Here now, thank God we checked our to go order(I seriously over tipped $ 6 on take out) the guy behind the bar messed up our order, then rolled his eyes when we asked it to be fixed. We asked to speak to the manager and he rolled his eyes again, apparently this tool is the manager. Do not waste money or time at this counter burger. Sub par service & the food is over cooked & nasty compared to other counter burgers in the area.

I love that you can choose all the elements, but from your dining chAir. First of all don’t eat at all before you come here, you’ll want to savor it! This burger experience starts with a menu of options for your burger… type of meat(beef, turkey, lamb, etc.), size of patty(small, medium, large), bread type, topping choices such as type of vegetables, cheese types, sides… so many choices, it’s fun! My choice, small beef patty, lettuce, tomatoes and sautéed mushrooms, mixed green lettuce, kale, tomatoe, cheddar cheese with chipotle aoli snd thousand island on Hawaiian bun with sweet potatoe fries(ummmm getting hungry just describing it)! So the shake choices are just as exciting and you can totally customize… had to try it, my choice hazelnut, sea salt shake. Might be the best shake I’ve ever had…(Just sayin’)it was a reasonable size just an 8oz. glass, so it felt doable. … I couldn’t finish any of my meal, but it was worth the try and every delicious bite, I really tried to eat it all lol. It was my only meal of the day and it made me very, very happy! Treat yourself HERE!

Disappointed they no longer have the Caprese salad on the menu. Doubly disappointed their happy hour offerings aren’t as good as before. Now only $ 2 off the appetizers and beer/wine. I just got a burger since I was in a rush. I ordered it medium well and somehow it came well done. The stars are all for the waitress who checked in on me and I just looked at her and said it’s pretty dry. I was just going to eat it since I didn’t have much time left, after waiting 15mins for my burger. But she insisted she’ll get me a medium well done in 8mins. She delivered. I ate. I dashed out. Enough said.

Pretty good. No complaints. Been here several times since I live down the street. I’ve only had the veggie burger but it’s a good one. Parmesan fries with rosemary and roasted garlic aioli are delicious. Cute little patio on Sunset. You can really be as creative as you want or go for a basic burger/salad. They have decent beer/wine selection. For some reason it’s really bright inside so the patio is a good option. Place dies out pretty early.

This was my first time trying a burger in sunset and was not dissapointed. The menu had a dizzying amount of options but I settled on a ½lb beef burger on brioche w/sauteed mushrooms and horseradish sauce(the horseradish was actually pretty spicy!). With the sweet potato fries and onion rings I have to admit I couldn’t finish all of it. It was also refreshing to see a decent selection of craft brews on tap(i settled on a triple up a which was perfect. With the order coming out around 15 min and a friendly staff to boot, of course I’ll make another visit soon!

I love the counter and this location is my favorite. One time they gave me the wrong fries and let me keep them and replaced the order with the correct ones. Excellent customer service and quick service!

Best burgers in the area!!! I came here with my boyfriend for the first time and it did not dissapoint! The staff was attentive and polite. The crispy onion strings were to die for! I got the southwestern burger and the black bean salsa in it was perfection! My boyfriend got the bbq bacon burger and he absolutely loved it! We definetly will be back to try the Mediterranean burger ;) I would definitely reccomend this location!

One of my favorite burger spots in LA. Absolutely delicious. The old school burger is da bomb! From the onions, to the pickles, and the juicy patty. Can’t wait to go again!

Easy to get to, good parking lot. Also next to my favorite car wash. It’s a great place to go with a group of friends. Service is fast and friendly and there is something for everybody here. It’s not cheap but the quality is great. My favorites here are the KBBQ burger, the Chili Cheese Fries and of course the ability to build your own burger or salad is just the best. It does seem a few bucks cheaper to get one of their already built burgers or sandwiches as opposed to building your own but that’s the price you pay to customize.

I had a negative experience at The Counter in Century City a while ago, and unfortunately let it inform my opinion on the chain as a whole. Shouldn’t have done that! Cuz this one of my better burger experiences of 2015! After having a round of disappointing sliders at Marie Callendar’s the day before, I was on the hunt for some quality ones. Saw«mini burgers» on the sign outside and made a beeline for ‘em! Four perfectly cooked burgerettes on King’s Hawaiian rolls with sliced cheddar, finely chopped red onion and a ramekin of ketchup on the side. Perfection. Service was polite and prompt, I’ll definitely be back.

