’s now for a couple of years and am always impressed with the thoroughness of their service and their honesty. They only do work that needs to be done, and always charge a fair price.
Thank you for taking some of the stress out of my day!

Everyone at Cunningham’s was awesome! I had to get a new clutch and battery and they got me in right away, kept me updated on the progress, and got the job finished much quicker than I would have every anticipated. I have a lot of friends who have used Al for many years. I have been there a couple times over the years as well. This years I have used him I think 4 times in 3 months. Not their fault, I just have a couple cars that needed work all at the same time! A couple weeks ago my wife’s car was making some bad noise. I had her take it Al at his shop. Tom, the front counter guy, was great. He called after they looked at it and gave me a few options and the pros and cons of each. I decided it was not worth fixing. I called a company from the internet to come and see about buying my car. Al and Tom helped me make a good informed decision and I think I got a fair deal.
They both told me to call them when I was looking at cars and they would tell me their experiences with them. I took a car in for a pre purchase inspection. Manny the mechanic did a great and quick job, and changed the oil while he was in their!
They gave me a fair price for the oil and inspection then detailed out the repairs that would be needed sooner or later on the car with a final price for each service.
I will be going back to these guys until they close or I move away!

I have finally found my «go to» car guys! I was very displeased with the auto shop that I had been using, and was on the hunt for a new one. I searched on Unilocal and read all the great reviews so I decided to give them a call. They were so great. They talked with me for about 10 or 15 minutes about the issue that I was experiencing with my car before suggesting that I bring it in. I dropped it off on Saturday night (they are closed on the weekend) and got a call from them almost first thing Monday morning explaining what the issue was. Luckily, it was a simple fix, and they only charged me for the time it took to diagnose the problem, they did not even charge me for the repair itself. They were so nice and helpful… and they did not try to tell me I needed additional things fixed or try to pressure me. I will definitely be taking my car here from now on!

Just googling Al and crew to grab the phone number. Can’t believe I have not yet written a review. I’ve been a customer for going on 15 years now, as have my family and many family friends.
Cunningham’s is the most honest, knowledgeable and courteous auto repair shop that I have ever done business with. They recommend services when needed and tell you when they’re not. No wallet-​gauging here. I would never take my car anywhere else.
And the highest recommendation I can give… my only child getting her first car and I would only trust Cunninghams to tell me it’s safe before she drives it.

I found this auto shop on Unilocal and it had some great reviews. Being the paranoid person that I am, I had heard a noise in my car, and was convinced that it was going to need an expensive repair. I was getting close to the dreaded 100,000 mile mark and the dealership had informed me that I would require a service which included checking my timing belt. I called Cunningham’s and they said to bring the car by in the morning and they would have a look. When I arrived, they had me start it up and he reassured me that it sounded normal. I mentioned what the dealership had said and if he would be able to perform this service for me at a lower price. He looked me dead in the eye and said «your car doesn’t have a timing belt; they changed it to a chain so that you would not require this service.» Well thank God for honest people. I would have paid over $ 1000 dollars to the dealership for a service my car did not need. Cunningham’s checked my whole car and found nothing to be wrong (minus the fact that I need new wind shield wipers). When I picked up my car, I was not charged a thing.
I will never take my car anywhere else. These guys are knowledgeable and honest; something that is hard to find these days. Thank you! And you now have a lifelong customer spreading the word about your great service.

I had a really great first experience with Cunningham’s, specifically with Al. I took my truck in for it’s 100K service and he went over my truck’s recent repairs with me so that they only did the work that was necessary. I ended up getting the engine and tranny oils changed for about $ 414, which was fair to me since it was done the same day (I had called a couple days ahead and made the appointment).
They even sent me a thank-​you card in the mail, which I really appreciated.

Have been going to Cunningham’s for the past 4 years. Would not take our cars anywhere else! Al is honest, dependable and the work done is top notch! He will go the extra mile to save the customer money. We are so lucky to have Cunningham’s in LG!

We all keep looking for the Holy Grail of auto shops, somebody we can trust with our vehicles, somebody that will not steer us wrong and somebody that will give us a fair price for high quality work. Well, you can stop looking, after searching far and wide, this would be that place.
A friend recommend this place to me, and since I have to watch every cent I make, I was looking for a place that was fair with their prices, but had some of the highest quality, and Al did not disappoint. I went in the week before my repairs was needed, and asked for as ballpark price, to make sure I have the money available, well I was given just that, which for me is great to have. On the day of my appointment I handed over the keys to my vehicle (yes, my vehicle has 240K miles on it and still runs like 20k was on the engine). Well, after talking a walk to downtown Los Gatos and returning, my vehicle was done, and they showed me what was done I was very happy to see that the repairs worked. Now the moment of truth, the price of everybody, well to my surprise Al was able to stay within the budget my 2 dollars and I was very happy about that, to get a service that is done well and on budget is my idea of perfect.
I since have brought my vehicle for two other small fixes, and also recommend one other friend to Cunningham’s. If you are looking for a fair place, and treats everybody the same (yes, men and women), this is the place you should give a try. Remember you will find a place that is cheaper, but I am sure the quality of work is not as good as Cunningham’s, so why would you go anyplace else. I look forward to any other repairs that are needed and Al and his team will be the one to get my business.

