My cousin planned her birthday party there on 6⁄5. We had dinner at WP24 then came downstairs just find out the lounge was closed because of low occupancy… That really sucked because her guest were already in route to the hotel. The person who runs the lounge should have stated over the phone that there could of been a possibility that lounge would be shut down so we could of chosen a different location.

Nice place to grab a drink before a game or concert when in the LA Live area. We went there the day of Kobe’s last game at Staples(last game of his career) and it was a zoo. All the other bars in the area were capacity so we figured, JW Marriott? It should be chill… WRONG. It was so packed. It was like an NBA finals atmosphere. But the crowd notwithstanding, you can see that the Mixing Room on any other night would certainly be a nice place to grab a quiet(hopefully) drink and conversation with a small group. It’s adjacent to the lobby of the JW Marriott and a short walk to the rest of the offerings that make up LA Live. Modern styling, clean lines. I like the feel of the space… Will be sure to check it out next time I’m in the area to get a better feel of the place on a normal night.

********************* 1503 ********************** We were here many times during the MBA Tech conference. We even did a cocktail reception here. They didn’t have the space ready on time for us. It was a windy day. Our sign stand kept falling. They didn’t clean the table nor re-arrange the outdoor furniture was we expected. It was 5:50PM, 20 minutes passed our booking time before they served us food. Our clients came, and there was no server to take our orders. There was also one waitress for our event from 5:30 — 7:30PM. We booked for 30 people, but our company was quite busy, so we had about 50 people, with that said, the management should be able to accommodate us. More people is more money right? On the high note, our waitress was super friendly and attentive to us throughout the evening. The chicken wing, the hummus, the veggies, the roll were all good, but the salsa was delicious. Veuve Cliquot Champagne for $ 125 per bottle is quite high mark up on their limited wine list.

Horrible service. Had to flag down people for attention when the place is empty. Asked for a check from a different waitress who basically said its not her table.

Hip spot located at the lobby/ground level the the Marriot hotel across from the Staples Center. Great place to meet up for some drink and small appetizers while you wait to go into the Staples Center.

The Mixing Room is a really tastefully done chic spot located right in the heart of the Ritz and JW in DTLA. This place actually serves up some pretty stiff drinks and the vibe is always solid here. The décor is rather modern and there are a ton of indoor/outdoor seating spots to enjoy your drinks. Overall, I look at this place as an extremely solid nightcap or prep for your night out. Pros– Décor Ambiance Indoor/outdoor seating Stiff drinks Decent DJ Location Cons– A bit pricey Random hours Can get crowded

Our original plan was to head over to Seven Grand, however, it was a very chilly 59 degrees outside and we were both getting over a cold so we decided to stay inside the hotel and check out The Mixing Room. Personally, I enjoyed this place. We tried the drinks on their custom menu as well as some personal favorites and they were all very good. Our server was great. He recommended great drinks and offered information whenever we asked. The DJ was on point playing hits from every decade and genre. At one point, I just had to jump up and dance. That was pretty cool because this certainly is not a club. All in all it was a good night here. Well, except for that the drinks were super expensive(but, duh, this is DTLA and it’s the JW Marriott) and there were the typical douche bags trying to pork everything in sight.

Apparently they thought the room that smells like shiite and plays music that is shiite should be a lounge for people that have zero to half their five senses active. Smells like sewer… like H2S levels unsafe, and has the worst music. The Ritz should fire the manager and buy an exhaust fan. Get a DJ that shouldn’t be free or at least the worst DJ in the universe.

Always enough room to sit and mingle, always good drinks and service. We had a nice experience with Manny our server, very genuine and engaged in the conversations. I, as well my partner, recomend him. THANKS for a great time manny! # SilverLining #SmokySour

Good place to hang out before and after Los Angeles Kings games. Daryl Evans and Nick Nickson do their post game radio show(Kings Talk) here. Located in the lobby of the JW Marriott and Ritz. Nice clean modern décor. There is a good assortment of cocktails, beers(on tap & bottled) and wine. They have Hennessy(one of our favorites). They also have a good assortment of appetizers which include: pizza, hummus, meatballs, taquitos, tacos and wings. We ordered the Brisket Taquitos and chips and salsa. Succulent beef rolled inside the crispy tortilla. The avocado sauce was pretty good. A nice little something to hold us over before our San Manuel Lexus Club dinner.

