I can’t speak highly enough of the service that Dr. Rawlinson and her team offer. We had to say goodbye to our beloved German Shepherd on Christmas Eve. We had just put our Chihuahua to sleep dramatically at the hospital three days prior because she was unable to recover from heart failure. We were broken emotionally, and when we arrived home our Shepherd had collapsed from internal bleeding as a result of Hemangiosarcoma that was quickly consuming his abdomen despite our efforts with surgery and chemo. We knew we had days, so I called Dr. Rawlinson and she couldn’t have been more wonderful. I never felt pressure to make the decision on the spot. In fact, I rescheduled three times. We spent three painful but priceless days and nights laying with Rambo on our bedroom floor. We wanted to absorb every moment we could with him, so we selfishly kept procrastinating the inevitable. However, she never made us feel an ounce of guilt for doing this. She and Renee came to our house on Christmas Eve and gently took Rambo from his pain and suffering. It was the most peaceful experience, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I am forever in debt to these ladies.

As soon as Dr. J.J. Rawlinson stepped inside my home, she was a guardian angel. She was so incredibly gentle with my sweet golden retriever Oscar. It was as if she had known him his whole life, and he felt the same. He was immediately at peace and felt calm in her presence. She was so wonderful to me and my family, offering sincere warmth and love. I will always be truly grateful for her and taking away the pain my little boy had.

I wanted to write a review for Serenity even though we ended up not needing to use them. Our cat was very sick and alternated between appearing to get better for a day and then getting much worse again and ultimately we had to rush the cat to a clinic in the middle of the night. Prior to that, we had called and scheduled and then twice cancelled appointments with Serenity and they were so helpful, understanding, and compassionate that I wanted to come on and write a recommendation for them. You can tell that they know what they are doing and will take good care of you. I had checked with multiple places when searching for this type of service and after my first call to Serenity I knew they were the right choice.

On July 1^st 2015, one week ago today, I had to send Leonardo to Heaven:(((
Serenity and DR Lauren Tang made this the most loving experience for my gentle greyhound. In this weeks time I have grieved with a lighter heart knowing his final moments were surrounded with more love, dignity and peacefulness than he could possibly take with him.

Serenity is absolutely AMAZING! Dr. JJ had cared for both of our dogs for many years so it was a dream to have to be there for us and for Cosmo in his final hour. She was patient and kind and explained everything she was going to do. Putting a pet down is one of the most vulnerable things a person can do, and it is so important to have the right people to help you walk through the experience.

My husband and I had to say goodbye to our cat of 18 years a few weeks ago and this place helped us do that with love, care and dignity. They were thoughtful and understanding and made going through the process a little bit easier. I highly recommend using them to help you say goodbye to your furry loved ones.

This is the email I sent to Dr. Rawlinson. If you are in this horrible situation of deciding how to end the suffering of your beloved pet, Dr. Rawlinson and her team will make you feel at peace and bring enormous dignity and grace — even beauty — to the final moments. Please consider using them if you are in such a situation.

Thank you hardly seems enough. You sent Lindsay and her technician Eric to our house to help ease Edward out of his struggle and into death — or the next phase of his being, at least. We called you at the last minute on Sunday after enduring a morning of difficulty, and though we were at first disappointed that Lindsay couldn’t come until the evening, we are now grateful. We were able to spend a full day with Edward, and though he limped and panted throughout the day, Lindsay assured us that there was discomfort but not yet pain. We spent an afternoon on our back lawn with Edward as he watched his sister, Lucy, play with her ball and allowed us to hold him, pet him, take naps with him and stay with him in through the twilight. When we took him back inside, he chose the room where he ultimately went to his final sleep.
Lindsay and Eric were the most unselfish, considerate, warm, loving people we could possibly imagine. They knew that we might change our mind at the last minute, and did not push us at all. They discussed our options, gave us an honest evaluation of Edward’s condition, and let us make the choice. And then, as Edward and we worked through the process, Lindsay explained every step while it was happening — quietly, unobtrusively.
How the two of them witness such grief and despair, I don’t know. They are wonderful people, they are truly special. They knew when to leave us alone and when to help us. And they encouraged us to be honest with our difficult feelings … and to remember that Edward was still with us, and we were there for his comfort. Their presence helped us pull ourselves together so that we were able to play some nice music and calm ourselves down enough to help Edward relax and hear our words of love and thanks.
It was the most difficult night of our lives, I believe, but Lindsay and Eric were so wonderful. We feel they shared something very important with us, and we are glad they did. They made this impossible night more manageable, and helped end Edward’s final day of his 13 ½-​year life with true grace, dignity, serenity and beauty.

It’s odd to give 5 stars to an in-​home euthanasia vet, but Serenity really made the best of a terribly sad situation. My darling dog was getting worse by the day, and they were able to accommodate us on short notice. Dr. Rawlinson gave me the phone consultation, and was completely understanding when I broke down in tears. She answered all of my questions with tact and compassion.
Tracey was our vet, and Robert the vet tech. They entered our apartment with quiet, respectful voices, and walked us through the entire process. Paperwork was quick, because the last thing you want to be doing in the last moments of your animal’s life is filling out forms.
We never felt rushed, they let us take our time saying goodbye. If you find yourself in the unenviable position of having to put your dog down, Serenity is your best choice for a caring staff who understands.
