White Tiger Schools

White tiger has changed my life in all aspects. A gem of a school that will carry on throughout my children and theirs! Helpful and knowledgable staff makes you feel welcomed and a part of the family. I’ve been studying and training here for 3 years now and it’s been the best 3 years of my life !

I’ve been going to White Tiger Kung Fu for 5 months now and am having such a blast! They have their own under ground parking lot (yay!).
What I love the most is that every class is different. They always change the warm ups and doing different fighting lessons. Nothing is ever boring or monotonous.
I also love the instructors! All of them are warm, caring, and extremely supportive. Always encouraging you to try your best.
All my peers are the same. Nice, friendly, supportive people.
I love that I’m not only gaining self confidence (and muscle) but learning discipline and self defense.
I also love that we incorporate meditation into our practice.
I encourage you to give this place a shot if your looking into starting Kung Fu!

Ever since I was a child I always wanted to learn martial arts and finally I have the opportunity to accomplish that dream. It’s better late than never. My friend an I came to the free class try out and we both loved it and signed up that same day. This is our 5^th month with white tiger school and every time is a learning experience. I like that every class is always a different routine and at the same time you learn what is needed to continue your goal. Everyone is very helpful and treat each other with much respect like a family. I feel more confident about my self with this path that i’m taking here at white tiger school.

I cannot say enough good things about this school. My first experience w/​White Tiger was a little over 4 years ago when my wife & I were looking to enroll our son (6 at the time) into martial arts. We went to a few other martial arts schools beforehand but none engaged him the way Jen, the kids’ instructor, did when we finally came upon White Tiger. From the get-​go, our son was enthusiastic & insistent about signing up so we did just that. We gauged his progress & saw how caring not just Jen was but all the instructors & staff as well… So much so that, after a couple of years, I decided to join the school as well. We are definitely a White Tiger Family as we regularly attend events & even my wife, who is not currently a member, helps out and we’ve become friends w/​other students and instructors alike. My son & I have been able to experience everything White Tiger has had to offer, from martial arts to qigong and haven’t looked back on our decision to become part of White Tiger. It is definitely a family environment where everyone is always very welcoming, inviting, and interested in helping out their fellow brother/​sister, student and instructor alike. White Tiger has so become a part of our lives that my family just moved closer to the IE and my son and I still make the effort to go class. Nothing closer to our new home matches what we have found at White Tiger. This is, in no small part, due to not only our ongoing involvement but our initial impression and contact with the school & Jen, herself. Not only does she have a great way w/​the kids but the adults as well. She has no problem in helping to motivate the adults. I’ve taken her qigong and adult martial classes and she knows her stuff. She’ll give you a workout when you need one and will help you come back to center and heal when you need that too. Everyone looking for a new and different approach to training and life, in general, should not hesitate to give White Tiger a try.

I went to white tiger to study Qigong. I live with Parkinsons and Traumatic Brain Injury and I had heard that Qigong could be very helpful. White Tiger signed me up and took my membership fees even though they knew of my condition — After several weeks my instructor Jen told me she was doubtful i could progress. If they didn’t think I could progress in Qigong, they shouldn’t have taken my money. They didn’t offer to reimburse me for the membership. Also, Jen spent a lot of time trying to sell me herbal products. SInce i left White TIger I have found a real master of Qigong, who not only has improved my balance and conditioning, but doesn’t sell me products. Stay away from White Tiger — especially instructor Jen — they have no understanding of Qigong!

i have been taking the fit fight classes and cannot be happier with my results. the schedules are perfect and the class can never get boring. Its an amazing fun way to really get into shape! although difficult at times it is so worth it. Dennis is a fantastic instructor and really makes this class enjoyable!

This school is the best. I have been training here for about a year now and I have grown so much not only in my martial abilities, but also as an individual. Everyone is always so welcoming and supportive; always willing to go that extra mile. The instructors always bring the best out of people and make sure you excel. They always have faith in everyone and that is something I love. Not only does this school excel in kung fu classes, but there are also cardio, grappling, sparring, and qigong (meditation) classes. All of these are well worth it and I’ve always taken away something from each class I go to. Once you become part of the White Tiger Family it is a family that will be apart of your life forever.

My daughters have been taking the Kung Fu and Cardio classes and the results have been awesome. They immigrated from the Philippines last year and were a bit scared. My teenager was nervous to go into an American high school, due to all the news stories about bullying and wanted to be home schooled. By the time she earned her orange sash, she requested to be enrolled. These girls have gained so much self-​confidence and they are making friends. The school really feels like a family and they actually have to earn their ranks. When they test, it feels like a great accomplishment. The school has a variety of classes including Qi Gong and MMA sparring. This place is the real deal and I would proudly recommend White Tiger Schools to everyone.

This place is awesome. My daughter loves learning white tiger Kung fu and her instructor, Si Jei, is so good with the kids. She is super patient and attentive, also very good in her kraft. I like the fact that this school advocates the mind, body, and spirit. Also, the community that this school has seems very close and supportive. I definitely recommend this school to anyone with kids as well as for theirselves. I also hope to join the fit fight classes very soon. Hope this review helps!