Modern trendy burger spot. Don’t like how they charge extra for all the sauces. They offer good meat and cheese choices for your burger. The shakes are hand made **thunbs up

This is a nice location, next to a car wash(an average car wash based on the job they did on the car I dropped off there — but that’s another review). They do have parking right behind the building(they charge for parking but you can get 2 hours comped if you bring your ticket into the restaurant). I’d forgotten how expensive a Counter burger can be. We had two burgers, one order of fries and two waters and it was $ 29(before tip). The burger was good but not excellent. It probably would have been better if I spent another $ 1.25 for mushrooms. But, by the time I got down to that part of the ordering menu, I was tired of checking things that cost me more money. It is a nice location, plenty of windows and note that if you’re eating there in the afternoon, you might not want to sit by them as the sun does come down right on you, making it a bit tough to look at your tablemate and have a conversation. If you’re having your car washed and you’re hungry, give it a shot but I don’t think you’ll be pleased with the burger base on the price you pay. For $ 15 each(with the fries that were good), I’d expect more. Good luck and I hope you enjoy!

I have always been a fan of the counter since their first restaurant they opened. I have been eating here for many years now. Since then, they have added several items to their menu including organic meat and other organic items. I was truly impressed to see that they are trending with the times. It is important to be aware of what is put in our food. I ordered my burger with a gluten free bun and 1⁄3 organic beef. It was very good. We also ordered the quinoa salad(amazing) and sweet potato fries. I strongly suggest coming here. There is a parking lot in the back as well.

I came tonight with big expectations for these customized burgers but it turned out not so great. The pretzel bun is too big, the medium-well meat was too well done, no juice left in it. I’ve made a combination with goat cheese spread — not good combination with the beef, but it was my choice after all… The fries though were great — thin, crispy and tasty. The coleslaw was dry, tasty though. In general its OK but nothing special

So you’re walking down a beach boardwalk somewhere in Venice beach or the Jersey shore, when suddenly, about 100 feet in front of you, there she is… … the HOTTEST girl you’ve ever seen. Face of a young duchess, eyes of a sexy comic book female villain, and flowing hair like a super model in a cheesy shampoo commercial. You can even almost see the inner beauty of her kind heart, gentle spirit, fierce independence… she is the fantasy girl you’ve always thought about, but never thought would ever exist. With each step closer to you, your heart pounds ever so slightly quicker, and sweat begins to bead on your forehead. She sees you. She doesn’t look away. She smiles at you, as you nervously smile back, and a new-found confidence takes over your persona. You become the hero you’ve been searching for since childhood. You become your comic fantasy of yourself. You become one with the universe, and SHE sees it… and walks directly towards you. 10 feet away, just as you’re about to utter words that Casanova himself would envy, you glance down… and the record screeches. She has NOASS. There is a vacuum where there should be buns. ugh!!! And with that, my fantasy of a perfect burger at The Counter came to a screeching halt. GREAT story, GREAT beef, but holy shit, the burger buns SUCK! It was like two stale pieces of 3-week-old dough that tasted foul. I swear it looked like I was having oral sex with my burger as I actually tried to eat around the bread and just consume the meat. Very awkward, sloppy, and even my friend complained about the same thing. Incredibly disappointing. Anti-gluten fans will be ok here as the meat is amazing, but for traditionalists that require the perfect bun to go with the perfect burger, the chick has NOASS!!!

I was hungry, had an hour to kill, and saw a sign through the window that said«gluten free? So can we!» And BAM just like that, I discovered what I’ve decided is my new go-to burger place. Seriously, this place is so cool and SO good. Their staple is build-your-own burgers, but the menu offers more than that. There are salads, sides, milkshakes, and a bunch of great beers and wine. The sides all sounded super good: street corn, grilled veggies, sweet potato fries. I was practically kicking myself afterward for missing the special’s sign, featuring Sriracha fries and garlic Parmesan corn. Seriously, who even thinks of these things? But every one sounded delicious. The pre-made burgers were even so creative with options like brie & ground turkey and Korean BBQ. AND if you feel like being healthier, you can turn any burger into a full-fledged salad, subtracting the bread. I opted for a build-your-own burger. Looking at the multitude of options is a little overwhelming, yeah, but I like options. I have a bit of an obsession with sun dried tomatoes, and The Counter lets me put them on a burger? Uhm, awesome! The base price can add up quickly though, with things like cheese, a fried egg or a pretzel bun costing extra. My main complaint was for $ 1 more, the cheese was a little skimpy. But my gluten free burger was juicy and 100% celiac safe(as tested by my super cross-contamination sensitive stomach). The décor is clean and modern, and there’s an outdoor area that’s cute and dog-friendly. When I visited at 1 pm on a Friday, the service was on point, and The Counter is already on my short list of places to go back to. Like, so much so I texted my boyfriend part-way through my burger that we needed to come back together… So seriously, go check this place out now!

