Applied Philosophy melds the Mind Training of advanced psychology principles, the ancient Mind-Body-Reflex training of eastern martial arts, a very cutting edge view of how to apply it to each unique individuals own potential. In recent years I’ve come to the realization that the process of personal growth should start at more basic levels to make learning more accessible to people. Therefore, I’ve taken from my experiences from public health, community mental health centers, private practice, and psychology. And taking from my privileged experience in TaeKwonDo, and other martial training, as student, teacher, family friend, and Master Instructor, I have combined them into a unique synthesis to create a system for healthy and successful living. In effect I can teach you how to create your own ultimate, and personal Milieu. One that supports the best in you. I can help you find your own unique form of life art that blends Body-Mind, and the life that can flow from that integration.

History

Established in 1969.

Originally, I was a therapist. But the idea of therapy is too limiting. The point, for me at least, was not so much to cure an injury, or correct a flaw, or solve a problem, as it was to promote the optimum development of the individual’s potential. Along the way I needed to, and students needed to consider the issues, and problems their life was already carrying, but ultimately the point would become a better balanced life. My Master’s thesis, for instance, focused on Milieu Therapy. That means that the intervention is created by the total living environment of each day. And now I know, by each, and every, moment. I found that my changes, and other peoples changes came more rapidly, and were better retained when cross connected to a broad behavioral change as part of the foundation. I found that especially true when a person, or group considered their values, and priorities as part of an integrated whole. I also found that large changes came from small, incremental changes

I’m a teacher of sorts, that is to say, I teach a path toward a balanced and healthy life. Among several traditional cultures, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese, and among others in East Asia, a path is also called a «Way», or Do, or Tao. So you could say that I am a teacher by trade. Of the ‘Way’. That’s the esoteric part, but I’m also grounded in the practical side of American know how, especially in managing small and medium size businesses to become more efficient and profitable. Eastern applications, to Western challenges for individuals and groups.