Came here to check out the tea ceremony one Saturday. WTS has a welcoming and warm vibe the moment you walk in. No worries if you know nothing about martial arts or are unfamiliar with kung fu training. Get to a tea ceremony to get a good basis of what WTS philosophy and kung fu training is all about.
From kids classes to a wide range of adult classes, it really can be a fitness home for your entire family. In fact, during my recent visit, that’s exactly what I saw. During the tea ceremony, you not only dialogue with others while tasting yummy oolong tea but also got to try out some meditation and Qiquong, a practice similar to tai chi that promotes a healthy immune system. The commitment that the instructors exude are what makes its clients believers in its system and philosophy. So, don’t delay… check out their tea ceremony or any of its classes that are open to all levels.
Free parking is in the structure behind the studio so it’s super easy to get to.
WTS sells healing balms and other products infused with original herbal formulas from the Shaolin Temple. Used it for my sore shoulder and it worked wonders! Yes!

I am so very glad that I booked some private lessons with Sifu Dennis as they have proven to be Priceless! On Monday we reviewed Yih Chong Bo Kuen, our Foundation form, breaking it down into looking at all the micro transitions within transitions– amazing! With his help I was able to adjust my stance, my posture, and the fine tuning towards fighting applications that were needed to show me the «why’s» of «what» I am doing within the form. Then yesterday we focused on Small Tiger #1 and what a difference a day makes! Such gems of information shared that I hadn’t thought of before, like your back (I thought passive) hand position is such an important role in linking your moves continuously together as well as your centerline defense. That blew my mind. Things like Centerline Striking, Opening the hip within a move, and keeping your back hand position in minor triangle are all things that I needed his coaching in order to see within the exercise. Having his insight as a longtime practitioner as well as teacher changed my perspective and I’m extremely glad that I booked his time for my martial education. Sifu Dennis makes this extensive system accessible, with humor and insight and I feel very lucky to be training at White Tiger with him as one of our amazing instructors…

True masters, effective techniques, powerful health regimens and a beautiful community. The White Tiger family will not let you down.

These guys are the real thing! They offer a great range of classes, from Kung Fu Cardio to Qi Gong. They even have weekend classes for little ones! (Just make sure to call ahead and make a reservation, because they are closed for testing one Saturday a month.)
The teachers, staff and fellow students are SUPER supportive. I’ve gone to some pretty snotty, know-​it-​all classes and this school does not attract that crowd. I think it’s partly because the teachers themselves are so humble and unassuming. Speaking of assumptions, don’t make the one my boyfriend and I made: just because it doesn’t look like the teacher is putting much force in demonstration, it probably won’t hurt. Man, that was a big bruise of a lesson!

Every time I come to learn here at WTKF I come away enlightened! This place is really awesome! With instruction in kung fu, practical real life self defense and medtiation, not to mention their herbal jow to strengthen & heal. I am feeling strong in mind and body everyday. Best investment ive ever made to attend WTKF. no regrets coming here, my only regret is not finding this place sooner. White tiger kung fu rocks!!!

I took cardio classes at White Tiger last year. Unfortunately, it’s too far from my house to drive there every other day. I must say though, that those classes were the best cardio classes I’ve ever taken. Dennis (the instructor) will make sure you sweat before you leave. In the beginning, you might feel the routines are too tough but you’ll get a hang of it and later realize you’re in the best shape of your life!
I’d definitely recommend anyone, young or old, to work out at white tiger. You pay a little extra but you’ll definitely get the exercise you need. Worth the money and TIME!

I have taken the cardio class a few times and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed! I have visited many martial arts studios in Los Angeles recently and believe this is one of the best.

One of my sons has been going to this school for about a year and a half, and I’ve been extremely happy with them.
When we first looked around for a martial arts school, we didn’t have a preference about style. I learned Tae Kwon Do as a kid, but the couple of Tae Kwon Do schools we checked out left me disappointed. One school had an etiquette manual about where elders were supposed to sit in the car, who drinks first when served alcohol, etc… Ridiculous. A few other schools seemed more about generating revenue with artificial and costly «steps».
So, we ended up at White Tiger, and after seeing a class in session and talking with Dennis and Jen, I asked my son, and he said, «no»… But I convinced him to atleast try a session before deciding, so we came back the next time, and after one session, my son was hooked.
Dennis and Jen are great teachers; fun, tough, patient, easy-​going, and all around nice people. The school isn’t hell-​bent on squeezing dollars out of you either. There’s a monthly fee that’s more than fair. And the testing fees are low, and easily justifiable.
My son’s lost some weight, became stronger and gained confidence, so I’ve gotten everything I could have wished for. He’s about to move up to the adult class, so we’ll see about that, but I really couldn’t recommend them more!

Just got home from my first class at White Tiger. Color me impressed!
The other participants were warm and welcoming and immediately put me at ease — it felt like more of a supportive community of like-​minded, respectful, kind and friendly folks committed to health and fitness compared to the usual «go in, work out, and don’t make eye contact with anyone» workout class. I liked it.
The instructor, Dennis, kept an eye out for me and called me out when I was slacking (I swear he has eyes in the back of his head!). I sweated up a storm and finished the class happy and resolved to put in even more effort next time.
The space is peaceful and serene, conducive to both a hard workout and a relaxing stretch. Can’t wait for the next class! :)

I’ve tried a lot of kung fu places on the west side and this is by far the best one. Reasonably priced and great variety of training — in addition to kung fu, they have yoga, meditation, cardio classes, mma… Great zen atmosphere. Really cool people, very friendly students — it’s like «Cheers» but with kicking instead of drinking!
