Thank U Pho

Large portions and good flavor. I usually can finish an entire bowl of phở no problem, but I struggled here. It was also nice and quiet inside. Only a five minute walk from the Wilshire/​Western purple line metro stop, which is also a bonus.

Great prices and good selection. The Phở itself was flawless, but only complaint is that they only offer tripe in two of the selections. All phở places I have been to usually let you make your own order if you’d like. Also, they could definitely work on the speediness of their staff. I had to ask myself both times for water, instead of them coming over and refilling automatically. Overall satisfied though.

This review is with regards to my experience from about a month back.
I came here with my co-​workers after a long night, and got here around 3AM.
What’s awesome is that it’s open until 4AM.
I’m not a phở eater all the time, but I do enjoy a good bowl of phở once in a while.
I ordered the #6 – rare steak & brisket. I must say it was mighty delicious, but unfortunately, I was unable to finish an entire bowl of phở, and had to leave behind quite a bit of it :(Fortunately, it only cost $ 6 so it was definitely a bargain, and bank for your buck.
If I was really hungry next time, I’d definitely come back. It’s good phở, saves me a long drive to Little Saigon, and fills me up. I wish I was feeling more hungry when I came here.

I get it… it’s a Korean Phở spot… I’m not dissin’ that part. In fact, I love Phở 2000 on 6^th and even like Saigon on Serrano. Let me explain…
1^st time: I had the Korean stuff… Jampong *Spicy Seafood Soup. Pretty good. No complaints but my homie had the regular basic rare-​beef phở and complained to me. I decided to taste it and MAN… that thing was lacking much flavor. It didn’t even have that «phở» essense. You know what I’m talking about!!! That essnese that only Phở has. It was essentially like a watered down broth.
2^nd time: I order the «Special» Phở. It had pretty much everything in it. Tendon, Beef… you name it. Again, just some basic broth. None of that Viet Phở essence at all but what was even worse was that it literally tasted like there was bleach in the broth. Third sip… I put it down. I was done.
Who knows, maybe I was just having some bad nights?
All I know is that, the 4.5 star rating isn’t accurate for people who are really down with Vietnamese Phở… essence and all with all it’s pungent greatness.
This place is more for watered down taste buds. Looks like Phở… just doesn’t taste like it much.

God damn it.
I heard this place was awesome but the soup was bland and watery, possibly because they opened 2hrs ago.

Best Phở in K-​Town. I grew up in Fountain Valley, CA (very close to Westminster — Little Saigon), so I may be a bit spoiled when it comes to Phở and Vietnamese cuisine in general, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a good Phở place in Los Angeles. I’ve tried roughly three to five different Phở restaurants in Los Angeles, and I was unpleasantly surprised on how terrible the Phở was in all of those locations. I think God may have heard my whining because Thank U Phở opened up within walking distance to my apartment! If it wasn’t so close, I would probably have never came here, but I am glad I did. Again, this is the best Phở in K-​Town, to date!
Additionally, the service is awesome and yes, the employees speak English. This may sound weird coming from a Korean that speaks Korean and lives in Koreatown (lol), but I prefer English and count it as a huge plus for any restaurants in K-​Town. Further, the portions and prices are more than fair.
If you’re looking for some good Phở in K-​Town, I highly recommend you give this place a shot.

Big enough portions, generous servings of meat and noodles, clean and air conditioned, well lit, friendly and fast service… Yeah, you get 5 stars.

GREAT customer service and I mean GREAT! Every time I come here, I always love the way we are treated. All the employees always have a BIG SMILE.
The steak is so soft, I LOVE their phở! Valet for $ 2 FTW!

I’ll give this place 5 stars. While not my favorite phở restaurant, Thank U Phở is up there, and 4 stars seems too low. Came here today for lunch after reading rave reviews on Unilocal,and it did not disappoint.
The menu here is small and simple. Prices are super cheap, with Phở Thai (Tai — rare steak phở) coming in at just under $ 8. The noodle quantity far exceeded expectations, and I left stuffed. This place seriously dishes out some of the most generous noodle portions in their phở around! The noodles tasted great, and their broth was delicious. Add in the fact that Thank U Phở doesn’t use MSG, and you got me hooked.
The rare steak, while good, didn’t impress me as much as other places. The taste and flavor were good, but not great. Most of my steak pieces were well-​done by the time it got to me too, which was a slight bummer. Upon trying my friend’s brisket, I am convinced that I probably should have ordered it. The brisket tasted great. The soup was served EXTREMELY hot, which is how it’s meant to be.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and trip here. I will definitely be back at some point. The Oxtail Phở on the menu looked really good. I’ll have to come back again to try it. If I lived closer, I would definitely be a regular here. Go ahead and give this place a try! I highly recommend.