Funny how I grew up in Los Angeles, yet I have never noticed this lounge even though I’ve been to LA Live many many times. This place was seriously a gem for me. I stumbled upon this place on a Saturday night and surprisingly it was not that packed. It was just the right amount of people. Inside is a very trendy modern lounge-y feel. They played house music which is what I love at lounges. I especially like how you can sit and the waitresses come and serve you. The crowd was I would say 30’s to 40’s. Everyone was dressed pretty business casual. I love how it is not filled with young loud people, this place definitely is on the classier side. I would recommend this place for date night, not really a place to come with friends and be ratchet with. I would definitely come back again!

Pros: great location and good drinks. Cons: poor customer service(particularly for the high cost drinks), unwelcoming servers, and overpriced. Kind of strikes me as a place where the servers are arrogant and there for show. One server says different things from the other regarding available drinks.

I’ll chalk it up to today being Valentine’s Day, but knowing that it’s Valentine’s Day AND there’s a King’s game, it is severely understaffed tonight. There’s only ONE server for the entire lounge and she’s slammed. She can’t even pretend to care about anyone. And I feel bad for her. I’m just hoping we get our food in time and make it to the game by the time the puck drops…

The Mixing Bar is a good place to grab a drink and lounge around if you’re staying at the hotel. The open layout and outdoor seating is inviting and relaxing. Plenty of TVs inside and outside if you want to watch a game. The bar is well staffed with plenty of bar tenders and waiters. The staff was also very nice during my visit. Didn’t get a chance to try the food but it smelled good.

Spacious, well-lit vibe. Not your dark, hipster party joint for sure. The Mixing Room has a very open set-up, and people seem to flow in and out. The drinks are average metropolitan prices — com’on folks, you’re in a Ritz, in downtown LA, don’t be shocked at paying $ 15-ish a drink. The Mixing Room isn’t really my jam, but I could come back if I was stranded in the LA Live blandness and needed an alcoholic getaway.

I like the Mixing Room but I am not too crazy about how much they charge for drinks here. A Jameson on the rocks and an Angel City IPA cost me $ 24 before tip. Location: inside the JW Marriott on the first floor across from Glance Wine Bar. They serve food here too! Love the modern feel but again, hate the prices!

We wanted to do some lounging at the lobby bar at JW Marriott, saw this nice looking lounge near the hotel entrance, decided to give it a try. Loved the modern, trendy and sleek décor, there was a DJ playing relaxing lounge music too. We chose to sit at the bar because we weren’t going to hang around for long time. They have a good drinks and appetizers menu, I would wanted to order some apps if we hadn’t just had dinner. The blood orange Cosmo caught my eye, let’s try that! It was so strong and tasty, the color was so pretty! Hubby ordered Vesper martini, the very friendly bartender looked around to see if they had Lillet, turned out they had two flavors, never tasted the rose flavor, it added better taste to the Vesper cocktail, hubby liked it a lot. I had a shot of grey Goose chill before we left. It was a beautiful lounge with relaxing music and friendly bartenders, definitely my idea of lounging!

This place has a crazy confluence of people on a Saturday afternoon. When you have a bunch of restaurant industry people for an event, a King’s game, and a number of tourists and locals it’s a zoo. However we came in to see some friends who happened to be working the All Star Chef Classic event nearby and they already established a prime space. Met a few folks from Paris and Los Angeles restaurants and got some insight on what they loved to eat and drink. After a number of cocktails and chatter we realized the sun was going down. So we bid adieu to the Barrel Aged Old Fashioned’s and made our way into the night of more eating to fight off the effects of the booze.

This is a nice place to hang out before going to an event at the Staples Center. The Mixing Room is located in the heart of L.A. Live directly across the street from the entertainment capital Staples Center inside the Ritz Carlton Hotel. If you go during Happy Hour or before a high caliber event across the street, it will probably be a bit harder to find a seat for everyone. It gets full, so you might need to stand around the bar area only sipping your drink. They do serve food, but we didn’t get the chance to try. The bartender was real nice to us. She mixed our drinks perfectly… probably with more alcohol content than anticipated. That’s why it was perfect! LOL. We had a couple rounds of Long Island Iced Teas, and Red Bull with Vodka, but no beer this time. We didn’t want to straggle across the street causing a scene, nor did we want to get into trouble. We simply wanted to enjoy the concert being a bit light headed. Yes, and it worked! Thanks Mixing Room.
