Restoration Destinations

I wrote the below review years ago, and it remained on Unilocal uninterrupted, which clearly the owner then worked very hard to have removed, because it was so achingly true and got alot of traction — potential customers were constantly writing me asking me questions and airing similar concerns about this company. Today (posted in 2013, taken down in 2015) the review was removed because «it did not contain a first person customer account.»
So allow me to clarify: despite how the below review is worded, I am the customer who dealt directly with this company and this impossibly unprofessional man. I researched them, I contacted them and I made the very grave mistake of hiring them. I am the Event Producer who received a mistaken SEXT from the owner that referenced the size of my thighs. Every experience described was uncomfortably first hand.

«My award winning NYC-​based events agency hired Restoration Destinations to provide an Airstream for a promotional marketing tour for a high visibility corporate client. So as to not get buried in detail and thusly seem petty, I will list primary issues below: (srsly: overarching theme of entire review being AVOID! RUN!)
–Inconsistent e-​mail response times in initial planning phase of event
–Inconsistent pricing for services (invoices reflected both massive increases & decreases that made no sense)
–Mere days before event, company owner felt it appropriate to let my agency know that his cat barfed on the $ 5,000 check we had sent him 3 weeks earlier, adding that if we didn’t recut the check immediately the Airstream would not be onsite at event, as promised.
–Instantly, weirdly combative behavior from owner (who was also the Airstream driver) upon meeting in person; received complaints from multiple team members re: his attitude & demeanor
–Arrived onsite late multiple times for load ins/​load outs
NOW THIS IS WHERE IT TRULY GETS GOOD:
–Owner/​driver was universally unprofessional, ie, sent Event Producer an inappropriate sext message clearly intended for someone else (scandal!)
–Owner/​driver initiated a full-​on 7^th grade style text war (with same Event Producer he had previously mistakenly sexted), making totally unfounded personal attacks on her character (PM for screen shots, it’s NEXT LEVEL un-​pro for business world!)
Quick, Real-​Life Sample: «YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH YOUR LIES! I HAVE SOMETHING YOU LACK! INTEGRITY.»
(to note, at this point my agency just paid this dude $ 25,000 for him to throw ‘tude & send SMS messages about how much he loved a complete strangers thighs — yet somehow our team was being chastised for lacking integrity?)
–Owner/​driver did not keep to his agreement of where Airstream would securely park. Agency paid for secure parking in Los Angeles (per his request/​demand) while he took the Airstream home & kicked it for a few days on the company’s dime.
Fellow potential consumer, hearmenow: Before signing on to work with Restoration Destinations, REMIND YOURSELF: there are plenty of vendors who rent & wrap Airstreams — seamlessly & professionally — with no sass, no backtalk!
It’s just not worth the high-​dollar trip back to bad vibes high school that you’ll be in for.
(Dangit! Even with my attempt at bullet points, I still got into too many petty details.)
Either way, the heartfelt message remains swift & unchanged: EFFING RUN.