The concept is really cool. Who wouldn’t want to make their own burger? You come in, get seated, and they hand you a check off list. You basically check off everything from the kind of buns you want, to meat, lettuce(yes even lettuce), cheese, sauce, and etc. How cool is that?! Be careful not to check off half the list because your burger can get pretty big and full and things will just spill out like a mess that have been predicted beforehand but couldn’t be saved. I am a pretty simple person so I had a pretty simple burger. Also I love their sauce options! But man oh man my friend’s burger was a tower. He added things to his burger just cause and why not. But he finished it and was satisfied. The fries were awesome too. The burgers were really good. For a little bit over $ 10 and you can create your own burger, I am pleased! The restaurant is spacious and a little bit chilly inside for me the both time I have came here. Parking is free behind he building with validation.

So I’m a burger once every few months kind of person and they deliver without question. When I’m ready to put on my stretchy pants and throw calorie counts to the wind — The Counter it is. I love creating my own custom milkshake — chocolate with caramel & whipped marshmallow, don’t forget the whipped cream. So many delicious things to build just the right shake. Worth every sip, penny and calorie. Then I can build my own burger!!! There are endless ways to formulate, match and create. You’ve got the beef, veggie, chicken, even bison options!!!(Mmmmm…bison). So many toppings, so many combos, so many buns!!! My head almost explodes with excitement and I’m doing the happy yummy dance all through my meal. And you can get a spread flight!!! Order three burger spreads and they put them on the side for you to slather all over each individual bite of that delicious burger you just built. The only place they fall short are the fries & onion rings part. Not awesome. Not horrible, either. Just… eh. The worst part is when you reach the end of your meal, your stretchy pants are at capacity and you wish you could do it all over again.

Combine your own free sauces to make your own ‘gourmet ’ sauce. The combinations are endless, parking was super easy. This location doesn’t have a Unilocal offer like torrance has. Torrance has a $ 5.00 off check in offer(or had at one time) . Plays excellent music. I told our server it was like someone plugged in my iphone! Overall a good place for lunch.

I came here after hiking Runyon Canyon and I was hungrier than a fat kid on his third day at fat camp. I ordered the fries and crispy onion strings as a starter. The fries had a nice garlic parmesan seasoning and the onion strings had a nice crunch to them. Both were really tasty. I recommend giving those a try. I ordered Bacon² BBQ Burger, which consisted of beef, tillamook cheddar, ripened red tomato, applewood smoked bacon, crispy onion strings, and hickory bbq sauce all on a brioche style bun. Sounds good, right? It was OK. I’ve definitely had better. One interesting thing that I noticed on the menu was the Beer Float, which is just beer with vanilla ice cream. I wasn’t in the mood to try it at the time, I’m still intrigued as to how it would taste. The service was top notch. The waiter was constantly coming by to check up on us and making sure that we were enjoying ourselves. He was even cracking jokes with us, which is always fun. While the sides being pretty decent, The Counter’s burgers fell short of my expectations. It is also not cheap. It did satisfy my appetite though.

I had the Meltdown with a side of sweet potato fries. Instead of the sourdough bread, I asked for wheat instead. The entire lunch was quite delicious. The plan comes with a couple of sauces on the side. The wasabi flavoured dip is great with the fries. David was my waiter. Did a great job. Refilled my water a couple of times and my food came out under 10 – 15 minutes. The parking lot has ONE hour free parking with validation. You can also park on the street for 2 hours without having to pay. It may take a bit longer finding street parking though. I like that they have outside seating as well. Perfect for a warm day.

The counter is a great place to get a burger. Unlike most fast food joints, this place uses all-natural ingredients. Their burgers come in 1⁄3 lbs and ½ lbs variety, and their ingredients and fresh. This time around, I got the Baja burger in the 1⁄3 lbs option. The ground meat was definitely up to standards, the cheese and dried berries made it taste splendid. I got the side salad with thousand island dressing. You can complement your burger with an assortment of other sides: fries, vegetables, corn on the cob. To drink, I got the iced tea. Other options include red wine, white wine, and import beer. Located on the Sunset strip, this is a great place to stop by while enjoying the posh side of LA.
