Dear god where do I begin?! This was the absolute worst experience of my life! I went in trying to alter some jeans to be more fitted! I admit I was a little bit skeptical when she didn’t take any real measurements and just started pinning. But I had confidence in her since she told me her store has been open for so long and altering pants is relatively easy seam work. I ended up having to make 4 trips to see her because every time the pants were too tight! This last time she told me that this time they were perfect! l especially since I had urged her to take my measurements. In the end I. Was left with pants that were too tight and she said she could no longer let them out anymore because she had cut off the excess fabric! I couldn’t even get the damn pants on all the way! I paid $ 15 dollars which may not seem like much plus another 30 to go buy the same exact pair of pants pre-​alteration! Worst seamstress/​dress maker ever! Avoid like the plague.

This was my first and last time going here. Unfortunately, Olga butchered the bottom of my bridesmaid dress, and failed to cinch in the sides (when I got the dress, it still had the original pins in it). I had to take the dress to someone else to fix it. I wouldn’t recommend.

I am not a new client. I have visited Mrs. Olga dressmaker many years. I met her long time ago at the mall/​swap meet in valley who is no longer there. I bought one of my 2 wedding dresses here. I had other pieces/​items that I got altered for my husband and myself. She is the best in valley. I love her services and dresses. You can get any dress custom made for you.

PAY ATTENTION UnilocalERS! You get what you pay for! $ 30 to hem a dress. I was told my brand new $ 200 dress was ready for pick up, 2 weeks after dropping it off. Came to pick it up just to find out it wasn’t ready, but no worries, I can live with that! Although the job was horrific, I just turned the other cheek!
What I couldn’t live with, was how my dress was returned back to me. The lady let her dirty smelling poodle dog run around the shop and when I walked in the store, I was hit with a strong smell of pet urine. You know the smell when you’re potty training your new pup? Except it was like she was training a whole pet shop.
And you guessed it, after 2 weeks of my dress sitting there, not to mention, it was in a garment bag, my dress was not wearable!!! I had to take it straight to a cleaner and paid $ 50 to remove the smell off on my brand new dress that hasn’t even been worn yet.
NEVER EVER, EVER AGAIN!!!

I had orders a custom suit online which was terribly constructed and 3 sizes too big. Olga gave me her professional honest opinion. She had my suit ready in 4 days and her prices are very reasonable. $ 25 for the whole suit and pants to be altered. She fixed things other alteration places wouldn’t even try. Olga is the only person I will go to. Her work I’d exceptional.

Olga is the sweetest lady and her work is outstanding! My husband took a jacket to her to have the buttons replaced and to have some lining added to the collar due to the wool being itchy. She did and amazing job and is very inexpensive. We will definitely be using her in the future.

I came here after looking for a seamstress for a formal dress. I usually do not get alternations as I tend to buy my dresses as is and ready to wear. However, I was in need of an experienced seamstress and I came across Olga, a hidden gem in the wall. She is wonderful and a real expert when it comes to alterations. She is so personable and friendly! I would recommend her to all my friends and family Her prices are reasonable depending on the work that needs to be done and she works with your time frame. There is plenty of metered parking on the streets around her store. Thank you Olga!

I felt guilty for keeping this little gem of a place all to myself so here it is…
Olga is amazing. She is also extremely inexpensive. All of this I discovered last month when I brought a pair of pants in to be hemmed and a dress to be taken out. I was just looking for a place close to work so I could drop off on my lunch break. Since then I have taken in all my pants that need a little hemming to be perfect, and several other little things. I’ve never rushed her with time, but she always seems to finish early. Always perfect, always light on my wallet. Cash only FYI.

I had TWO days (not a typo, 2 DAYS!) to get a dress altered for a wedding, and zero time. I dropped off the dress at Olga’s on Thursday at 7:15pm (she closes at 7, but stayed open to let me come in late since I called. Automatic star there!!) and showed her where I needed the dress taken out about 1 inch at the bust. The place that made the dress had left very little fabric inside for taking it out, plus there was rouching (those little pleats) on the bust to make things more difficult, and then little spagetti straps that needed to be shortened… fast forward to Friday at 4pm when I got a call saying she was done! A less-​than 24 hour turnaround!
I went to pick it up and it fit perfectly, except a tiny extra fold of fabric which she quickly fixed on the spot for me! All this and it cost $ 30! I was thinking it would be $ 80 – 100, especially since I needed it done so quickly. The ONE draw back is that she is cash only, but really? So not a big deal when you’re getting amazing, friendly, mom-​and-​pop service and professional-​level results!