Thank u phở was delicious! We went on a Sunday and it was unexpectedly pretty crowded, we had to wait about 10 minutes. I ordered the beef fried rice which was great! I love fried rice tho. Add some spicy chili sauce and some hoison sauce and you are good to go!
They also gave me a bowl of soup on the side with the rice. It was pretty good, but I prefer and more meaty and flavorful broth personally. My friends ordered the rare beef phở and their bowl looked HUGE and filled to the brim with noodles. They were stuffed after! I definetly could not have finished, the portions here are GENEROUS! Our bill for 3 people was 30, which is pretty good if u ask me, definetly a bargain.
Parking here was a little tricky, they have a large parking lot but it was completely packed, we found meter parking instead.

Thank U PHO more like NO THANK U PHO. I should’ve known. Phở in ktown? Kinda expected it but gave it chance cause the fake good reviews and it was close by. Stop lying on the Unilocal reviews guys I can’t trust em anymore.
But anyways Phở soup was bland. No flavor. Got the spring rolls too. Horribly rolled and really nothing in the roll but shrimp vermicelli and a ton of shredded lettuce. Jipped. Never coming back. If you’re from the 626 you’ve had better.

My girl’s taking a study break and she’s craving for phở. The usual spot that we hit up doesn’t use MSG so we decided to Unilocal in search of another phở spot. And this place was the only place around that had 4+ star rating. We got here 12:30 — there’s a few tables but not so busy. There’s only one guy running the floor… felt a bit sorry for him but he’s got such a great attitude… will def leave him a fat tip later.
We ordered #1 phở w everything and #8 chicken phở. To our dismay this place does not endorse MSG and their soup was a bit bland for me. If I pay more can I get msg? Everything tastes healthy and meh. Not good and not bad. It’s been a long whiles since I’ve added oyster sauce and sriracha in my soup but guess tonite is going to be that kind of night. I’m definitely cutting Korean version of Phở out of my list of food I’ll eat. It just really makes me miss the real thing haha. The thai ice tea taste water down.
*felt like i should explain why we’re craving for MSG. I know in good phở they don’t add msg because the soup base has been cooking for hours and the flavor is great where msg is not needed but been craving for more flavor Tonite that’s why we thought of msg.
3 stars for the food and drink + 1 extra star for the great service. Chances of return… zero.

You will not be disappointed!!! To me, this is the best phở restaurant. For the people complaining, yeah this isn’t authentic phở but it’s a cleaner, healthier version and still tastes amazing! It really hits the spot when I’m craving a hearty bowl of phở without having bad regrets.
I came here with doubts thinking that authentic «clean» phở couldn’t possibly taste good. and if it’s not authentic then it must be a white version of phở and usually white versions of any kind of Asian food sucks (aka Panda Express). Boy was I wrong. What I like most about this phở is that it doesn’t contain any MSG and it tastes like heaven in my mouth without making me extra thirsty or bloated afterwards. They also put a good amount of vegetables in there including onions, cilantro, bean sprouts etc) and I usually get Phở Tai (rare steak for some lean protein.
The noodles are good but I personally like it a little more undercooked. The broth is really tasty too and it makes me feel good knowing that I can slurp all of it up without feeling guilty. I believe the broth is also vegetarian? It’s seriously amazing because it tastes like beef broth to me but it hasn’t touched any beef at all!
Also love that the portions are HUGE! Way larger than your regular bowl of phở. I usually to-​go my order and it seriously spilts into two meals and there’s literally so. much. food.
I also got the summer roll (spring roll) on the side and it comes with some yummy peanut sauce that’s not too sweet. The rice paper is fresh and chewy and it’s loaded with lettuce, cilantro, and shrimp.
Most importantly, I like that they are clean and the service is friendly. It looks like a family-​owned business to me and the folks are always so accommodating.
Definitely give this place a try, but don’t come in with expectations of wanting super authentic phở. Here, you’ll get delicious phở but it’s also healthy and it’ll make you feel great (aka no post-​phở hangovers). Thank U Thank U Phở!