I just wanted to report that I continue to be impressed by Cunninghams! I have been in San Diego for the past 3+ years, and continue to bring my car to Al, exclusively! Literally… I plan tune-​ups around my trips home. That is how much I trust this company!

It is highly uncommon to encounter a car service place you can thoroughly trust, but that’s who Cunningham’s is.
I don’t normally write reviews, but have to do this one. My wife went to Cunningham’s for a couple years. So many stories of honesty and them trying to save on cost of repairs.
I dropped my car off the other day. While waiting in the lobby for about 15 min, I overheard several conversations between the service guy Danny, the mechanic and parts suppliers. Invariably, the conversations focused on how to save the customer money. They always went out of their way to achieve that goal. It blew me away.
They did the same for me. On top of that, the friendliness, politeness and courtesy were beyond compare.

Really impressed with Cunningham’s. I don’t really have a feel for what’s good or bad pricing for auto service, but it didn’t seem outrageous by any means. My boss recommended them to me, and he’s a big car guy and knows basically everyone in Los Gatos, so I feel like they have to be pretty fair in pricing.
Beyond cost, though, they are super honest (they actually talked me OUT of doing a $ 650 service that I didn’t really need…) and so far seems like they do high quality work. They did everything they could to save me money on my services, were easy to work with, returned the car on time, and didn’t try to pull any bs on me. They also sent me a very nice thank you note after the service saying that they were glad to have been able to work on my car. Tons of points for Cunningham’s. With any luck, I won’t take my car to get serviced that often… but when I do, I think I’ll go visit the guys at Cunningham’s.

While performing an oil change ($ 50) for me, Al found some potential problems. He called with a quote, but I decided to wait on it. Fluids, lube, and tire rotation is included, but it’s not all noted on the work order. I kind of like those checklist places to use as a bit of vehicle history. The work was done in around an hour, but I dropped my car off, so the time could be off a bit. I did not get a call notifying me my car was ready, which was a little bit of a bummer. There are coffie and cookies in the waiting area, and being a new customer, the owners followed up with a welcome card. That’s class!
The prices are on the expensive side of the scale, but it seems like they know how to take care of their customers.

I’ve known this place was here for a very long time, years ago I delivered auto parts to them as a delivery driver. They were great back then, and they still are!
I thought of them when I needed a shop I could trust to inspect the front suspension of my Tacoma pickup recently. That can become VERY expensive work if you go to a shop that doesn’t really know what they’re doing and/​or one that diagnoses problems by replacing things that may or may not be the true cause of your mechanical issues.
Al at Cunningham’s was very honest with me in telling me that my problems appeared to be coming from an alignment ($ 150) problem, NOT a hard suspension component ($ 1200) problem. It was great to hear the truth from someone who easily could have tried to rack up a huge repair bill right under my nose. Great shop!

I’ve been coming to Al and company for years now. They always fix the car quickly and for fair compensation. They even helped me out years ago when I was less well off than I am today and had to have an entire engine replaced. Highly recommended!

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed Cunningham’s yet! Cunningham’s was recommended to me by
, the Bay Area Autocross website, and I’ve been bringing my Silverado (DD and tow truck) here ever since! I have had them replace my water pump, service my transmission and rear-​end, wheel bearings replaced, etc. I bring any job to them and get my baby back the same day better than ever!
Their customer service is the best and their prices are fair. Al is great! He’s honest, knowledgeable, and a genuinely nice person. They also accommodate my schedule by allowing night/​morning drop offs.

By miles, the best, most knowledgeable, honest, pleasant car repair place I have ever experienced. I am a customer for life.
Now, I never like to pour money into my cars, but it is inevitable. From oil changes to major repairs, these guys do a great job, and prices are fair.
Al and his crew know everything about cars, from classics to the latest models. The mechanics are great, never had to bring a car back or had any concerns whatsoever.
Location is adjacent to Vasona on University Ave in a light industrial complex. WELL WORTH coming here for any type of maintenance or repair.