Needed a couple dresses altered and I wanted it to be as quick and painless as possible. Olga did not dissapoint. Not only were my dress perfect, they were also done in a timely matter. Olga will defiently be my go to from now on!

She’s a brilliant seamstress! She finished my alterations in less than a week and even made it a lot more efficient to wear. Thank you so much for making my prom dress absolutely beautiful!

I called Olga the dress maker this afternoon. I needed some clothes hemmed immediately. Typical me, always waiting till the last minute. I ask her if she can hem 3 items for me now. She said yes. I took them in, she stated I could wait approximately 15 minutes and she would have them done. I chose to leave them because I had a few errands to run, but I returned an hour later, and sure enough, they were nicely hemmed and waiting for me. She has great rates too! I called around and every where else I called wanted more than what she charged. She is a super nice and a very pleasant business woman. I will definitely be going back to her for more alterations.

I’m so very glad I found Olga. She is such a sweet lady, very accommodating, and she definitely knows her craft. I have had several alterations done by her and it’s perfection every time. The last time I needed her expertise was for our Engagement Session outfit. We or more like I, decided to wear a last minute outfit to our E-​session. I picked up my evening outfit (long formal dress which needed alteration) Friday night for the E-​session on Sunday. I dropped it off at Olga’s shop Saturday after lunch hoping that she will be able to turn it around the same day. Thankfully she took it and told me to come back in 3 hours. 3 hours!!! I couldn’t believe it, I was jumping up and down with relief!!! She did such an amazing job and my dress fit me perfectly like it was custom made for me. I can’t thank Olga enough for the amazing alteration job she does for me. You are the BEST Olga!!!

I came here to get my dress hemmed for a wedding. HUGE mistake!
When I put the dress on she sat down on the floor to measure the length. I thought that she would ask me how short I wanted it and I ASSUMED she would pin it first to verify the length. But NO. SHE JUST STARTED CUTTING IT!!! And she cut it TOO SHORT!!!
A soon as I noticed she was cutting it I immediately was said, «what are you doing? You’re supposed to pin it first so I can confirm the length!!» And she got mad at me telling me how SHE was the professional!!! OBVIOUSLY NOT!!!
THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!! NEVER, I MEAN NEVER GO HERE!!!

I’m such a happy client and I can’t express that enough. She’s a professional seamstress who specializes in alterations! I mean you really won’t find someone who’s professional, fast, and AFFORDABLE like her.
I typically taker her 10 – 15 pieces at a time and when she calls to let me know that everything is ready (usually in a week), I already have another 15 pieces for her to work on. I’m taking her my whole wardrobe! There’s nothing like having everything in your closet fit your body the way it’s suppose to. I have endless options now and I have her to thank.
Oh and by the way, this is the same lady who altered my gown 4 hours before the Elton John Oscars Party. I made plans to attend the event last minute, I went to the Topanga mall to buy a dress the same day! Since the dress didn’t fit me properly, I knew I was going to need emergency alterations. That’s when my husband googled for a local seamstress, found Mrs. Olga on Unilocal,he called her and told her our situation, and she got it done in 2 hours!

So, after having come here a few times over the last 4-​ish years whenever I’ve needed a formal dress, I thought it was about time to write a review after coming here again recently.
On my most recent trip here, I had forgotten about this place until I had checked three malls (Sherman Oaks, Northirdge, Topanga) for a dress to be a guest at a wedding. Found three here that I LOVED and could not decide between. Finally chose one with some help from the lady who runs the store, and I am very, very satisfied with it. :)
For one, they have a good variety of formal dresses from wedding dresses to short prom dresses to dresses for a night out. They also have some really amazing styles to look through here, and the majority of the dresses are only $ 20! Yes! I bought my prom dress and a dress to be a guest at a wedding here, and they were both GORGEOUS for only $ 20. Every time I shop here I feel like I’m really supporting a local business while still getting an amazing deal.
This place is, however, cash only. Make sure to bring some cash or just head down to the BofA up the street if not.
