Weiland’s Brewery Underground

After 1 hr of wait, the food never came, despite us leaving our seats 3x to ask about it. We finally had to just leave and return to work on empty stomaches. Even then, never got an apology either. Completely ridiculous, unprofessional and a joke!

If you were a fan of the old location AND not looking for just a bar… Stay away, stay far, far away!
The menu and décor are reminiscent of a poor man’s Yard House. This is unfortunately what Weiland’s has become.
The one server (at lunchtime) was both unfamiliar with the menu and how to be a server. The entire order was wrong and required both a busser and the bartender (who became our replacement server) to try and fix it.
The manager came to the table and we tried to have a conversation about what was wrong and the disappointment in relation to the previous location. It was obvious he couldn’t care less as his only response was «I can only be sorry for not meeting your expectations «and then he walked away.
While the buffalo is on the menu, they don’t serve it any longer. It has been replaced with Venison, which I enjoy… But you used to go to Weiland’s for the awesome buffalo burgers. Nothing is awesome any longer. Since it isn’t the easiest location to find or park at, and with the horrendous service and declining quality of food, it is no wonder that pretty much everyone else was just drinking at the underground bar.

Love coming here! The food is great and the beer selection is fantastic! You can’t beat there happy hour selection or prices! And the wait staff like VANESSA are so friendly and make my experience perfect every time! I strongly recommend this place for lunch, a date or a fun underground dinner!

Would have liked to come in for a drink but they were closed over an hour before their posted closing time! People were still in there, but doors were closed. Had to pay for parking. Call before you go, maybe they’ll answer, they didn’t answer for me!

Avoid this place at all costs during lunch. Understaffed, slow service, and food is sub-​par. Ordered the NY steak medium rare and it came out well done. When mentioned, no amends were made and the service was slow so I couldn’t order anything else before my lunch hour was up. That was the most expensive sautéed kale and steak fries lunch ever.

I’ve eaten lunch here a few times, and it’s okay for that. but I like coming for a few brewskis and the happy hour menu. Draft beers are $ 1 less and the food items run $ 3-​$ 6. Fhe chicken quesadilla and the BBQ rib tips are my favorite happy hour menu items. The ribs come with an order of shoestring fries and the rib tips are pretty good. The IPA selection is nice and if you want to spend some real $$, order some of the bottled Belgium beers that they have behind the bar.
Lots of TVs with a variety of games on at all times.

Love this place! Vanessa and Adam are hands down my favorite bartender and server ever! And the rest of the staff here are amazing and friendly too!
Great happy hour! Great beer selection. I’ve had the wings, the spinach salad and the steak and Gorgonzola salad, and I’m craving it all now just writing about it!
My favorite frequent lunch spot in downtown

I found a piece of packaging or wrap something in my salad and a manager came over and said oh sorry we are short of chefs and took off with the piece I found. That was it. Wtf. I’m never coming here again and I will make sure that every singe person I know does not come here. If I could give negative review, I will give them here. DO NOT COME HERE. They don’t care about your food or at least the manager doesn’t for sure. I will try to leave review once in a while just to make sure that everyone on Unilocal knows this

Came here for lunch and liked the fact that you sit in the restaurant and not in the central dining court with all the noise and hustle. The place is big and has a cool ambiance. While I didn’t have any of their beer, I did order the Hangover burger that comes with a fried egg. I loved it. It’s messy but that’s part of the allure I guess. It comes with their homemade chips which were a little thick and crunchy and not too salty.
The drinks were constantly refilled without asking which is a sign of good service. I’m eager to go back and try different items on the menu.

The garlic fries are amazing. I am not a French fry person but these rock. Service was great. Spaz was bartender. Very attentive

Had the most horrible bartender experience ever. The main bartender (she who shall not be named) is one big… you know what. Completely cracked under the pressure of too many customers from our office having a happy hour there and started to refuse drinks and make customers feel stupid for ordering certain drinks. That coupled with a horrible underground experience and the entire barback being slow, no more.

Came back a second time and sooooo much better. I’m guessing they recognized us but regardless 100% better than last time. Every aspect was touched and fixed.

«B» Team on deck! Where to start, forgot my drink during «Happy Hour»… Wow! Half ass apology, absurdly slow service. Apparently they had to goto Japan to kill the cow for my Kobe beef burger, grow the garlic for the «Garlic Fries» and whatever other whimsical excuse one can imagine. Oh oh oh it gets worse, change the channel from the basketball game I had been watching and it was «tied during the 4^th quarter»! Sweet Baby Jesus! Two word summation «So Disappointing».
What happened to you Weiland? And why are you taking it out on me?

Weiland’s Brewery is located under the City National Bank. Real convenient if you want to sneak in a drink during work hours and for after work. I’ve come here for lunch a few times. The food is decent bar food which serves entrees but I would put in the quality of a respectable gastrobub. Probably a tier below Yardhouse. Entrees include salads, pizza, burgers, pasta, fish and chips, roasted chicken and sandwiches.
My go to here is the crabcake sandwich that comes with garlic fries. Not bad, not great either. Waiters here are good though and very friendly.

My husband and I had lunch there, I had the Salmon Pasta with Tomato and Asparagus in Vodka Sauce and my husband had the Philly cheese steak with Garlic Fries the service was excellent and the food is amazing!

Happy hour: draft selection was like whatevs. Stopped ordering because the location is in a plaza and didn’t want to stare at mcDonald employees across from me. If there were blinds or windows were tinted I would have probably stayed. Happy hour pricing is not bad.
I think this place is good for lunch or for people that like sports. TV caters to sport watchers and it’s loud enough to hear wherever your sitting.
Our server was really nice but lacked knowledge of the menu. Good thing it wasn’t a busy night.

This place is where my work colleagues generally congregate for team lunches. No one I’ve dined with has complained about their food, and they have had quite a selection of sandwiches and entrees. Me? I get the Cobb salad every time. It’s good, not great, but gets the job done. A little pricy, but not expensive.
The garlic fries are bomb! Get these unless you avoid junk food on principle.
One note, their Philly Cheesesteak is… not like any Philly I’ve had before. I’d stick to Boo’s for those, personally.
Overall, it’s good and gets the job done, with enough decent menu items to keep a variety of tastes and preferences happy.

I went to this place with a group of co-​workers and didn’t like the food.
I went back the second time with a co-​worker and got both bad service and bad food.
I came back recently because another co-​worker wanted to go here for her birthday.
Ordered champagne chicken with sauteed kale and french fries.
Champagne chicken ($ 13.95): grilled chicken breast cooked with a creamy champagne sauce and grapes. The chicken was tender and the sauce was kinda good. Too bad they didn’t give me enough sauce. I didn’t care for the grapes but the kale was not bad.
Did they change the chef?