Phở after my heart! Step over Blossom Vietnamese because Thank U Phở’s broth is slurp worthy. In case you are wondering, Blossom Vietnamese’s phở broth were the only phở broth I slurped until Thank U Phở.
On top of that, Thank U Phở’s portions are beyond generous. Flavors are on the spot with fresh ingredients. Service? Our waitress was accommodating, friendly and prompt.

So, my man loves phở. I like phở too, but not as much. Phở is a comfort food that is great to eat when you are sick or feeling blue. Thank U Phở is a very solid option in Koreatown.
Thank U is the type of place that you will try and never think about finding a replacement phở place. I have tried their Phở Tai (rare steak-​$ 7.45) and the brisket and rare steak phở ($ 7.95). Both are very, very good. Their broth is complex and tasty, without being fatty. They provide an adequate amount of meat as well. My man also tried the vegetarian phở, but we both agreed the broth was lackluster.
I would stay away from the appetizers. We tried the shrimp spring rolls and deeply regretted that decision. We also tried another appetizer, but I forget what it was.
All in all, a very good (affordable) option when you want a bowl of Vietnamese noodle soup.

Huge portions and pretty good broth and meats.
We ordered takeout and it was ready in five minutes. The combo phở, extra noodles, and spring rolls came out to just under $ 17.
What we found out is they give you so much in the combo phở that extra noodles wasn’t even needed!
The combo phở was good and the brisket and meatballs really stood out as tender and delicious. I liked their broth is especially light and pairs with the noodles perfectly.
All the sides were fresh and their lime slices were generous. I’m not a big spring rolls fan but even I could taste the freshness of the shrimp in these rolls.
Overall a really great phở place. Parking in Oxford Plaza is $ 2.00.

Even when I was drunk this phở place didn’t taste good to me. I do however like how they have vegetarian items on their menu. Me and my friend split the vegetable phở and the tofu spring rolls. The spring rolls were extremely bland and plain. I’ve tried way better tofu spring rolls in 626 than this place. Their tofu is the soft tofu that is really bland and has no taste at all. At least add salt and pepper to the tofu before putting it in the spring roll. Their vegetable phở was alright. Their soup isn’t as good as other places, I thought it was also very bland with very little salt in it. They do give you a good amount of veggies and noodles tho.
There’s only one worker here so when the place got busy, service of course got slower. But that’s not her fault since it’s a small place and they really do only need one worker. But the lady can get rude when she’s being rushed.

Thank goodness for being open until 4am! If you’re looking for a healthier, heartier option after clubbing or heavy drinking, stop by Thank U Phở. The bowls of phở are fairly priced for a good amount of meat and noodles, flavorful broth, and great service.
The eggs rolls were a little disappointing – the ground meat was a little weird and not very flavorful, and there weren’t very many veggies inside.

I’d say this is a decent place for Phở. I wouldn’t come back, though, simply because there is better out there nearby.
My friend got the popular Spicy Seafood Phở, and he said it was good, but too spicy for him. Haha. As for me, I ordered the Vegetarian Phở, and WATCH OUT VEGETARIANS AND VEGANS: The broth is definitely still beef broth, despite this bowl being labelled «vegetarian.» For me, the smell of the beef broth was very overwhelming and kind of made me lose my appetite, as this was not what I was expecting.
Service is OK. You do have to get their attention for water refills.
Parking is valet $ 2.

To me, this is the best phở. All other phở places I have been to, had a similar flavor with high acidity after taste which made me extremely thirsty after eating them.
The soup here is very bland, still meaty but not greasy, not sweet, not sour, not SALTY! This is only phở that could calm my stomach even after eating at late night without making me feel thirsty and bloated.
The noodle is slightly overcooked, but the soup is extremely hot and it stays hot quite a while. Their oxtail is very tender and clean, the soup base of oxtail is even more bland, I can taste clean nutty meat broth itself. Chagio — similar to deep fried eggrolls but in wrapped with rice paper, so it is not only crispy but also gives chewy texture as well. Dipping sauce is very bland and light.
Lot of other phở places have filling of eggrolls and dipping sauce too sugary, which also makes me thirsty after.
Ambience is just clean but not fancy at all, staff are friendly and attentive. I like they have such a simple menu. Although their sauce bottles don’t have caps but the tip is clean without any dried and clogged sauce chunks. I also noticed the staff were cleaning inside of spoons holder.
They give plenty of onions, sprouts and mint leaves, I can’t say they are super fresh but I don’t use any of them so not a big deal.
This is definitely my go to phở place at late night when I am in the area.
